InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Oh no, sorry! I was just trying to get GF numbers into hydrobuddy somehow, so I had to pretend it was a dry soluble nutrient. I never had any thought of trying to dissolve it in water.
Apparently I misunderstood everything in those posts. :cheesygrinsmiley:

They actually say it's not suitable for hydro as it won't dissolve readily.

It doesn't dissolve at all- even if you let it sit overnight... I think the water just washes the nutrients off of whatever those granules are made of, and the granules just settle to the bottom of the jug.
I made a little "tea" with it a few weeks ago for the Kalashnikov- didn't seem to do anything for the plant, so I shelfed that bright idea...

You refer to "hydrobuddy" software a lot. What is it? Hydrobuddy sounds like something you would use for hempy grows. :hmmmm:
Hydrobuddy is software created for those growing (anything) in hydro, but there seems to be no reason not to be able use it for non-hydro growing. It's use is for those building their nutrient mixes from the ground up (element by element) or those who want to target specific ratios the way MrS does (and I under his tutelage).

You put the nutes you have (or wish to have) into a database, put in the PPM numbers you are trying to hit for various elements, and it will tell you how much of each product to use, or what isn't needed at all. It also tells you how far off you are when it tries to get close but can't get there exactly based on what you tell it you're working with.

It can be used for hempy, but it's really for folks digging very deep into the weeds of nutrient mixes.
Apparently I misunderstood everything in those posts. :cheesygrinsmiley:
No worries. You've missed a few things here. On the plus side, you seem to be catching up on the regular now, and I hope that can be maintained. :)

Thanks Carcass...for science!

I saw that you ground up some of it with a rock, right? For transplant? If you grind it with a rock (like a caveman ) and sprinkle it on top of the pot do you think it would “dissolve” quicker into the soil? And apologies if that is what you’ve already done (Now I’m high:cheesygrinsmiley:).
LOL! What I ground up with a rock was the Dynomyco, as pictured in the picture where I talked about grinding with a rock with the rock in the picture :cheesygrinsmiley: :

I was trying to reproduce the sprinkle-ability of the mykos brand I used to use, and it worked!

Since I'm using GF Veg nutes on my flowering Kalashnikov, I'm adding it to the water, mainly for the Potassium.
One little scoop of that stuff will turn your water black- real black, like squid ink black...don't spill it on the rug!
I first noticed that while watering a plant called Black Poison Skunk. Oh the things that went through my mind before I figured it was the GF.

Since it's chilly and grey today, the Friday update will just take a peek at what's on the desk.

Starting with the Summer Grow:

And ending with the cuttings (it's a small desk!):

Two of the three Tin Can Kush cuttings look like they've rooted, but none of the Candidas did. I'll take more cuttings from that this weekend and try again!

That's it for me. I hope the week was a good one and this weekend is sunny and safe. :peace:

Hey! Don’t go getting me in trouble with the sponsors....
Seriously, go post it.
Hey just skipped 35 pages but am here now on your busy NY street corner. Looks like you are coming along fine. Still loving seeing your girl's outdoors in the sunshine.
Thanks Kis. You're welcome anytime! :high-five:

That's weird, because Carcass was talking about using Blue Planet's Easy Weed!

Actually, Carcass was talking about GeoFlora. See below. :battingeyelashes:

Huh, the geoflora does the same.

Oof! See below:

Me: I haven't looked at the Easy Weed back label

The "it" Carcass is referring to is Easy Weed, as that's what has a lot of potassium in it

Also, as discussed here and in the GF thread, you don't add GF to water. Also also, you don't add GF in little scoops.

Damn it! I thought I had gotten you. :laughtwo:

So I was looking a little closer on the Kellogg soil website. I forgot what I clicked on , but it took me to their FAQ. The first thing under soil questions was about garden soils. The response included the following:

Garden Soils were never designed to be used as a stand-alone product to grow plants, but always to be mixed with native “garden soil.”

Well, that’s a new one on me. It makes sense now why they don’t have anything like peat in them.

Also it looks like I can get their All Natural Potting Mix. The Patio mix that you have, is only sold in 5 western states. The potting mix I can get appears to be sold everywhere except those 5 western states. I compared them on the website and the description is basically the same, almost word for word. I wonder why they do that.

Thanks BigD! I did read that after I had put in the olive tree.

Your comment about muddy perlite is more and more spot on. I may have to dig that tree up this weekend and blend some of the existing soil and bark chips in with it.

It's like the fact that Hellmann's mayonnaise on the east coast is the same as Best Foods on the west coast. Marketing!

I was listening to a Cannabis Cultivation podcast. The guest was talking about planting from a pot into the ground. He said you always want to mix up the potting soil you put in the hole with native soil. That way the plants roots find the texture of the soil to be somewhat the same and will spread out easier.
