Hydro Russian Rocket in Grow Cabinet

We purchased a Personal Grow Cabinet for our virgin grow. It is a self contained cabinet with a 10 gallon reservoir and 4 (4-pin) 125 watt 6500 CFL lights which are adjustable up and down....purchased Russian Rocket, Indica, feminized, auto-flowering seeds. We planted 4 in the 4-3 inch grow baskets with rockwood cubes as the median. We set the auto watering to 5 times a day with the lights on 24 x 7 and 2 inches above the basket. Water ph was unknown at this point. Our only knowledge of growing is from the grow journals on this forum. The following is a journal from planting on 2-7-13 until the present. Will post henceforth, weekly or as needed.

2-10 Checked the ph which was 7.4. Added 1 gallon of water and PH down which reduced the PH to 6.4.

2-11 Checked PH and it was back to 7.4. Added more PH down with one 32 ounce pitcher of water.

2-13 The PH and water were okay and 2 of the 4 seeds are sprouting.

2-14 3rd seed sprouted

2-15 thru 2-20 Added 1-2 pitchers of water daily and PH down. Having trouble maintaining PH at proper levels. First two sprouts wilted and look to be gonners. Cut back to watering to 4 times daily from 5 times daily.

2-21 PH is finally stable. Added nutrients for the first time. Using General Hydroponics Flora Series. Added nutes at 1/2 of recommended label directions as we were afraid of damaging plant. Added 1.5 teaspoons each of grow, micro and bloom. 2 of the 3 seeds died, one never came up but the last one is looking good.

2-25 Plant looking good, PH stabile and no water added.

2-28 Added PH down, water level good, added more nutes at 1/2 of recommended level.

3-3 Plant is finally taking off. Probably should have added nutes from the beginning. Plant is 3" high.

3-5 Whoa baby, it is smelling soooooooo good. Added ona gel to exhaust vent cup of cabinet to cut down on smell. Entire room smells. Also raised the lights up 2 inches off of plant.

3-7 Added nutes at 3/4 recommended level. Also PH was high so we reduced to 5.5 with PH down.

3-9 Raised light. PH and water level checked - they were both good

3-11 Had to raise light again - PH and water level good - growing GREAT

3-14 Plant looking great - about 9" tall and 12 " wide - had to move light up more. Added nutes at full strength.

3-18 Plant is now 12" tall and 16" wide - moved up light

3-21 Added nutes and 1 gallon of water. Plant is 17.5" high, moved up light.

3-24 Plant topping out against highest setting of light. Bent stems over and attached fishing lead weights to hold branches over.

This plant appears to be doing well. Not sure whether it needs to bed thinned our for light or not. Adding a few more pictures. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Thanks so much for the feedback - these were feminized auto grow seeds that I was under the impression didn't have to have dark. If I go to 12/12 now will it hurt anything?

Ooh, I forgot about that part. Some get bigger than others. Won't hurt to put them on a timer now, but...
When you bend branches gently, it's called low stress training(LST). When you bend a stalk harshly enough to break it over, it's called super cropping. Does not kill the bent top, just re-directs new growth towards the new 'up'.

Some growers like me prune away fan leaves that shade bud sites. Since many leaves will wither from light starvation anyway, after buds form try to let light fall on them.

Thanks for the feedback. Is it too late to prune away some of the fan leaves? I was afraid it might shock the plant. Also, if anyone has any advice on flushing. Didn't know if I needed to do this and if so at what point? I read where some do and some don't. There is an aerator in the water tank if that helps any.

Flushing is like 1,2,3. Change water for fresh, run a bit, change again and add some nutes. Timing is variably correct. Careful tracking of ppms & pH give you, with experience a date to flush. Now is good :)
Sensible pruning does not shock healthy cannabis, and yours is robust.

3-28 Our little plant was out of control so we trimmed a ton of the fan leaves off, added 2 gallons of water and nutes. The PH level is holding at 5.5.

Things seem to be going well with Josephine. She is flowering nicely.

4-5-13 Tested ph and it is at 5.7 and added nutrients. Took a few new pics.

Okay - I have a couple of questions.....Josephine is really coming along and I was wondering if we need to flush and add nutrients or just need to flush? She is an auto and we have had the lights on 24 - do we ever need to put her in the dark?

I am uncertain about the next steps....I know it is hard to tell but from what you can see in the pictures is it time to stop the nutes and start flushing?

The seeds from start to finish stated 70-75 days and we are on day 62. Thanks again for your input. I want to make sure we don't cut it too soon.

your plants still look very light to me, i think they need longer. i would pick up a 30x jewellers loop so you can see the trichomes and judge when you want to harvest. wait until you have 5% to 30% amber trichomes it is your choice. plan to feed your plants either water alone or water with 1-2 tablespoon per gallon of un sulfered molasses for at least the last 5 -7 days before you harvest.
