The ph here is close to 7.0 with calcium added by the municipality. I believe the theory is that a high ph would cause the ph in the medium to rise over time but that the amount of time is much longer than a four-month cannabis grow, as long as you are not reusing the soil.
 
It's not the pH of the nute water that changes the pH of the substrate. It's the alkalinity of the water along with the type of nitrogen in the fertilizer.

My water in summer is higher...around 8. In the dead of winter, its lowest around 7.3 ish Because my water is river sourced the run off in the summer is higher than what I get in the winter. Im Megacrop too, and I dont pay much attention to pH'ing . Thats part of the reason I use Megacrop and Praux Mix®.

Seedsman Black Sugar - Day 2 - 1.25" tall - 30ml water, 2.0 MC

Used the old hypo to give her three squirts of 10ml water containing 2 grams/gallon of Megacrop. I would have never fed a baby seedling on day 2 prior to using Megacrop but seedlings seem to like the stuff.

This is from the first seed which I thought I had killed, the seed I started as a replacement has now hatched but since I'm not in any hurry now I'll wait until the root is about an inch long before I plant it.

I guess this approach is a little experimental but yes, first feeding, and I'll probably squirt in 20-30ml every other day until I transplant, probably in 10 days or so. This is only the second seedling I've started with MC so I may kill it yet. One thing is for sure, seedlings do not need to be fed and if you'd asked me a couple of months ago I would have said they shouldn't be fed as the seed has all the necessary nutrition required for the first week or two.

This whole MC thing is a bit odd to me and different but whens that stopped all the users? Interested to see how they progress
 
I doubt I'd feed mine that young (watching yours for input!), but I definitely shouldn't have waited as long as I did. Now I can't wait for them to dry out so I can feed them at 4g instead of the 3g they got after transplant.

I have a second Black Sugar germinating now so I'll try and do this one with the exact same watering but no MC.

I think I saw that you can start with MC from day 1, don't remember where, but there shouldn't be a problem as far as I understand it. If the plant doesn't need it it will leave it behind. Build up shouldn't matter as she'll be out of the cup in a couple of weeks.
 
I buried a few of mine almost up to the cotyledons when I moved them. I love that opportunity to make them less stretchy!

Seedsman Black Sugar #1 - Day 5 - 2.5" tall
Yesterday she received another 30ml water with 2g/gn Megacrop.

The Black Sugar seed I dropped to replace BS#1 when I didn't think she'd survive has sprouted and I will be giving her water without MC to see what difference the MC makes.

The second Black Sugar has survived germination and is drinking plain water. Too soon, of course, to see if early feeding Megacrop makes any difference.
 
Nice to see them behaving like a couple of babies!
