Hubba Hubba! Bubba Hash & The Bright Lights Of Redemption: Amy's Indoor v2.0 With DBHBB

Cheers h00k :thumb: yes I definitely agree this one is more toward the indica pheno for sure. I grew one outside that was definitely the sativa pheno, much more slender with very long node spacing and soft velvety leaves. The medicine from it is totally delightful too. You’re in for a treat.

That's a very healthy plant!

I'm envious. I haven't been conscientious enough lately to grow plants like that.
It looks like you're doing everything right - great color, great shine, great posture! :bravo:

That is one beautiful mutant. So many triple nodes! Though I thought phylotaxies were going out of style after phylo-uber and phylolyft.

Don't forget to tip your wait-staff!

...and try the fish!

Hmmm, when I was in college we would 'Chug' beers. "Chug it Chug it Chug it!!!!!"

We would also 'Shot Gun' beers. That's when you hold a 12 oz can sideways, poke a hole with a key or something, place your thumb over the hole, place the beer to your mouth, pop the top and CHUG IT CHUG IT CHUG IT!!!!!!

Update: Dark Devils (day 28)

These are not particularly happy. Not totally sad either so not a huge deal. Just something of a head scratcher. They started flowering before I’d managed to even get a Growth Ionic drench into them and seeing as that’s where the calcium comes from (mostly) perhaps that’s the root of the issues. I’ll have to rethink how I start these, in terms of watering tech.

Expecting the little stunty-prone ones like myself and others have had from this batch, they have all surprised me a bit with their height. They’ve put on a lot of height in the last week or so, and one in particular (of the #3s) has 2 long lower branches.

They started flowering on day 20 and had only just had their first Drench at that time. DBHBB seedlings take about 3 weeks to dry out enough to need a drench, so for autos that’s kinda tricky. In the future I’ll might not soak the pot so heavily before planting.

I also wonder whether they’ve grown too close to the lights, just at 18” now, and maybe that’s why they are having some weirdness in the tops.

I will appreciate any input about the phenomena going on woth these leaves (some, not all). Like a reverse tacoing and droop that has no relation to moisture in the soil.

They’re not all like that, but the ones that are include some leaves at lower nodes, so maybe it’s nothing to so with light and just that they haven’t had enough soil activity.

I had something of a brain fade when I decided to put 2 in each pot. I had originally planned to have one to a pot (1gal) and knowing that they are Spog®-prone i thought they’d squeeze nicely into the corners. A great idea! Then I saw dynamo’s recent run and they easily could have been 2 to a pot so I got excited :D and completely forgot my original ‘budsicles in the corners’ notion. Now I’ll be doing a lot of squeezing and smooshing to fit them in. :laughtwo:

Here’s some tops - they look ‘ok’, but to me they definitely seem kinda unhealthy/stressed. The leaf tissue does not look so great. But some of the larger fans look just fine. Hopefully I can resurrect them a little.

The #3 with the longer lower branches. And the other #3, in the same pot, with the droopy top leaves.

I’m glad I’ve got to show them - I’ve been wanting to for weeks it feels like, but just haven’t had the energy or space amongst everything else. They took this weird turn as they flowered and stretched so I’m going to assume they just need me to get the soil inputs rocking a bit better. Hopefully I can and they will produce some tasty purple delights for me :)

I’m working on the light build/upgrade today. Wiring up the driver. :slide: Getting close to transplant and flip...

:hookah: Happy weekends to all :hookah:

:Namaste:

Thanks HighBB! That’s interesting, I have seen that in other gardens too and didn’t know that can be the cause. They’re not clawing too badly like nitrogen toxicity so I hadn’t considered it. I’m wondering how they would have that, considering the soil and system. But, if things aren’t quite hooked up in the soil then anything could be out of balance in terms of uptake I guess.

Amy, I wanted to ask you a question about the Candida. You remember that one I had going? You told me to pull it and put under fluorescents. She was great and then I put her back under the 5500K QB's. It's been a few day and now many of the uppers are getting yellow spots and such. You think it's CalMag def.

Recap. Plants were healthy happy. Put them in tent under QB's. 3-4 days later they've got yellow spots on the leaves. No significant change in feed. Fed once before going in to tent and once after.

Your thoughts?

The leaf color almost looks like a magnesium def. My Northern Lights did something similar early one where the new growth was much lighter green than the rest of the plant. I gave it a regular cal/mag with each feeding and either that helped, or the plant just grew out of it.

Cheers Luiz - the faded look is, I’m pretty sure, still them recovering from that weird fade that 3 of them had very early - due to lighting ‘events’ so I haven’t been too worried about that. They’ve been getting greener and greener the whole time - except for the one that has stayed a deep green and never ‘faded’ as a seedling. It was more the look of the tissue in terms of texture that I was noticing. That and the weird reverse tacoing.

That said - in general they didn’t seem to me to be getting what they needed, so you may well be seeing a lack of something! When using this DBHBB kit, the notion of a deficiency kinda has to be thought about a bit differently. We know everything is in the kit, so if something seems to be lacking then it is most likely (always?) because the soil and roots aren’t hooked up for some reason or because the plant has a particularly heavy demand (like Bubba!). Both the DDA pots have had a Growth Drench now with a very healthy dose of Tea, which gives the micro-population a boost in numbers and actually they are already looking more perky - pics incoming ;)

I better head over to your journal and have a look but I’m not sure I’ll be able really say Age. I’m terrible at diagnosing deficiencies like that. :hmmmm:

I know folks have found a higher demand under LEDs so you may be seeing that.

This Candida is under QBs and is really happy, but lighting is at the low end of the scale (still only at about 24000 lux) and it is 3500K - not sure if any of that makes any difference at all.
