Hi, first time grower and member here

So I recently decided to start growing my own bud and bought some MG Natures Own Organic Natural potting soil with water conserve. So far I've been happy with the results but recently noticed the bottom leaves of my plants are turning yellow. Just the original nodes nothing else. Is this normal in this stage of growth or is there another issue I need to address here. Also, with this type of soil do I need to add any fertilizers or nutrients during the entire process or can I yield bud by just adding water until harvest??

Thanks in advance to anyone that helps
and I am happy to be part of this forum.

does the bag say anything about any additives in the soil. you would want nutrients. usually you want the soil to dry out. it can cause yellowing if you water before they are dry.
ive heard that miracle grow soil isnt what you want to use but ive never used it.
what kind of soils are available for you to get. id suggest changing it

It does look like your soil contain additional items for nutrients. Does a search for other organic soil growers and see if it can help you out. A good person to look up would be Emilya, I believe she is an organic soil grower and very knowledgeable (also super helpful). There’s also this thread: Cannabis Plant and Pest Problem Solver - Pictorial

It is an excellent reference to use to help diagnose any potential issues with your plant.

You can also post some photos of your issues in the FAQ section here: Frequently Asked Questions
and you will definitely get some help.

I don’t grow using organic soil so I’m not much of a help besides this.

ok so when i got started i learned fast to stay away from certain potting soil. i got like a 3 dollar bag of something my plants basically sat outside and really didnt grow from when i transplanted them. i also fought yellowing that i could never figure out. i ended figuring out that i needed a better soil when i went to the hydro store and the stuff in there was nothing like the stuff i used.
when watering, it took me awhile to figure out i didnt need to water them everyday and even longer to figure out to not water them till they out completely.

do you have an ace hardware?
they carry what i use now and you have to order it but it has free store pick up?
mother earth - coca peat.

i can send you a list of stuff ive used that i know works

No just a Home Depot and a Fox Tree land & Nursery place. The list would be awesome so that I can know what I'm looking for bro. Much appreciated.

I'll see if I can find her. And I'll check out the link to the forum you posted. Thanks bro.

So what I would recommend from Home Depot is the “ocean forest” firstly because I’ve used it. 2nd choice is fox farm bush doctor ive never used it but I think is similar to what I’m using now at home.
3rd is happy frog. I’ve used it the most but the price is way to high On Home Depot,it is unfair to pay that in my opinion.

you would have to do the store pickup. They don’t have it on shelves where I’m from I’m assuming the same for you.

Ocean forest has a one bag option $30 for 40lbs
Bush doctor coco loco 2 bag option for 75$

me personally would go with ocean forest

Na, I can walk into my local Home Depot. I'll definitely lookout for those brands and use one when I transplant these in a few days. Thanks for the info man.

Anywho, what type of water is best used for these plants so that you don't have to check PH levels every feeding Jerrix509?
If you can get distilled it would be best if you don’t want to ph. But most tap is around 7. Check your tap and see what it is. The soil however will only get you through a couple weeks with out having to nute. If you only want to use water the whole way through you will have to build a soil. There is a sponsor on her that will send a sample of stuff you mix in and it should do great for what I think your looking for. They have a sample pack and will send it if you pay 13 shipping. I’ll get the name for you rn
