That's a good place to start but let them grow up to it and then try to keep them 12-18" that'll keep those tops in a really nice intensity and enough light through to fatten up the lower stuff.

Edit...I try to get as close to the plant as possible, while maintaining the footprint that suits the area.

I think, even more now, an in-house competition of the Fellowship of the High Brix Growers, you Doc, Tav, Curso, Graytail, SGA, etc.
Should be in the works for the beginning of the new year.
Same strain, different lights, ..would be awesome! :)

You should DEFINITELY enter some buds into the CannaCup competition grown with those 'boxed suns'.

Man I just like seeing the results on paper now. It really added a nice element to finishing the grow, you get to see the efforts (or lack there of) right on paper. Its fun to see the science.

I can even imagine how bright that area at Doc's is. I'm stoked to see what he does with them.

There is a bright future a head of us and it seems to be illuminated by LED...
 
How long did it take for the roots to start coming out of the bottom of your 20 gal? I just moved mine from veg tent to with 1 -125 watt CFL to the LED tent with 3 DS-100's. I had watered it at transplant from 5gal smart pot to my 20 gal and had to wait over a week just to be able to transfer it under the LED's, but that gave my Carolina Reaper time to reveg after a pepper aphid; infestation treated with 1500 Ladybugs in a 4X4 tent and still have maybe 20 at most in both tents now. Hell I have some newbees , they have been humping everytime I go into the tent! Lol
But I degress , just been smoking some Hi-Brix.
I have the strongest looking clones from transfer from root riot plugs to solo cups to 2 Liter for 2 weeks then to 3 gal smart pot, very thick base and now stems with what I would call big ass Knuckles!
I'm going to have to scrog this tent with 2 plants or move 1 to another new tent & light because I don't think that they both will fit.
The other is bag seed that I've had from my 2 nd grow, it looks great but I know it has some skunk in it cause she stinks even in veg.
but she was in a 3gal placed on top of a 5 gal smart pot and roots are out of the bottom. I got that from BID.
Your garden and treats look awesome, I can't wait to get there, still on my first batch. Still have about ten gals.

I let them veg for 10-14 days in their final home then flip them. I actually have had a couple people mention the stacking to me. It's a great idea, just not applicable in my grow at the present time.

It's a drag when you have to smoke High Brix. I get bummed about that too. What happened to that head ache I thought I was suppose to get when I smoked...LOL

These LED grow lights are really nice. I can't wait to read Doc's amazement with the spectrum and the par of those massive lights. Man thats going to be fun to watch. It's fun to go surfing around and looking at other people's take on these lights. It's not me trying to sell lights, I don't get anything out of it. Other than sharing my results :)

If you want really big plants fast, trim the roots a couple times "to the plug". That'll give you a full plug of roots to unleash into the starter pot. It works pretty well. Honestly.

You're welcome!!! Have you seen Govcheese's hempy plant? its in his current thread updated tonight I think. It's pretty impressive.

I think you'll have the same "woah" the rest of us have when we plug it in for the first time. "They all said welding glasses I don't believe that shit" is what we all think. Then you hang it and turn it on and your eyes go "OMFGWWTFAREYOUDOINGYOUASSHOLE" and you look away. Then you'll look a couple more times :) They're just soooo bright.

In a couple hours, I'll get to see what sort of damage was done to them on their first sunrise.

Thanks bro!! Yeah man this is by far my best plant to date. Sometimes I even surprise myself, this happens to be one of those times. When I was sending you guys pics this morning, I was blown away with what I saw. She's getting close. Couple more weeks and shes done.

I can't wait to make my next batch of butter. While I am pretty happy with the strength its not quite what I am looking for so, I'll make it stronger the next time.
