How many CFLs do I need?

There are a number of them on Amazon for around 100 Euros. 100 Euros is equal to $146 Canadian dollars. I just took a look and there are lots of led fixtures to pick from. Just pay attention to the actual watts. Don't let their false titles confuse you.
For that money you should be able to get at least 200 actual watts of led lighting.
should i only look for the actual watts? for example: 150w=1000w or 200w=400w which one would be better?

how do these growing leds compare to HID? and what g/w can i get potentally?

that's equivalent tho, isn't that good? there is lights that actually draw 1000w, but that's a lot of energy man lol. 1x18=18 18x90=1620 1620x0.25=405 you're looking at 405 euro. might as well buy weed at that point lol

It doesn't quite work like that in practice. The numbers get exaggerated on those lights because they can claim the max wattage of each LED combined. So say there are 100 5w LED's. Technically, that's 500w worth, but they don't power them at the full power. More like 1/4 of the power so they don't burn out the chips quickly. So they would say a "500w light", but really it's only pushing about 120w. So it really isn't near the power it wants you to believe.

For a 2ft x 2ft tent (aka 60cm x 60cm) then a Mars Hydro TS-1000 would be excellent.

Now if you have a 60in x 60in (aka 5ft x 5ft)... You will not properly light a tent that size for 100€.

But on that note, on the "cheap" look at a Mars Hydro TS-3000.

Yes, just look at actual watts. There is no such thing as an LED fixture that draws 150 watts and grows your weed like a 1000 watt. That is all lies. Forget all that. Only pay attention to the actual watts from the wall. That info is usually hidden in the small print when you read the details of the item.

300w title? I'm shocked. Typically a 120w would be more like 800w title.

Between the household bulbs and stupid exaggerated lights, I'm surprised any weed is growing in any of these threads.

If you want to grow with house lights, build a space bucket.
lots of people recommand the ts-1000 and it actually draws 150 not 1000, i'm confused to what you're saying here.... btw the ts-1000 isn't on amazon sadly...

oh fair enough, i tho it was like normal lights where they say 5w=60 meaning 5w makes the same light as old 60w lights

They don't claim it is a 1000w light.

So is your space 60x60 cm or in?

Not so much, no. I won't lie. This shit gets confusing as hell, even when you know what to look for.

There are also things like penetration, spectrum, and 1500 other different factors with LED lights. It can, and will, make your head spin! (And not in a good way! :D)

Alright, you have a 60cm x 60cm tent. This is good though, because if it were inches you would be hosed. LOL.

The TS-1000 will do nicely in that space, and on a budget is what I would get. OK, technically it's going to be about 115€, but what's 15€ between friends at that point.

If you're going to do it, do it right from the start and give yourself (and your plants) the best possible change to thrive.

i've looked for it on amazon but i can't find it :( i'll look for something similar. also, i didn't actually build the tent yet. i just came back from the shop and bought the supplys for it. my plan it so make it 60x60. but i can change that if you think it would benegit my plants....

also how tall should it be? i was thinking 1.70m?

well the issue actually is that i bought like 500 eur Worth of amazon cards because i Always buy on amazon and they had a good deal. and that's pretty much all the money i had lol (student life feelsbad) imma just go with one from amazon, worse case scenario i can return it for free

Hi Bushy, thanks for interest on our TS 1000 light, it can cover your 60x60cm space perfectly. We do also have a lot growers here running the TS light, you can check at my signature :circle-of-love: On website, thought we cannot offer free return, but our price is lower than amazon, and we have great custom service who can reply within 24hours usually. and a good communication will help you easily on the growing too. :)

what would happen if i didn't put enough?

Your plant will be tall, lanky, almost no buds and weird leafs. It'll look more like hops instead of cannabis. IMHO 6x 40W CFL's arent enough to bud only veg. You'll be budding in the shade basically...not a good idea...IMHO a waste of time and money. Re-creating the outdoors indoors isnt cheap.

i'm wondering, what can a light like the ts 1000 yield compared to, say, a 250w sodium light?
