InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Oh look, I'm near the top of a page! It must be safe to do a non-orphan Sunday morning update :).

[note: one purple pic below, because my color-shifting glasses were in the shed at dark time]

Let's start by talking a bit about lux. I wanted to measure the lux closer to the longest day of the year but we had no sun in June, so I did it today at real noon (1pm PDT):

That's 133,400 lux, which translated to 3,068.2 PPFD. The clouds burned off at noon and the marine layer rolled in at 4pm, so there were only 4 hours near that high lux, but it's still close to a DLI of 44. That's perfect for flowering according to @FelipeBlu, who recommends 40-55 at that stage. I'm sure I got more than 44 as it was pretty bright before the marine layer burned off.

Moving on, I did the thinning on the Bedroom Cookies 2.2, and I took a lot off.

Before:

After:

Paper box lid o'larf:

I also transplanted the four clones. Two Berry Bomb on the left and two Peyote Critical on the right:

They have been on and continue at 4g/gallon MegaCrop. I don't know what to do with these, so I may grow them out for a while, take cuttings again, and toss them.

And where do they spend the night? In the bike shed under the Mars Hydro 300, along with the Vulx AK and the crappy Lemon Potion auto:

I hung a tarp over the front of these to try to keep the light from bleeding into the new summer grow shelter which looks like this:

You may remember me saying I was going to put the tent away and let these flip themselves now, so they needed a place to live outside at night. But we have a motion light on the back of the house, so I slung a tarp between the bike shed and the hot tub. It's a little short, so I'll buy a new one next weekend to cover them completely. That will help keep some of the dew off as well.

The summer photo grow now consists of:
2 Candidas
1 Sour G
1 Durban Thunderfuck
1 It's It Punch
1 AK-47 (non-Vulx from the curtailed comparison grow)

I'll try to get a family portrait tomorrow.

I hope your Saturday went well and that Sunday goes according to plan.

Wow ain't you the busy man.. I do see alot of green over here,,, GL Keepem Green

Make sure you got good airflow in the back when you have that covered.. Something?

But you are away down south.... You have abit different R/H and rainfall. You may not have the same problems we get,,, PM and Bud Rott.

BTW is the tarp to block light, or prying eyes? You know I don't read much.............

You're busier than a one armed paper hanger, with cramps. Looking good they are! Unconventional works for anyone who'll use it.
I have a question about the light. All those numbers I didn't understand. I'll need to study on it some more. But, thanks for the info. I always like learning new things (to me). Cheers

LOL! We are crate-training but it's obviously early days. She sleeps in it with the door open so that's a good start!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Happy Monday all and welcome to the first update of the month! I got nothing plant-related done this weekend because we had so many people over to see the new puppy that there wasn't any time to do anything except all the watering. I wanted to do the post stretch de-larf (#nolarfclub - thanks double H) but that's going to have to wait. Maybe I can do one plant each morning this week since the puppy wakes me up early anyway.

Anyway, I took some shots of the flowering three this morning (flip day 22) so we can see what's happening. Let us begin...

First up, Berry Bomb:

And the undercarriage:

This is the order in which they come out of the shed by the way.

Next up is the AK-47:

And finally, the plant that makes me lose my balance when I try to set it down...Bedroom Cookies 2.2:

You can see from the undercarriage shots how much work I have to do down there o_O .

In other news, I gave away one of the 1-gallon BC clones to a friend of ours who will transplant it (I told her to buy Osmocote+) and leave it outside in the sun to flower. We'll see!

Happy Canada day to all you many many Canadians eh! And I hope those in the states are gearing up for July 4th. Someone in my family will not be going to the parade or the party, as the puppy needs company. She can't leave the house until her third round of shots at the end of the month. She doesn't know what leash is yet anyway :).

