Happy Thursday!
Here's the latest Project 25 update, plus:
The GROWSTAR GS1000 LED light test update!
First, here's how the secret grow lab looks...
You talk about healthy...these plants are all monsters now. I actually fear for my life.
I'm having to break almost every major branch over, some two or three times. The shit is tall, people. And strong. I snap the crap out of them and not even one has suffered any ill effects, they just keep growing...growing...
Hyenas are lovely, fuzzy little critters when they flower...
The Hyenas are just busting with second-wave floral clusters! All the pearly-white pistils, displaying proudly at every node on every plant...these girls really want to bud! Wave two looks juicy and is coming in very fast.
Relief: at this point I can say they are all within 10% the same size...my hope was that the early pronounced difference in the size of the plants was a rate of growth thing, not a big and small pheno. It still might be that, I don't know for sure, but even if it is, they both end up the same size and vigor. I can see no significant difference between any of them at this point. That's one good thing in favor of my seeds...people want to grow plants that are all just like the picture on the seed pack. And they will, but only if they happen...
Good news on that!! The first pollen sacs have appeared!
Yes, as usual in life, just when you give up things happen! I frankly never imagined male flowers would appear from the center of already-established female floral clusters but there they are, unmistakably!
Now new questions arise...can I still achieve the seed project? I only see a few nodes showing a small number of male clusters. How much pollen can a few little flowers produce, and how well can I distribute it? We know one rogue banana can create a significant number of seeds when you don't want it to happen (that's how this all started!), but realistically I need 5,000 really prime ones...is it possible without branches full of pollen pods?
We shall now possibly find out those answers. At least the seed project, the primary goal of the grow, is apparently back on.
All made possible in significant part by the GROWSTAR GS1000 LED light!
The light has proven its value beyond any doubt! Look at the plants responding to the BLOOM spectrum:
I cut the GROW lights, just to give a week with only BLOOM lamps lit...no loss in vigor whatsoever. In fact, the blooming continues with equal success even when compared directly to the 600W HPS next to it! The plants on both sides are developing and especially BLOOMING exactly the same!
Comparing the growth and health of the plants during the BLOOM phase was the final test of the GROWSTAR GS1000. It has supported excellent growth through all phases. While using 1/3 less power than the 600W HPS HID!
More proof that the GROWSTAR GS1000 LED is a great product.
That's all for now! Getting exciting!
P.S.: I noticed this morning that I was nominated in the member of the month contest. I don't know if it's appropriate to comment but I'm going to.
I don't think it's a contest at all. Every month I look at the names and often check out the ones I don't know, because everybody in there, month after month, is always among the most knowledgeable, productive growers out there. They are always the people I can learn from. They are always the names you keep seeing with helpful posts and interesting grows.
Because of my sincere respect for everyone nominated
I have never voted in the contest...it's always more like a ring of honor in my view and that's why I don't. I am honest so I wanted all to know that.
With that said I'm flattered to be nominated. It's not why I write on this site, it is completely unexpected and whatever person or persons thought enough of my musings to do so needs their head(s) examined. But, humbly, thanks.
Peace, Hyena
