OK, new journal time. New strains, new space, more space, another 600w hps soon, light mover soon, more nutes, more knowledge, more privacy.....yeeehah!!

Things are still really makeshift.. I have one 600w set up temp kind in a closet with plastic drapes and an AC cut into the plastic and 8 plants on their 4th day of flower. Pretty ghetto but next week I'll move the 8'x7' room over and the other 600w (its finishing off a batch of Sour D right now...see other journal if you havent already, the SD is real pretty!) and split this batch of eight under both 600s with the 3 Skunk Dogs under one and the 2 PNs and 3 SDs under the other. This batch has been vegged more than my previous batches, so I am hoping for really good results with them under the 2 600s. I have no idea how the SkD or PN perform flowering, so its gonna be interesting, esp. the SkD, it grows really trippy like a vine. Down the road I would love to try it with a vertical cage grow/hanging bulb, it would be so perfect to weave thru a vert cage!!

Anyways, I'll kinda let the pics finish the story for now, and fill in the rest of the details over the next couple weeks as they come together.

All 8 together-

I'll likely take the top off the TW to clone in the next couple days and get her understory bushing out for her future motherly duties, and try to get the top clone into flower for a test run in a month or so.

Just in case I'll let you all know now, in my mind I kinda think theres a decent chance the PN and SkD were incorrectly labeled/switched due to the way the guy descibed their growth characteristics and ease/difficulty of cloning the two (one was supposed to be very easy, one kinda tuff, and they have been the exact opposite so far). At least by the time they harvest I will know for sure, as the PN tastes like grape soda with a mellow high, and the SkD is a crippler.

OK, thats it for now. Like I said, check out my Sour D journal to see what I've been up to leading up to this, and for some decent bud porn. Got a bud up for Nug of the Month too, just a couple more days to vote. In fact, go vote for all the contests if you havent already, its good fun and theres some good nugs, plants, and people to support!

:peacetwo: and Aloha

Right on Bass, the early show is gonna be a little slow, but the girls should start showing their stuff in a couple weeks. I really can't wait to see what the new strains look like in full bud, they're like my christmas present i wrapped the day before xmas and when it opens in 7 weeks it'll be a big surprise!
Aloha and HH to you!

Aloha Wingman! Yep, moving the plants was mellow, pretty much all back country roads (took the long ways...lol). I won't be fully moved over until sometime next week, for now I'm living the REAL high life...two houses, two grows...lol! Hmmm, where do I want to sleep tonight, the penthouse or the estate?!?!
HH to you!

Aloha Brother Bass! Hope you had a great last night of '10, and Happy 1.1.11!

If you come out to see OMM we might have to make it a 3 way gathering and you would definitely have to check out my island and sample some of my goods! That would be a blast!!

Re: Indoor Multiple Strain Perpetual- Sour D, Skunk Dog, Purple Nurple, Train Wreck

Girls are at 1 week of 12/12 now, very nice growth on everything. The P Nurple are really jumping up in height, so much so that I had to bend down the top of one already, might do the same to the other as well. Nice to have strains that are bendable/trainable again, the Sour D (this particular pheno) will break clean off if you tried to bend it more than about 10deg. This being my first run with the PN its nice to see the top can be bent 90deg no problem. The Skunk Dog could pretty much be bent 180deg, in fact I bet I could tie an overhand knot in a stem if I wanted, its gonna be fun to play with over the next months. OK, pics; first group shot, then a few of the PN that I bent the top down-

Group, PN's are back left and front right (tallest, now bent)-

and after-
1_1_11_004.jpg

Hopefully now she will crank a bunch of nice top colas.
Oh yeah, stopped by my friends house the other day, the guy that I got these the PN and SkD from to talk story. I asked about the characteristics of the two so I could figure out if they were really labeled correctly when I got them, and they were right, so the PN really is the PN and SkD is really SkD. Also asked about flowering times on the two, and got super stoked to find out they are both 6-7 week strains, thats potentially 2 weeks less than the SD so that fully rocks. He said esp the PN could finish by 6 weeks, so it will be really interesting to see what its yield potential is seeing as how its getting bigger faster than the others. Guess I'll know in about 5 weeks...lol! Also talked a bit about Train Wreck. I guess I should mention this guy is the real deal expert, has developed his own strains that have been stocked by seed banks for over 10 years, and other really impressive credentials. So he was telling me the Train Wreck gets its heavy stone from the same genetic ancestor as the SkD, and technically I can't write the strain name cause its one of those 'other' drug names, but phonetically its hero-juana with a soft E. So that was kinda cool to know that they are relatives.
Guess thats about all the update and ramble for now. Hope ya'll had a great time last night!!
:peace: and Aloha

