Hutch's First Grow: Amnesia Haze Auto In ProMix HP

Week 11
Amnesia Haze Auto Day 77 (Day 37 of Flower)

Howdy folks! A quick update with some photos and a couple of questions.

IMG-1493.JPG

Most of the nitrogen excess has drained from her leaves giving most of them a lighter green tone.

IMG-1494.JPG

It seems like a lot of leaves are turning yellow. I wonder if this is just old age or is this nitrogen depletion or another deficiency?

IMG-1498.JPG

I notice that the tops are more mature than buds further down the branches. Is this normal? And do some people harvest the mature buds and leave the others to continue?

Hope to be back later today with more updates - see you later!

How long has that been in flowering? The leafs are actually supposed to turn yellow as the plant sucks the nutrients out to feed itself extra.. supposedly that's a good thing..

I don't think it's too serious. At least I hope not but I notice the closer my plants get to harvest the more yellow leaves appear. I just remove them if they get really yellow.

@Blew Hiller, I have no other way to vent but back into the closet. I do have power and the door is actually accordion-style, very leaky. Would a carbon filter even work in those conditions? I live in an apartment building and I'm very worried that the neighbours will complain about the smell. What would be the best solution?

What about a commercial ozone generator? Would that do the trick?

Read down like 3 paragraphs.. explains why they are yellow. and i wouldn't pull them unless they are totally dead.. basically taking away extra food from the plant :) looks good though to me..

Hi Icetech, thanks for that article. I hope that plant nearing the end of its blooming period is the reason. It makes sense. She's an auto at day 77 and the breeder, Seedsman, says 80-84 days. I know we can't trust the breeders on this but I've been wanting this to be true. My instinct says to start the flush but smarter people than me have been saying to be patient. She's still a little damp so I don't have to decide until tomorrow.

That sounds expensive! Since asking that question I have installed a tent in my closet with a carbon filter and exhaust fan but haven't really needed to use it. I can't smell the Amnesia at all. My Lamb's Breaths have a lovely odour though, so we'll have to wait and see.

Funnily enough, there were complaints a few weeks ago about cannabis smoke in the building causing people with allergies to vomit. Instead of banning smoking management decided to install a positive pressure roof-fan. It blows fresh air into all the hallways so that all cooking and smoking odours are contained within our apartments! Perfect! If the smell gets so bad that even that doesn't work - well I still have the carbon filter.

One word of warning, if you use a small humidifier and tap water it will fuck that carbon filter fast.. i didnt' know about that but it trashed mine in less than 2 weeks, totally clogged it.

I hope that's it. Are those pics from your current grow?

Yip current and on going at this rate. Just popped some new seeds for my veg grow cupboard project.
Going to go back in you thread now to read up on yellowing leaves

When I say too yellow I mean basically hanging. You perfectly correct I should have been slightly clearer.

Lamb's Breath Autos Days 63 and 51

IMG-0078.jpg

The plant on the left was not topped and is at day 51. The plant on the right was topped and is at day 63.

The topped plant did not go into flower until day 50. It obviously has more buds but will they be as large and heavy as the untopped plant. The untopped plant on the right went into flower on day 36 so it will have two more weeks of flowering assuming they both mature on their respective day 84.

Amnesia Haze Auto Day 78 (Day 38 of flower)

No pics today. Decided to give her what I hope is her final feeding consisting of FloraBloom @ 7.5ml/gallon in 2 litres of ph6.0 tap water.

Ordered a Carson Micro Brite Plus 60X-120X LED Lighted Pocket Microscope which will arrive in two days on Saturday. Hopefully I can use it to look at the trichomes and determine how cloudy they are and if there is any amber.

They look sooo cool. Could put some little lights on them and have an early Christmas.
I read on the yellowing leaves and my own worries are also less now.
Thanks for covering my journal.

Looking good and the yellowing of leaves late in flower is normal as the plants feed of the older leaves, it won't be long now until you harvesting mate
