Another Saturday night and another
HYENA'S GROW HOUSE update!
When I left at 6 am to shoot up to the grow hacienda, I planned on not much work and a quick turnaround. Wrong.
The Indica girls in Tent #2 are busting loose!
I'm soooo impressed I might just clone these and run them again. I have lost track of which is Incredible Bulk and which is Delhi Friend but I love 'em both. I have an indicator in each bucket which tells me what's in it but I can't see those. Let's just say they're healthy.
Did yet another big defoliation and got this bunch just about where I want them. Going to be a nice wide hedge in another week maybe...
So I got to thinking maybe next week I will clone from these, I mean, they look so damn good why pop a bunch of $15 seeds? I thought about it and the pros and cons as I unzipped tent #1 where my first effort at growing clones is working out pretty well...
WOW, everything in here went from white to orange in 6 days! The whole room is popping, it almost seems like they grew two weeks' worth in one week.
The frostation is really coming on now...
The lower height of this canopy is allowing outstanding sidelighting and production will be a lot better this harvest! I am getting really meaningful development a LOT further down the branches than last time and the additional lighting everything gets just by being at the right height is producing a forest of fur.
So now I'm thinking it will be a real stretch to keep this running until Monday May 11th. Because we're going on a four-day beach getaway in Florida, and it takes three days to chop and hang a harvest like this, I either chop on Monday April 4th, or Monday April 11th. We'll see on the next visit whether it will be possible to let it go that long. The way it looks now it seems like it could be ready in 2 weeks.
That forced my hand. I had to clone today to have them ready...or not at all.
So we cloned.
It's the same feeling I used to get at 2:30 am on Christmas morning when I would sit down to assemble a big, complex toy of some sort...putting the whole cloning system back together took two dedicated hours. There is a lot more to it if you plan to turn it on and leave for a week.
I took branches, all lowers that I was going to trim off anyway, of various sizes. Everything I do I try to establish a variable and learn something. I have a feeling bigger might be better but hey, I love to hypothesize and test those theories. We'll see.
As soon as I stick these cuts into the cloner and turn it on, it immediately begins washing off the Clonex gel that I dipped the stems into. It worked last time but It also took two weeks to see the first root bumps, maybe having it on there longer might give the cuttings a better start. So this time I trimmed them then stuck them into the Clonex gel and they soaked for awhile, up to 15 minutes for some.
Maybe that initial shot of hormones will be better absorbed and they will root even faster. We'll see. I got everything cut and trimmed and gel'd if that's even a word, and set all the timers. They look a little worse for wear at first but in a week I fully expect to see 14 perky, healthy little clones!
So that's the status, I'm interested as hell now to see if I'm going to be able to super stretch this grow and maybe get into the bonus zone, or if it has to be hacked before our trip. Stay tuned! In six days we will know!
4/20 looms.
I'm sure I'll have a special, even more rambling and incoherent entry for 4/20. Why not? Talk is cheap!
Peace, Hyena