Re: Indoor Multiple Strain Perpetual- Sour D, Skunk Dog, Purple Nurple, Train Wreck

Happy new year VanD!!!

Glad to see you got the girls to their new digs:yahoo:Everything lookin good and I got a decent seat :passitleft:

:peace:

Happy New Year Firestone!!

Yep, the girls don't seem to mind their temp digs at all. Next week I'll have the room set up for them, then I can relax a bit more and hopefully just enjoy them.
I think I got a pretty good front row going now between you, Wingman, and Bass, I promise to try to make it at least worth admission price! ;)
Much Aloha and Happy 1.1.11!

Re: Indoor Multiple Strain Perpetual- Sour D, Skunk Dog, Purple Nurple, Train Wreck

So the above pics were taken yesterday, took some more pics today. The Purple Nurple that I bent yesterday looks about perfect today, the top is nearly perfectly aligned horizontally with 5 other tops, so the auxins should be equally spread between 'em. I was told that the PN's can be decent producers, so I hope to see 6 good colas up top, with good understory too.
Here she is (PN)-
1_1_11_1_001.jpg

The Skunk Dog probably wont produce very big buds but lots of them from what I was told, and for sure there is getting to be just a fricken ton on bud sites developing.
1_1_11_1_002.jpg

1_1_11_1_003.jpg

I don't think anything is gonna out-produce the Sour Diesel I have in this run though, these are vegged longer than any other batch I've done, with two that were topped and bushy and still taller than previous batches, and one un-topped thats taller and way more understory branches than previous. Here's one of the bushy ones-
1_1_11_1_004.jpg

So here's a group shot of these three, one of each strain. Skunk Dog on the left, Sour D in the middle, and P Nurple on the right-
1_1_11_1_005.jpg

1_1_11_1_006.jpg

I know at least the Sour D maintains heavy vegetative growth for the first two weeks of 12/12 before slowing/stopping (end up being 2.25x the vertical size it begins 12/12 at, on average). I am not sure of the other two, but theoretically it would be <2 weeks since their flower period is shorter. The PN was about 18" when I put it into flower and already 32" before I bent it over at one week. 3x height increase from beginning to end of flower is about the high average of some strains from what I know, and I am really hoping the PN don't do more than that, at least on this batch. Anyways, thats the scoops for now. For those that need it, I hope you all have some great buds to smoke for hangover helpers today (I guess mainland and beyond have all had plenty time to recover by now, its still early afternoon here and I'm not too rough today, but still just having the first hair o' the dog to make sure!!)
:peace:Aloha, and Happy New Year!!

Re: Indoor Multiple Strain Perpetual- Sour D, Skunk Dog, Purple Nurple, Train Wreck

Hey Van D looks great. Let the fun begin!

Aloha BlueDog and thanks for coming by!! Hopefully it will be a blast. :yahoo::yahoo: Like I said, more room for veg and flower, and more strains, so its fun already. The "real" 1st phase room will be up next week sometime, then gonna split the 8 girls I have now between two 600w to finish. Looking forward to some 6-7 week strains in the mix (the Sour D is 8), and have no idea how its gonna play out as far as keeping solid or mixed "batches" per light or just keep throwing in stuff as space allows. I am once again in uncharted territory. I think it will play out pretty cool tho!

