Hi cann!

I'd love to answer that but I have no idea .

Anybody else?l

Well, the answer is every day. There is nothing in those listed media that the plant can use, they simply support the plant and hold a little water.

Those media are ideal for hydro or especially a setup where you flood/drain, but unless you use real soil there is really nothing the plant gets from the media. It all comes from the nutes in the water.

Peace, Hyena

So here's the big update!

I posted this pic last week

and expressed some disappointment with my estimation of the weight. Happily, it turned out a little better than I guessed. All told, 8oz from 6 plants. Potency is really top notch on all 3 strains. Can't wait for it to cure a bit and let all those proper flavors and aromas develop properly. Just ordered some boveda 58% as I found the 62 to be just a tad moist for me.

Trainwreck:

Gorilla Glue:

They are all deliciously distinct and bear the expected strain features as best I can tell. I am just hoping the Diesel gets a bit more fuelly. It's there but barely.

Here's a quote from the budtender:

"Me and my dad both said it felt like this stuff got us higher than yours did. Not saying anything bad about yours, but this stuff made me feel like my eyes were popping out of my head, like getting high the first time when i was 15. Lol."

These guys have been daily smokers of brick weed for decades. Thank goodness MA finally allowed them to produce some decent weed!

My share worked out to 35g Diesel, 52g Glue, 27 Trainwreck.

Just enough to get to next harvest .

Congratulations on the harvest pal, the buds look really frosty and of great quality. A job well done, quality is far better than quantity.

I agree with you on feeding techniques and if it was up to me, I'd have a feed control like TK has. However, my collaborative grow operation has other decision makers who are still trying to learn everything. They are basically on their second grow and we still have some things to figure out.

I tried to convince them to jump directly into hydro where I feel most comfortable but they were still living the fantasy that they could just chuck a seed in some dirt and it would magically produce great weed. Their awakening is progressing at the normal rate now .

For now, hand watering is how they want to go no tubing, hoses, or pumps!

Happily, I have convinced them to add 1/3 growstone to aerate the coco and, in theory, help us feed more often.

I am familiar with Cultivator. I watched a lot of TK's first grow pretty carefully and became quite a fan of Cultivator's skills.

I will admit I love the watering system pal, it's amazing but hand feeding is absolutely fine and you will get great results but you need to make sure you water every 24 hours with nutrients, it's really important. Cultivator really expressed the importance of watering at least once a day with nutrients and he really knows his stuff, I've learnt so much from him.

You really need to have a chat with your grow buddy's and explain the situation. If they're still trying to learn they really should consider listening to some quality advice or you're not going to get the results you want. They will do great with hand watering but just need to realise they need to feed more often than if it was soil. Slow puffer is getting amazing results with hand watering once a day and I'm feeling 3 times a day with great results, maybe you should show your grow buddy's the results we're getting? I'd just hate to see you not get the results you're all after. It's funny you say that, some people really do think you can chuck a seed into some soil and poof magical perfect buds lol.

Thanks TK!

I am really quite happy with the harvest!

And since the electricity is not on my dime at the moment, I don't mind letting them learn at their own pace as long as I get what I need. It's wayyyyy easier than butting heads, I think .

But I am still pushing in the right direction. Slow and steady wins the race, my friend.

We just got the red Kush males culled and 5 remaining ladies transplanted into 3 gallon pots from <1 gal. And they were so wet all thru veg that the coco started smelling like mildew. They've been flowering for 13 days now. Yeah, I know - not a great time to transplant but at least they will drain a whole lot better with the growstone added.

That's the kind of crap we're still stuck dealing with due to some circumstances beyond our control but we get better and better every week. .

I bet, I'd be happy too, the buds look great.

Ahh that's a bonus that the electric is not on you, can't complain. As long as you're moving in the correct direction that's all that matters. Slow and steady certainly wins the race.

I'm sure it will all be fine, it's crazy how resilient these plants are. Got my fingers crossed for you getting a good result pal, red kush sounds tasty as hell lol.

Had a few strains to test Friday....

Thank goodness I can finally post pictures again! It's been a couple days at least. Finally after deleting the 420 app from my iPhone and reinstalling it, the appearance is different and it's working so much better! If you have problems, try that!

Hey TK! Thanks a million for all your helpful posts and also for talking so highly of Mr. Cultivator. Your glowing comments about Cult and also your personal results have definitely made an impression on me.

My grow buddy is starting to come around to the right way of thinking. He and I had agreed that the plants were starving a couple weeks back so he gave them a few (high ppm) big feeds to get back on track. He went the right direction but a little too far and the result was a little burn. Not terrible... He caught it super early because he is very observant in the grow room on a daily basis.

So anyway, after that experience he talked of basically starting from scratch with much lower PPM and re-writing his feed charts...

At which point I jumped all over researching Cult's coco thread and made my own recipe proposal using the nutes I have already. I am awaiting feedback from my budtender to see if we're going this way or not :fingers crossed:!!!!!!!!!

Hey pal. Don't mention it, glad to of helped :).

Ahh well Mr Cultivator is a legend and he deserves the praise, he helps so many people with great advice which will deliver results if you follow them. Thanks pal, appreciate that, I'm pretty thrilled with my results so far but eager to learn as much as I can and be able to improve to grow to the best of my ability.

That is fantastic news that he is coming around buddy, the results really do speak for them selves. Sounds like he pays a lot of attention to his plants, that's a great thing and now he's ready to take some advice too, think your next lot of plants are going be a game changer for you both ;). I can't wait to see the results.

Awesome, I've just seen you've done a new feeding schedule over in cults coco journal, looks good pal. If you stick to his recommendations For EC and PH and make sure you feed every 24 hours with nutrients slowly building your way up with the feed sizes you will have absolutely no problem and get great results. I'm really loving the coco so much, such a great medium to grow in, the plants absolutely love it.

EBnFLO, you will not be disappointed !! Just my 2 cents !!

Quick update:

These red kush just finished week 4 flower on 4/14 so today is day 32.

They transitioned kinda slowly due to a brief over feeding situation but all seems to be going very well now.

Anybody growing asparagus? Mine just started shooting .
420-magazine-mobile1636461391.jpg

Thanks guys,

I am south of Worcester, so nowhere near the coast.

I did plant this asparagus patch myself in some really great deep dark soil. I maintain it every year with a shallow tilling and fertilizer. My sister also has a patch in MA and she never produces quite as early as I do but she doesn't take care of it like I do either. I assume those crazy warm temps last week got them going but now they'll slow down and wait for the sun to come back.