:ciao:
Outstanding shed :adore::passitleft:

All I can think of is that quote someone brought up of yours, from when you first started growing. Something about never having more than three plants.. :laughtwo: :laughtwo:

My RH is up in the 90s at night outside but I haven't ever seen PM on a plant here, cannabis or otherwise. Just budrot. I'll see if I can fit a box fan under the tarp...I hate leaving running electrical outside unprotected from the dew.

Tarp is for light block.
I have a question about the light.
And that is...?
Happy Sunday morning Shed. Glad to see things in good shape in your garden. You're having a stellar summer grow!
Thanks otter! I'm very glad I don't grow trees like yours :).
Looking perfect brother! (As usual)
Thanks P, you do a damn fine job yourself. Plants and decking ;).
Outstanding shed :adore:
Thanks Joe...looking forward to your summer outside as well!

I never said never. This is how rumors start! What I said was:
I doubt I'll ever have more than 3 plants on the go at one time
:cheesygrinsmiley:
Nothing less than common place around here. Great as always!
Do you mean "nothing common place..."? Nothing less than common place doesn't sound like a compliment to me!
Looking good @InTheShed Wow, you aren't kidding, you have a lot going on!!
I do, it's very true! And I have way more than three plants

Monday morning update! Let's jump right into the fun...

Let's start with the promised family portrait:

Besides "That's way more than three plants," you're probably thinking, "Hang on a sec...something is missing!" And you'd be right on both accounts. What's missing is the CBD Lemon Potion Auto, harvested today on day 74. I was so tired of looking at its ugly mug that I grabbed a loupe. Cloudy and amber and time to go.

Here it is for the last time:

And here is the underside after chop:

It's a tangled mess and came in at 84g for the entire plant. I washed it in 50/50 H2O2/water because it was loaded with bugs, and as I cut it apart I found some more mold:

Not surprising considering how tightly packed the buds were. I couldn't even find where to cut the lowers off the main trunk. Here is the tiny rootball:

And here it is hanging to dry:

Because of the mold and the bugs, I tossed the soil in the trash. I'm hoping I can get it dry without more mold, so I've got the fan on high aimed at the lower holes to get the moisture out quickly. We'll see!

I hope your weekend went well, and congratulations to the USA Women's World Cup Champions! Great game, well played.
:bravo:

Light Question - When you used your meter to measure sun lumens, how did that compare to a QB, or light array?

congratulations to the USA Women's World Cup Champions! Great game, well played.
:bravo:

:cheer: What a fantastic game! Super tight first half, beautiful goal in the second. I’m a big an of those USA women,

Wonderful family full of variety Shed. Quite a sight to behold all grouped together like that! :yummy:

Shed maybe next time try to defoil a bit more in congested areas ?

Man you are growing some beautiful plants brotha.

Also as far as fans and leaving electrical outside unattended I hear ya.

What about timers so not on all the time?

Doesn't change it I guess ... Or solar powered fans no cords needed?

I just picked up a new box fan at Walmart. It is made to sit in a window and is moisture resistant. The brand name is Lasko.
Might help your situation, might not. Just thought I'd throw it out there.
Your plants are beautiful but I would expect no less.
Have a great day Shed.

Nice update. Your family portrait day is always my favorite. Sorry about the lemon potion, that’s a bummer. But everything else is looking stellar. :yummy:
ps - I have Lasko clip fans and they are good, quality fans.

Excellent group shot! Everything is so green... including your lawn ;)
"That's way more than three plants,"
I had to show that post to my wife - as you might remember, I told her I would only grow 3 plants this year, and somehow I mis-counted. I just got a "humph" from her as she walked away. LOL.
you're probably thinking, "Hang on a sec...something is missing!"
That's exactly what I was thinking!
It's a tangled mess
That was my experience as well. Such a weird bud structure on that plant. Even though my 2nd Lemon Potion is looking much better than the first, it's still got that same bud structure as my 1st one and as yours. :hmmmm: Well, I'm still glad you kept it until harvest!