Aloha BigSlim and thanks for checkin out my new grow! Sorry took so long to respond, still jamming trying to get things set up in the short window between the last harvest (other journal) and its final trim while moving myself/belongings and trying to maintain my other work. The end is in sight tho!! :slide::slide:;) Yeah, the LST is sure fun, gonna have a blast with the Skunk Dogs, I got a batch in veg that I am gonna play with a lot before putting into flower. Thanks for the good words on that! This batch I let veg for just over 7 weeks, and I was intentionally underfeeding during about half that time since I was trying to get into the new place and get things set up for them, but they were anxious as hell to grow grow grow!! I dont want anything really getting much over 3' since I use 600's. The Sour D and P Nurple I could probably put into flower by 4-5 (from cutting clone from mom) weeks on a normal cycle pushing with nutes the whole time. The Skunk Dog I want to veg and LST longer, gonna be some experimenting there. Now having tons more room for veg and flower I have a lot more leeway on how I veg stuff, and hopefully can start transitioning to lower plant #'s per 600w footprint with same or higher yield so when I add another 600w I can run the same #'s staying within the laws that apply to my county.
:grinjoint: hehehe, can you tell I got a bit stoned before replying....lol! :tokin: Just had a early sample of the last SD harvest...yep, it works!!
Anyways, like I said, thanks for cruising by, and much aloha!

Re: Indoor Multiple Strain Perpetual- Sour D, Skunk Dog, Purple Nurple, Train Wreck

OK, guess I covered a bit of updates in the above post/reply, but yeah, I'm stoned ;) hehehe, and things are still progressing. I broke down the 8'x7' room and got it set up at the new location. No modifications/expansion yet besides not including the veg ing there, had to just move it over and set it back up as it was. But all the panels (8 wall panels and two roof) made the trip and bolted back together perfect (well, little banging with the hammer, but minors). Gonna keep that dedicated to flowering now and veg in the closet until I can buy/build and insert new panels to configure the new 'real' set-up. But for now I am stoked with how things are, and having the entire 8'x7' for flower instead of fitting veg and flower in the same space, its fricken awesome. Still a couple details to finish tomorrow, but heres a few shots of the room (inside a room) shelled in-

Here's a couple shots of the Purple Nurple, shes definitely out the gates the fastest with the most vert growth, biggest hair balls/early budlets, and some real resin production at just 17 days (potentially just 25 days to go if she's a true 6 week-er) -
1_10_11_006.jpg

1_10_11_007.jpg

1_10_11_007-1.jpg

They got their third watering since putting into flower, the first was simultaneous transplant and move to 12/12 at a medium dose mix of Fox Farm Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Open Sesame, second was medium dose of FF Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, Beastie Bloomz, and blackstrap. Today was just Big Bloom and blackstrap (feeding the soil/root enviro). Next feed I'm going heavy, gonna push for leaf tip burn. I think by week 4 things should really be rocking!!
Tomorrow I'll be setting up the 2nd 600w (BTW, running only Hortilux Eye enhanced spec), get the can fans/filters changing the air at 5 min intervals (as of now just 6" dia. hole at top of room and bigger hole below, fans moving things around, and the AC, should be fine for passive air exchange for a day or so), get the 2nd AC in place (hopefully wont need now that its winter and I am at a little higher elevation), and get things sealed. Thats about it for now I guess. I am stoked on all questions, comments, or complete off topic rambles, so feel free to participate. Until then, much aloha!

Re: Indoor Multiple Strain Perpetual- Sour D, Skunk Dog, Purple Nurple, Train Wreck

no worries bro i kno how it goes i jus moved myself bout a month ago

Moving generally sucks, but since for me its an all around upgrade and I have a month overlap to keep a mellow enough pace, in this one occasion every day of moving is a step further away from stress and into tranquility and progressive sustainability.

Re: Indoor Multiple Strain Perpetual- Sour D, Skunk Dog, Purple Nurple, Train Wreck

well said bro

the ladies are lookin very nice lovin the frost good work

and the room within a room is sweet

Re: Indoor Multiple Strain Perpetual- Sour D, Skunk Dog, Purple Nurple, Train Wreck

Followed your last journel and started the newest. Moving is stressful for everyone, happy the ladies are adjusting. Will follow and good luck. Sour D is my favorite strain, it maybe also my grandson is named Diezel.
