Is it really necessary to cook it for 4 hours? Most of the recipes showing alcohol used to strip the oils only require it to be in there for a few minutes, or possibly an house. I can understand why you might cook it in butter or oil, to infuse it. But with alcohol, it's a solvent, right? So doe the added cooking time really do anything?
I'm honestly just curious if it's necessary or not, because I want to create the highest quality oil possible!
