3rd day means water day. Bumped up to 6.5 on The green Diamond and Brain Killer Haze 1. Little nervous but we will see. Everything else got 5.8 Gm-gallon.
Wife transplanted her Jack Herrer fast this morning to a 7 gallon pot. Being her first official cannabis grow she learned that root bound is important. It answered the question “why is my plant droopy now?” Like any morning that you jump out of bed and have an hour to water everything I knocked over the two solo cups. Grrr. The K8 fell out. I found a breached plant in the seed. I removed the shell from the root and re-planted with the leaves just level with the soil.

From failing, we learn! From success, not so much. Thanks for sharing your discoveries with us! What exactly caused the root binding? Just too small a pot?

The small pot. I had been telling her for a week it was time. This plant is throwing massive fan leafs out and has a huge stalk.

I don’t get to take pictures with lights off much so I took advantage this morning. Everything is so green and beautiful. Brain Killer haze 1 is likely going to be a lb plant. It with its twin sister has a very long flower time, stacking like it is now I have no doubts.

Day 3 is water day. I can say I have very little luck with Seedsmans freebies. Seems any I buy never have issues. The free ones work about 15% of the time. So 2-K8 seeds didn’t grow right, I dropped a wedding cake for replacement. Gave all the flowering plants some cal mag and protekt. I read yesterday that Mega Crop is bumping up the cal/mag and dropping the P a little. I am awaiting it to be in stock. Now I will buy a big bag.

I read yesterday that Mega Crop is bumping up the cal/mag and dropping the P a little.
I guess they finally realized the issues many growers were facing when overfeeding their plants. The original I have is 14% so it'll be interesting to see where they end up. I think adding more Ca and Mg may be a mistake. That's going to cause new issues.
:thanks:

I’m having to run cal/mag on my plants now. May have to run a PK booster in flower in the future. We will see. You finish the old bag yet?

Sorry Hydro I was referring(I should have stated it) to the soil growers. Everyone that I have seen using MC with Hydro/Passive Hydro needs calmag at one point. It will definitely help in those cases.

No, probably not until long after death :)

Two of my plants in soil have been cal/mag hungry. The other 3, no issues. I’m curious to why you think the extra cal/mag will be an issue. Still new in soil. I used cal/mag lightly in my dwc but never large amounts.

The Green Diamond and BK Haze 1 both balked a little at the 7.0 MC dose. I could never get the Green Diamond to pull the dark green back which led to the 7.0. I will back off 1/2 gram this feeding. Getting some minor tacoing on the Skunk#1, I will back off the MC .250 on the next feed. The Franco Cheese is still showing some cal/mag issues. Minor but there.

I’m curious to why you think the extra cal/mag will be an issue. Still new in soil.
Soil stores excess nutrients whereas a DWC or coco grow the nutrients are on demand. It's the main reason why you see changes so quicky in hydro type grows.
When you have an excess amount of Ca and Mg you start to lockout other nutrients such as P and K. Many users find themselves giving more MC because the plant looks healthy. In soil the plant only uses what it wants at the time. Then all of a sudden in flower the plant demands more K but it can't get it becasue of the excess Ca and Mg.
The chart below looks confusing but once you start to understand it things will make sense.

1588975345103.png

So when I hear of people having to add Calmag and they are using MC as well the first thing I want to know is that they are following the calculator's max dosage and not going over that. If you feed high amounts of P and K to the plant, which we know MC is high in, then you start to lockout Ca and Mg. By doing a quick rinse of the soil and coming back with a lower amount of nutrients the problems correct themselves.
Growers using MC see the Ca and Mg def and naturally add more calmag.
