HiighTide’s Perpetual & Organically Amended Garden

This is my second attempt at keeping a journal. I’ve completed one full calendar year of growing with 4 harvests. Two were indoor, one was outdoor and the last was started outdoor and finished the last 4 weeks indoor due to seasons changing and them not getting enough light to finish in the sun and still, I can’t learn enough. In my four grows I’ve experienced my whole first crop herming and I have at least a lb of fem seeds as a result. Three of the seeds have been grown out already and more are getting ready to be flipped. I’ve ran into major PK deficiencies week three flower on my second grow as a result of improperly mixing my super soil recipe. My outdoor grow ran into PM and bud rot followed shortly after the vinegar wash. The outdoor/indoor grow caught a bad infestation of spider mites that I unknowingly brought inside when the seasons changed. I found them while checking trichomes when I saw something moving through the loupe. I watched them build a web over the next few weeks.
I’ve ran into my fair share of troubles on this expedition but one thing I did not do was give up. Each grow, 1-4 every problem that I encountered was eventually remedied and the grow was completed to its entirety, harvested, cured and enjoyed.
After sterilizing the grow rooms from the mites I am a couple of weeks away from flipping the survivors of the mites that were in veg at the time of the infestation and vegging new strains and clones from those about to be flowered.

While fighting the mite infestation I didn’t top or train the ladies because I didn’t want to add anymore stress than they were already experiencing and they grew too large vertically to flower out in flower room 2, so I built a scrog. This is my first scrog and I think I’m going at it correctly. We shall see.

I have markers on my walls at 2.5ft which is when I flip. From left to right, those on the left are inches away

Don’t have long before flip, so it’s time to get these ladies into their final pots. I forgot to mention that when I transplanted from 1gal to 3gal this was when they were first introduced to the supersoil in only the bottom 1/3 of the pot. From 3gal-5gal will be all supersoil.

Flipped 19 plants 15 of which I know are fem, the other four are from bag seed, but have been vegging long enough for sex to show and I’m “thinking” they’re female also. We’ll know soon enough.
‘Strains in flower are
3x Wedding Cake
1x Wedding Pie (bag seed)
3x Blue Gelato 41 (Barney Farm)
3x Vanilla Kush (Barney’s Farm)
3x White Runtz (bag seeds)
1x White Runtz Clone
4x Fire OG Clones (Swole’s 1st Grow)
1x Pink Runtz Clone

Week 1 Bloom Day 7
Clones have been hungrier than those from seed, I can tell by the purpling of the stalks. So to give them something immediately available, the last 3 waterings I’ve fed 1oz bloom and the purple is all but gone now.

Week 3 Day 21
Lollipop and Defoliation Day and a prime example of why it’s so important to be checking your plants through the first few weeks.
The Wedding Pie from bag seed couldn’t take the heat of being in a room full of females and decided she wanted to do the unnatural and grow ball sacks. Hated to see her go but I can’t allow the madness to continue

I think this was a genetic herm, so I didn’t keep it and collect pollen. There were no grower errors to cause this herm unlike my first grow due to light during dark hrs. Both of my herm’s have come within the first 14 days of bloom. Oh well, I would’ve loved to have had the pollen from this strain but it wasn’t to be at this time. Plant count is now down to 18.

Got all the girls cleaned up and hoping to grow some nice size colas this run. All my grows I’ve been happy with the yields even with the problems I had. This grow all is coming together. Mixed my supersoil correctly this time, environment has been on point and consistent, I’m knowledgeable enough to top dress or bottled organics if/when necessary. This grow has been great so far hopefully it continues.

I’ve had this Fire OG clone under the sun for 3 weeks now and it’s regaining its vigor. It’s been eating good in the supersoil and has been getting heavy waterings from the storms we’ve been having. Her stems are getting their green color back from the hungry purple she was throwing off to me.

I’ve LST’D her pretty heavy, if you look closely you can see I’ve bent her main stem back over herself and tied it down along with the majority of the rest. I’ve found that the apical node will grow the fastest so I manipulate them all so they’ll grow up evenly

Almost all of the nights have been in the 30F-40F range with a couple of them below freezing, she just recovered yesterday from a freezing night, was droopy for 2 days and perked up on the 3rd day. Daylight hours initially were 12hrs, they’re 12.5hrs now and if I remember I’ll place her underneath the porch light nightly until morning( when I remember) There’s a high chance it’s gone into flower and may be in stretch right now because growth is kinda rapid for outdoors. If she is flowering already I’ll try and herm her and collect pollen. If not I’ll top her crazy throughout the season to keep her low and flower her out in my back yard.

Awesome bro! What strains you have going? Be sure to keep track of things so that if you come back to that strain you can grow it better than the last time.
