Hi,

Clones are 9 days, since cut and 3 Days in DWC. I think they have rooted exceptionally well. I want you to pls help me get these guys really healthy. They were under 50w then 100w then 150w CFL(cool) @ 20cm. I can add bulbs up till 300w. 20cm

My Ph 5.6, Water temps mid 75 +/- | Room Temp 85 +/- | Nutes @ EC 0.1

So what have I been missing. I don't have a hygrometer? The water is kept cool with ice added three times a day Temps fluctuate from 69 - 78?? interior temps might be two high? Could it be all these problems together? is the light to close?

these are all the problems I see, but I only have around $100 more to fix it. My plan was to buy a aluminium radiator and build a water cooler. What do you think I should do, within budget?

Thanks in advance
Toppin

Hi, CFL lights can be fairly close to the plants. 5-6" away is fairly common. Having said that, I don't really see any problems with your clones as they are. Are you seeing a problem that you are specifically concerned with?
:Namaste:
Edit: I see in the thread title that curling is what you are concerned with.
The only thing I can see missing is the room humidity level. I don't grow DWC, so I can't help you on water temps. We'll let the DWC growers check that for you.

Hi Cannafan

Yes the problem is the curling leaves, they were straight until two days ago, and they dont show any signs of improvement. So if I don't make a correction now, it looks like it will get worse. Thanks for the reply I look forward to more help.

I'm gonna buy a cheap hygrometer in the morning, ill update on the level.

Hey buddy it's my opinion those roots are starting to be problematic. Res temps of 70f or higher are definitely going to need water treatment, as in sterilizing agents or beneficial bacteria. Look into that and your 100$ will go far.

Good luck!

Hey dude, The roots are three days old, they are bright white, and the growth is about 15cm. They look happy, here is a photo from two days ago and from now (a better photo) please have a look again and if you have anything please advise.:Namaste:

ill add another photo of the roots now

Honestly 134 views, 2 reply's. Is this forum dead, This is the DWC section I should have 50 reply's at least, Come on guys. you all come here to read but don't contribute , Am I wrong? And this goes with the other posts on this forum as-well a lot of traffic NO reply's.:420::thanks::goodjob:

Yeaaahhh on second thought those roots look good. Ill warn you though, The slight yellow tinge indicates the presence of a pathogen and at 75f the roots can take a turn pretty quick. Just keep an eye on them and know how to fix it if it goes bad. Timing is everything in dwc. Things move along quick!

Also i dont think that number honestly reflects the views. Seems to jump from ~10 to ~150 pretty quickly and just sit there. So i would have to agree, these forums are pretty quiet. No reason to get frustrated though. Are you just looking for aknowledgement?? Pick a new hobby.

Hi Topping,
While I understand that you posted in the DWC thread to get responses related to that specifically, I personally feel that more responses and help answers are received when questions are posted on the FAQ's thread. If you haven't obtained a response here to your liking in the next day or so, you could try to post there too. A lot of seasoned growers check that area frequently to help out new growers.
The FAQ section is under the Grow Room tab at the top of the page.
Hope that helps. :)

I went to look and its worse, there is one post that has 15000 views and only 29 reply's. Na id rather use -------- or --------- cause those guys are active and respond kindly. What happened to this website, if you analyse the posts all over is...
- lack of moderation,
- pros trolling the noobs,
- all around bad attitude towards those that dont know

An exception to the rule is my post I was met with friendly helpful responses although only two. I suspect its because everyone else feels the vibe here and has moved to other forums.

Btw im not hating 420, I love it. Just its time to grow up, be accepting, and become a teaching site, not a place for experienced members to stroke their egos.

Congrats on the member of the month thing. Your obviously an exception here tx for taking the time.

Hi, Topping

I appreciate your thoughts, however I would have to respectfully disagree on a couple of things.
You mentioned a post in the FAQ's that had 15,000 views and only 29 replies, in all fairness that post is dated back to 2010 on the original posted date. There are answers to the question that was asked. The views since then have probably been members looking at the answers. Keep in mind that the "guest" views play a very large part in number of views here too. "Guests" are not allowed to post, but they can read all they want.

The moderation here, in my opinion, is the best on the net for grow sites. I find the opposite here that you describe, I see maturity and a very helpful giving community. People don't generally come back with smart azzed answers here, and if they do they are usually publicly addressed on it by other members.

I just don't see bad attitudes here. It is not accepted by the other members on a general basis. I see positive, eager members who like to help where they can and thoroughly enjoy this site and sharing information.
All of that being said, I respect your opinions. :)

Maybe another suggestion for you is to read up in the Grow Journals in progress, find a couple that are DWC growers and ask a question or two from the actual thread owner. There are a lot of different growers here using many different grow mediums, sometimes you have to dig a little to get where you need to be. :Namaste:

I really don't see much wrong with the plants. Your lights aren't to close, the water temp is on the high side but I doubt it's the main cause. It's not like it stays at a constant high temp. I wouldn't worry about it to much. Just keep an eye on them. I think they are just adapting to a new home. It says they have only been in dwc for three days. They will prob perk up in a couple days. It happens when I pull clones from another grower. They can wilt and act droopy for a little bit.

Hi GreatEight,

After calling my local grow shop we found the problem, I't wasn't temps it was root lock causes by the coco plugs been to wet. I had to tear the coco plug apart and broke off most of the old roots in an attempt to salvage the clones. I've placed them directly into Hydrotron with the net now 1" into the water. Now after a few days they are finally growing new roots.

Still not perfect yet but they are getting healthier by the day. Ill post photos in a week again.

I bought a hygrometer (45%) and made a O2 chiller (black pipe inside a coolerbox filled with ice).
I used to have to add ice bottles three times a day to keep the water between 65-72 now with the chiller I only add twice.
On Monday I plan to find a radiator and build a real h20 chiller.
