Did you splash something on those leaves? It's either that or the part of the root that corresponds to that set of leaves was damaged somehow. Either way is should be no big deal if it's isolated to that site.

U are EXACTLY right MC!..I noticed this mornin when i lifted up the lid,the roots stoped growing on one side of the cup and shifted to the other...weird...ill take pics tonight but thats what happened.

Yes it means I experienced it and it wasn't fun until I figured it out. In my case it was too much nutes in too little water poured directly on the roots of the plant next to the maintenance port. Now I pull a gallon if it's still "at level" and it needs a nute boost.

they startin to plump up nicely..
I bought a 500w eq. CFL 4100k but it busted as it fell out the package (spiral)
Gonna put 2 of the 6500k 400w eq. cfl as side lighting asap! They will work fine using HID lighting as long as they at least the same wattage or equivalent ..When i used the 2 400w cfls with my hid on my afgan grow ,it seems like at this stage they were a lil fatter....gotta get those bulbs! THEY HUGE! Made by EIKO.

How far do you keep those cfl's away from the side? Are they in a reflector on the side? With my 400 mh/hps on top, I was wondering if it would be effective to use the big ones on the side. I have some with not a lot of milage on them that would work well.

im going but 2 4100K spiral cfl(500w eq.) 105w.
i bought one last week but it busted as soon as it came out the pack
so ill get 2 more for side lighting tomorrow..if they have the 6500k im getting those
i put em damn near on the plant...just close enough so it wont burn em...

That was kind of my question. How close do you think you can get the 105's? I'm thinking it might depend on ventilation in the area.

105's and up run about twice as hot as 65w-45w cfls. but they put out twice as much so they are more efficient.

They are a little harder to handle putting them in the socket. Suckers are heavy and they don't spin in your hand quite as easy. I haven't broken one yet ( oh shit, I'm doomed - better just get out the dustpan) but I dropped one and it hit my foot but didn't break! I yelled "kick save" and the wife thought I had gone looney (again).
I keep mine in the 4-6" range depending on what the plant tells me. That's why I asked if anyone thought it more benefical to go small but close vs. bigger but slightly further away. I'm sure there's a chart somewhere but I do know that some light is better than no light.

These spiral 105's hardly put out ANY heat..thats why i put em so close.....Like Mc said it's basically what the plant tells me

I put 105s 3 or 4 inches close. Many 105s will not work in the Clamp Reflectors and you have to add an extension socket to get it to burn. I like the 105 Spirals better than the U-shaped tubes.

i have to agree...these nes i have,as long as the laf aint touchin it you good...they practically put out no heat...they made by EIKO.
i added 2 in yesterday.i love these cfls...and yea they make this lil extension just big enough to let you screw the bulb in all the way with the hood.
