In The Lab

I need some advice for future planning from experienced DBHBB kit growers. I am not a new Cannabis indoor grower but I am new to the kit. I am planning for a full kit grow, i.e. 6 plants in 7 gal cloth pots. In addition I will have two perpetual mothers in 7 gal cloth pots in the kit soil. The plan is to take 6 clones, place into 1 gal plastic pots veg until root bound, transplant into 7 gal cloth pot, bloom and harvest then reconstitute the 1st run soil into a second run soil, transplant 6 new clones from the mothers, veg, bloom, harvest, reconstitute 2nd run soil into third run soil...etc into perpetuity or until the soil cannot be reconstituted again.

Obviously I need 14 extra gallon of soil for the mothers. Perhaps not as obvious, I need 6 gallons of soil for the 2nd run clones/veg while the 1st run is still in late bloom. 20 gallons extra soil total.

Should I purchase two kits? Or is there a way to stretch the kit via extra promix/ewc/extra kit Amendment/ or some other amendments I can purchase from Doc or locally?

How would you tackle this issue?

Thanks for your efforts and time :)

I'd buy everything in bulk. If you are sure you will stay with your plan (excellent plan - who wouldn't?) you will need it all anyway. It gives you flexibility and savings.

Yea but the ammendments are easier to buy by the each and add to a bale.

Easier in bulk. Buy once and you are good to go for years. Mix up any amount of soil at any time.

Okay so it sounds like I should just buy 2 kits and use 1 and 1/3 to begin with that way I'll have the 6 gal of soil waiting to be used when the 1st grow is late bloom and I take cuttings from the mothers, 6 new clones for the second grow. Then if timed right I can reconstitute the 1st run soil into 2nd run while my new 6 clones(in the extra 6 gal first run soil) begin the veg to root bound process. Then transplant into 2nd run soil for the 2nd bloom run etc... Does that sound good?

If you are going to mix 1/3 of a kit, you might as well just mix the whole kit. Then when you harvest you'll have plenty of leaf and roots to feed to the cooking kit. It will keep until you are ready to use it or throw some tomatoes and peppers in your extra soil. My first kit cooked for like 5 months and it was just fine.

Don't get me wrong I'm trying to store up a bunker of DBHB shizzles, just that a couple kits would probably be a good start for a first timer, simplifying a tiny bit.

Go ahead and back that dump truck of DBHB and unload it on my face, bukkake styles.

Get two, make the soil all at once, and you'll have enough to play with.

I can't follow all the 6 plants, clones, mothers, gallons thingy.

Just get two kits, 2 bales, 60 or so lbs of EWC and mix it up.

You guys are funny as hell. Where the kit goods are concerned. More is better. I did not run out of anything in my first round except for some Roots! close to the end and that was because I used it to cut in trimmings into the other half I didn't use. That stuff is unused, but tuned and is what these plants are in.

These are after 5 days close to 90f as I was without AC and ambient temps were in the 90's outside.

They were healthy as can be and handled it well...

It seems to be a fairly decent way to grow cannabis, those baggies of rocks and the juice of the fish. :smokin2:

I wonder if you could replace "fish" with "insect".

Just a little future proofing. The oceans are dieing.

When the insects start to die we'll have real problems.

that's a good quesiton. I don't know if there's a direct replacement of one thing for another, but certainly it's worth investigating. I was going to use insect frass, but then I realized that I have enough bugs and mites that with successive runs of soil I'm probably about where the dose of frass should be, except I have the exoskeletons for calcium too.

The oceans could come back in 2 years if nations cooperated and everyone took pressure off the fisheries. It's really quite sad as well as troubling what is going on these days. Sometimes, if I've been smoking a lot of Grape Stomper and doing deep stretches for a half hour or so, I begin to suspect that someone powerful wants us all dead. Drugs, Wars, sterile soil, violence, poisonous food....I think the human race is low brix.

Something has to change.

That would also explain why the people we elect to govern us all seem to actually truly Be stupid. I understand that looking sorta stupid when you're campaigning helps you get elected - people don' like smart guys - but they continue to act stupid after they win. I ask myself why. :hmmmm: It's almost like they get into office and then someone tells them the truth and they become just another political drone spouting nonsense and pretending to be useful.

It's almost like someone else is actually running the show. Aliens or sumpin, dunno. Maybe there are rogue nukes planted in all our cities and we have to go along with some weird elaborate ruse. It's just all so patently double-o stoopid. Why do they act that way, year after year? We could actually use some help 'bout now. I don' get it.

Its also the fertilizers from big AG flowing down stream into the oceans, all around the deltas of every major stream are vast dead zones in coral which is the micro biota of the ocean if you will. Add to that the pesticides, insecticides, all the raw untreated cow shit, the sometimes untreated human shit, the always treated waste water with its estrogen that they can't filter (billion dollar patent there if you can figure it out), inland oil spills, inland ecosystem disasters, Dams, is it a wonder why seals are floating up on the Pacific coast, turtles floating up on the Atlantic coast, ridiculous sized algae plumes, deep ocean oil spills, vast thousand mile wide plastic vortexes in the oceans, giant methane clouds right here in Colorado where the Fracking wells and the cows shit gets sprayed into the air, extreme CO2 increases, 500 of 1400 glaciers gone in ten years, the rest all dwindling, the ocean currents failing due to fresh water run off from the glaciers, changes in the weather due to the ocean currents change, and nobody in Cali too worried about the impending human catastrophe when the fresh water runs out, biggest drought in thousands of years. And Vegas pumping up one of the biggest aquifers on the planet so they can have swimming pools and water displays on the strip in a desert. Fracking wells are contaminating all the fresh water aquifers. The Earth is already an avalanche and there is nothing we can do to stop it, its just so big it seems slow but the mass is beyond comprehension. Humans are extremely low brix. The bright spot is that we can grow weed and watch it all happening. That sounds sarcastic but if you consider over 112 Billion lived here at some point in history and we might be the ones that see the end...its kind of special. End Rant:)
