Hydroponics

Nice grow rooms! How many rooms do you use to grow in? Also how do you like the aero flo 36?

I'll be using 3 rooms for this project. One room dedicated to vegetive phase, cloning and mother care. One room to flower plants from seed that were selected for motherhood with a easy way to seperate and kill off any males. And the last room that has not been built to play with a diy flooding tube thing and the aero flo 36 for flowering clones. I like the system but only have a years experience with it. Its a tempermental machine if the temps get too hot in the resevoir.

Nice clean set up your aero 36 is that a spray or flood system

Its kinda both lol. You flood the tubes and have control of the flood height by raising and lowering tubes that sit vertically inside the flood tubes and the water delivery uses laser jet lines that spray jets of water between every plant site.

Man what a nice set up.....your gonna have a nice harvest.

Thank you. I am hoping the new genes put out some strong hitters but we shall see. I'll probally start germing some northern lights in december and then hopefully a new strain every month or 2.
Looks to only have been 4 males in the garden, Those males are dead dead. I will still keep a eye out for males and I gotta start soon.

Hey Mr. Smith, Excellent looking plants and set up. I took me a bit to get here , but I'm couchlocked and loaded. I cant wait to see the progress.

The average height when I started to flower was about 20 to 22 inches tall.

How tall will those plants get when they stop stretching? Those should be some big girls when it's all said and done huh?

This is the roots I have after 10 days on the clones. At this moment and time I do not need the clones so I trashed them and will clone again when its ready.

Here is the setup before the transplant. Same day I took the pic of the clone roots.

This is the first time I ever used this medium. Its called Sure To Grow.

DSC01426_005_edited-1.jpg

I had to cut a 4 inch hole. I used a pair of scissors.

My fastest transplant ever, no prerinse, I think I really like this stuff.

Looking good. To bad you couldnt put those clones to use I sure would have lol. Good to see some one using sure to grow media will be really watching and learning ;)

I've watched all the video's on the SuretoGrow website. I'm ditching the Hydotron on the next run. This looks like a really great medium. You can't beat the setup time, practically nil. Although it's a one-time shot each grow, are you cool with the pricing as compared to Hydrotron?

I am curious why you decided to stick with the Rockwell cube. Will you switch to the Suretogrow starter plugs and smaller cubes in the future?

Really love your setup!

The medium works just like rockwool but its steril and it doesn't have the ph problems like rockwool and there is no presoak time. The price was awesome,$8.06 for a case of 6 inserts and since its a one time use, cleaning and restup should allso be a breeze. Hydrotron is $49 for a 50 liter bag, takes forever to rinse and fills 7 to 8 buckets but is reusable if you take the time to clean it which is a bitch at times.
I am using rockwool cubes cause I have alot of it and I want to use them up, since I have a powercloner I nolonger use them for cloning so I have been using them for germing (not the best medium for germing).

A pic from 3 days ago

The bubblegum wiil be added to the flower room as soon as presex has started so I can remove one female to be used as a mother then I will start germing some more seed stock of a different flavor.

Thanks Andy, what sale are you managing? Kush?
Well here's a close look at the orange bud and afganica.

DSC01480_001_edited-1.jpg

This Afganica plant is a thick stretchy plant, tallest of the afgans.

DSC01481_002_afganica.jpg

This one is the shortest and least mature afgan. She doesn't like the low humidity and cold temp.

This afganica is lookin very good, we have alot of different pheno types with the Afganica.

DSC01483_004_afganica.jpg

This plant is like a tall ugly version of the short plant.

Now here's the pretty afganica plant.

Those are the 5 afganica plants.

Hiya Mr. Smith

Most excellent jungle you have going! Just another quick question, as I'm somewhere in the midwest and also dealing with lower temps and humidity in the basement during these months.

What's the temp and RH you're dealing with? And more importantly how do you deal? Humidifier? Space heater? Just curious.

Oh and what's your early opinion of the SuretoGrow, after a week or two? Do you see any gravity issues and leaning of the plants? (Someone else (on another journal) was hard on suretogrow, I guess they had a bad rep early on, but I'm really sold so far)

Thanks again for sharing your journal.

Very interesting grow Mr. Smith. Some great ideas there that I may have to incorporate into my own future efforts.

Looks like some monster colas in the making.

I'll be dropping in to see more. :thankyou:

32 to 47% humidity, 60f to 68f on the temp. I am going to put a 5 gallon bucket of water and run a electric heater tonight to try and correct the problem. My exhaust runs all the time because of smell control. I have a climate controller but its being used in another grow op.
I think I am sold on the Sure to grow medium. I have notice that the plants are always hungry for more water in this new medium even though it retains alot of water. Probally because its steryl and ph inert.
