Yes, I considered the caregiver route vs. growing just for myself...and the caregiver thing is great...unless you are doing this to also make money. :)

Congratulations on the new house and deciding to use the new system. Sounds like both are perfect for you.
 
Hmm yeah the legal market is kinda a mess. We are just finally getting prices where they should be here in AK. No one wants to pay that 60 an 8th... luckily they dont charge too much to license, it's just a laborious procedure.

I'm sure pulling for ya hyena! I like the idea of going to cups and being able to smoke up with other 420 members who bootstrapped their way into the industry.

Sadly as you mentioned you have people who never smoked weed starting a business and deciding what "quality" is.... facepalm! But if you look at the beer industry,there are lots of craft companies doing really well. My hope is that cannabis follows suit.

Good points. Humans have been trading goods successfully for 100,000 years...supply meets demand and things take care of themselves with minimal regulation. I believe markets will achieve ideal equilibrium, and rather quickly, if simply left to themselves to do so. It is always the rulegivers, who often do not even understand the product nor the natural market, who slow development.

I believe we will see a real drop in the price of cannabis over the next five years as legality gains territory, but especially as those on the regulatory end of things realize they must COMPETE with the black market...and BEAT it...or they will only empower it and drive consumers to it with over-burdensome taxes and regulations.

One of my travel goals is to visit Alaska...nice to hear it is allowing the markets to stabilize.

Now I am going crazy having to wait a couple weeks to begin...actually three. We are going on a week-long vacation the first week of April so even on a cruise ship in the Caribbean I will be the guy with the faraway look, thinking about the adventure to come. But it will be here in no time.

I'm stoked to try ebb and flow, though honestly I would have duplicated my present system if I could have found 5 gallon Bato buckets because it works so good and it's so simple, but it only works if the buckets are above the reservoir and I would need higher ceilings than I have. So, next best is definitely ebb and flow for reliability and safety. Once I add an additional 55-gallon reservoir to each setup I should have reliable, simple automation with only a handful of mission-critical parts, hopefully allowing up to a week between visits. That's the goal.

Thanks brother...it is a little strange to be going on a vacation anticipated for 6 months...and then almost wish it wasn't on so I could get right to work on my dream project...almost! Funny thing is, only about a week after I booked this whole cruise thing, Michigan legalized cannabis, suddenly changing the game completely! So as my plan evolved, the months passed, and now vacay and takeover of my new grow house are the same week. I guess I'll take vacation if I absolutely have to.

And thus stay married. :circle-of-love:

I will need the rest. Building two entire grow ops will take a lot of effort I think.

Nope...never got any pollen, though a lot of little bananas appeared. The seeds would be good for home use but to do a real commercial release would require multiple generations of selection and breeding...too much time and work.

Just going to grow a lot instead. :ganjamon:

Hey hey hey...

I guess it's the first HYENA'S GROW HOUSE REPORT!

I was up until 2 am scheming and researching this new grow house project, and 7 am came early. I had to fix my coffee and my head...

Into the truck and 3 hours of driving, meeting the guy I bought the house from supposedly. I ran into tons of construction traffic, then he had a problem and was very late. But the bottom line...

I took possession of the house today!!

It's MUCH nicer (and bigger) than I remember...and ready to grow, grow, grow!!

I had the electrical done today while I was up there. I had them add a 50-amp dedicated 240 circuit which should be all I ever need for my lights...and now the place is ready to begin the ultimate grow house!! As I walked all through it I couldn't believe how perfect it is for what I want to do...a total dream come true to have this opportunity and I'm soooooo stoked it's impossible for words to convey! Finally I locked her up and started home, dreams of forests of lollinugs dancing in my head all the way.

We leave for our cruise in 24 hours, and a week of total relaxation. I will need it because the amount of work it will take to create a dream grow operation will be immense. But I am up for it! When we return I will take you on an adventure in growing that most only dream about, and it will all be real!

Stay tuned dear friends! We will have a total blast very soon!!!

But first, time to commune with nature's sea creatures...
