It was a very busy weekend as I had to prepare the back garden for the biggest part of the makeover (coming on Thursday), so I was pretty AWOL. Please accept my apologies! I haven't been to all your journals yet (if you've missed me...) but I'll get there

Friday night the AK clone was desperate for a drink and since I was going to transplant it (can't do that wet), I did it after work.

Saturday morning recovery! It's in a 10 gallon GeoPot which will be its final home.
Saturday I did a little thinning of the Sour G, and since I got my order of Clonex gel on Friday, I took these:
The stems are thin and they weren't very tall, but no more secret cloning projects. It's been long enough that I'm okay with you seeing me fail again!
Sunday I decided to give the AK clone a haircut as it was really bushy and I couldn't tell what the heck it really looked like. Since it's May, I'm starting to think about final shape (a bit early probably but still...) so here's the before and after.
Here's what came off:
Not a lollipop yet, as that won't happen for a few months now, but I did want to trim the shoots growing down under that would never reach the canopy. And since I like to leave as many leaves as I can when thinning (they power the plant), here's a little one-pic tutorial of what I do. Each shoot usually has an accompanying fan leaf. Mostly I take the shoot and leave the leaf. It takes longer to trim this way but I'm only taking what I don't want:

Here is the Auto Masszar this morning on day 42:
Here is the Haze Xtreme this morning on day 14. We'll soon see if this stays a mutant or gets more normal as it grows:
And everyone's favorite, the AK-47 on day 44:

Just a quick note...the three photos that are going through the fall (Sour G, AK clone, and Gold Leaf) are now left out all the time. Only the AutoM and the HazeX go into the shed under the Mars 300 all night, along with the AK from 6:00-8:30pm when it goes into the dark box.

Oh if you only knew the woes of my early days of cloning. It got so bad that @Rider509 offered to send me his clone tote that he didn't want to use any more (only to then use it to clone his grow and produce another set of three-foot colas - he changes his mind a lot).Nice!! I have a new technique now that worked on 3 of my last 4 clones so we'll see. I'm not all that confident, but I have plenty of time to get clones off of any of these plants. Clone failure was my claim to fame for a while
. Thanks for the offer!Glad you approve of the defol. I didn't go #fullnewty on it, that's more of a late August thing probably. And since I'm more than halfway through the AK flowering, I'm hoping it speeds up on the stacking and bulking. There are a lot of tops but none of them are all that big. Might just not be the root system to build them all. We'll see!

That Defoil will help build those buds I would just pluck at the ones that get in the way now, mine usually stop producing vegetation after the 3 weeks of stretch and just focus on bud building really. I stripped them a bit too much before and was thinking hmmmm why they no grow back?? Then I learned what happened.

The defol this weekend was on the clone though, not the AK in flower. Haven't done anything to that other than cull a few underbuds and take a fan here and there. You think I should take all the underbuds?That Defoil will help build those buds

Haha I just realized I was mixing up your #vegdefoil and the AK! Forget what I said, you’ll want to get in there a couple more times!! Lol
I always take the underbuds now that I’ve witnessed the difference in bud size at the end...anything not getting light is gone

Yeah, mine didn't stretch much so the lollipop I did before flip was really all it needed.

Yes, thanks! I watched that one earlier on your thread. That's kinda what I did with the AK before flip. I was thinking I was going to have to do it again after stretch but it never came. So all that's left is the lower larf which I'll cut and bag tomorrow.

Thanks Penny! A bit less work now that I'm not carrying all 6 plants around every night. Now I just have to build my back muscles for when I have to carry the full-grown versions around after Sept 21st
