Hutch Grows Autoflowers In ProMix HP

White Widow #3 Day 19
Germinated the seed using the shot glass/paper towel method and planted directly into a 5 gallon pot. Plant grew nicely and had it's first feeding on day 16. Today she was fed again, 1 litre of ph 5.9 water with 1ml/gallon each of FloraGrow, FloraBloom, FloraMicro, CalMag and ProTekt. Watered around the plant to about a 3" radius. Drenching the entire pot is not a good idea at this stage. Topped the plant between the 3rd and 4th leaf nodes. Here are the before and after pictures.

Lamb's Breath (topped) Day 93, day 43 of flower
Trichomes look at least 90% milky but I can't find an amber trichome anywhere so continuing to feed. Today she got 2 litres water @ ph6.2 with 7.5ml/gn FloraBloom, 2.5ml/gn FloraGrow and 2.5ml/gn ProTekt. Expect to see some amber in the next few days at which time I will begin the flush.

Not much change since last photo so this will just be of the cola since it's kind of pretty. When I topped this I didn't know about apical dominance or keeping the canopy even.

Haircut day at the Hutch house !
That Lambs Breath is beautiful...gettin' purpler every day-and frostier too..

White Widow #1 Day 65, day 29 of flower
Many yellowing leaves again today which I trimmed off before I took the photo. Since this is getting serious I did a little reading. Boron deficiency was the clue which solved the problem. For the past two weeks I have been avoiding the use of the FloraMicro part of the Flora series. This is the bottle, along with a lot of nitrogen, that has all the micro-nutrients including boron. So I decided to stop trying to second-guess and just go with the suggested feed schedule, at 50% of course.

Apart from that, she is looking very good in my opinion. Nice structure. Love the results when topping and applying LST.

Today she was dry again, fed two litres two days ago so another two litres of tap water today with ph of 5.8 after adding 2.5ml/gn FloraGrow, 5ml/gn FloraMicro and 7.5ml FloraBloom. No ProTekt today as I clearly don't know what I'm doing with it. An article I read today says it ruins taste and structure of buds. Any opinions on using silicon during flowering?

Lamb's Breath (not topped) Day 87, day 50 of flower
I think she is getting close to harvest. Could see three amber trichomes in one field of view but had trouble finding others, just the odd one hanging about. Another week or two I guess. Really didn't know what to do, feed or flush? This appears to be a controversial subject, the science (at least what I read of it) seems to indicate that flushing has no effect on the buds and could in fact deprive the buds of the nutrients they need most at this important time. On the other hand most experienced growers flush. Oh well, I wouldn't want to deprive my plants of those precious Monsanto salts... so I chose to feed as I have no idea when there will be sufficient amber trichomes. I believe Emilya said harshness is removed more by the cure than by flushing and I plan to cure.
With 1 gallon tap water at ph5.6 she took 2.5ml Protekt, 5ml. FloraMicro, 2.5ml FloraGro and 7.5ml FloraBloom. Over all I would say she looks pretty good, a little tip burn incurred in the past but otherwise ok.

Cola has fattened-up and is quite dense. I wonder if this density is a result of the Protekt?

Lots of buds below the cola. They are dense and hard as well. There could be a bit of weight on this senior citizen.

I suppose I could remove the big fan leaves around the bottom, they get in the way of a nice picture. But they are not really blocking any light so I'll leave them as a nutrient reservoir for when the flush starts.

I'd let her go another week at least, remember when you think she's done wait 7 days.
That is so hard! I gonna start thinking she's done today, so now I only have to wait seven more days!

When people say 10% amber trichomes does that mean I should be able to see a few of them wherever I look on the plant? I mean not counting obviously immature popcorn buds.
