HSO Dedoverde Haze Sativa In Small Tent Under COBs - Start At Day 65 Veg

Hi nobodyhere what is the theory behind the adjustments to light intensity? Are you trying to simulate fall fading light conditions or something?

Not at all....

If you read back a few posts, it was suggested and decided to up wattage for flowering. I have been gradually doing so, from about 90 to 155 and back down to 145 most recently.

At the time I was coming up to 155 watts I decided to give the plant a large watering and skip nutes. About three days after this I started getting some upper leaves that were showing white/yellowing....I attributed this to either too much light or too little nutes. I backed off the light some and just today upped the nutes about double what I was giving to around 850ppm.

Hope that explains it.

Hey nobody(t)here ... just trying to understand the science. Hope it works great for you :thumb:

HSO Dedoverde Haze @ day 122, Flippola Day 49

Few more weeks to go! Happy friday everyone...

Plants doing about the same since the last 2l feed 2days ago, I have photos, it's been 4 days since last photos.

Tent is running 67 -71, RH is in 30s, would love for it to stay here for the rest of the grow...ha. Would help with drying for sure.

Today I gave one liter, mixed with .5 ml Tiger Bloom, pH to 6.5, and 10 ml of the Budda Bloom. I would call this a normal feeding.

I am still noticing some progression with the upper fan leaves. It's slower...not overnight....but still happening. There is a dark blot on one of the upper fan leaves in the photo (see hand).

Should I just keep giving nutes and remove the fan leaves that look ugly or?????

I figure I am about 4 weeks out on this plant. Would love to avoid having to cut out dead leaves in the buds...had to do that with most of the previous autos.

Looking really good. I wouldn't know worry about that bad leaf. It happens and your plants couldn't look any better imo!

I appreciate that comment. I know I will get some decent stuff out of this. Just paranoid about it...I have not looked in the tent really since friday. RH has been in the 30s because central heat is running. I think it is helping dry out the plant some. I could water today, but I will not, will hold off until tomorrow morning and take another photo or two. I removed some of the uglier leaves two days ago and they don't appear to be progressing.

I am starting to lean towards the 2L of 0ppm ph'ed water being too damn harsh to the plant. This was done on the 30th, and it was pretty obvious 2 days after watering. It was either the lights or the water. I did not cut lights back that much...maybe 8% of max. In the future I will not give straight water, maybe some organic base nutes only.

A bit about my water, it runs through a pair of GE glass filters a 1micron in series (replaced every three mos), 2 carbon blocks (replaced every 6 months and the back one is rotated forward-basically the old block removes all the chloramine and the new block gets anything that gets past it), 2 RO filters (cuts rejection water, changed yearly), then two mixed bed DI resin filters (one is rotated new at 6mos). Water is about 7pH, 60pm going in, comes out around 4pH and 0 ppm. Honestly, the water is so acidic and wanting to form bonds that I use it to clean my water bong, it cuts through resin pretty damn well in a couple hours.

Yesterday I upped the lights a tad-just 5w to 150w, It is insane how much freaking light this 150w is in a small tent. The fixture is rated at 5 Square Feet at 18 inches above canopy PPFD: 967 μmol/m2/s. I am pretty much running it at 75%, but I assume it's not a linear curve (ie.75 of 967). My guess is about 725 μmol...and that is just a swag at looking at curves months ago.

I peeked in the tent after I wrote that post. Plant was starting to look like it needed fluid, rh was 33, pot was lighter, soil was dry, so 1L, ph to 7, 1ml tiger bloom, two capfuls of Big Bloom and a capful of Budda bloom.

Might repeat tomorrow.

What the heck is wrong with your tap water that you do that much filtering? Does it come straight from Flint Michigan? Is this what you use to drink as well or is this filter dedicated to your grow?

Nothing is wrong with the tapwater, we drink it. We don't drink the RODI, it actually tastes pretty shitty. I do occasionally make ice cubes with it (I unplug the DI unit because it's not food rated and it imparts the taste). They melt slower in mixed drinks.

RODI is used for some other stuff in the house and work.

The tap water comes from a city source...it's ok, but it has a shit ton of chloramine, vs chlorine, which is pretty tough to remove from water vs just chlorine.

I started with rodi because it was a known base from adding nutes. Going to use cistern stuff that we use for yard in the future when giving just water-its treated with mosquito bits already.

I might try two autos side by side....

Today I gave the plant 1.25liters of RO at 7, with 2ml Tiger Bloom, 4 caps of big bloom, 2 caps of buddha bloom. In the photos below you can see the yellowing, it's fan leaves. I removed a couple, left the rest. Guess it's the plants way of telling me it can take more nutes.

Set the lights back at 155w. Might raise again in a few days. Just going to keep plugging away with the organic nutes + tiger bloom till something tells me to stop.

What is killing me is that I have to go out of town in 4 weeks...ugh.

Looking really good. I would say u should have another 2-3 weeks of flower then chop and dry for another week. They look pretty close to being finished

I was peeking or weeding my way through your thread today...it looks like you took some at 9-10 weeks into flower?

Three weeks exactly would be perfect for me! That would be a load off.

HSO Dedoverde Haze @ day 128, Flippola Day 55

Temps 67-71, RH33-35%. The dry air is sucking the moisture out of the fabric pot pretty quick. Least I worry about soggy roots. 155w, the yellow fans appear more yellow, and there are a couple more new yellowing leaves as well....i guess fall is coming.picked a couple leaves and they felt resistant...so i left the rest on.

fyi, i have not been getting runoff in any watering. that might be a good thing vs last grows...

Also contemplating not using Flawless Finish? Should i flush or go no nutes last week or two?

Today I gave 2L RODI, ph 7 with 2ml of Tiger Bloom, 4 caps of Big Bloom and 4 caps of Buddha Bloom.

Neither, feed up until the last watering.
A critical look at preharvest flushing

Great read, and makes a lot of sense. I've known for a while that some nutrients were mobile and some not within the plant, I never really thought about how they interacted and were used together by the plant. I flush the soil a couple times during the grow to remove salt buildup but always give nutrients right after the flush to replace what was removed. I'll be harvesting in the next 2/3 weeks and think I'll try out not flushing and only tapering off the nutrients as the feeding schedule calls for.

I started with rodi because it was a known base from adding nutes. .

This echo's where my head was when I decided to use the RODI vs tap. I run salt water aquariums so I had the unit already set up. When I have tested the tap in the past it's not bad but it does fluctuate quite a bit. The RO is the same every time. The rest of what your donig looks great.
