To ve honest my plants usually stay 
all the way through since I've learned LOS way of life,and I REALLY LIKE IT!! Alot less expensive and wayyy less work I can focus on other things instead of chasing my tail with issues!

I like to get the light right down on them for GOOD canopy penetration.
Seem to get closer internodal spacing even with the stretching sativa's they don't stretch as much anyways
When i used to operate a metal halide i could get a 600 watt light 12" above the canopy and they still were and they'd still pray but any closer and theyd get some burn Im about 18" above now very little heat @ the canopy. Thats a LEC though not Halide
The trick is a SUPER HEALTHY plant

Got me some pumpkin seeds growing in the BSF (Black Solider Fly) tote Check out the critters in the one pic, they were really small when i got them I have them in a bio pod they will self harvest into the bin at the end

Im itching to get those downstairs but im going to roll with those small containers until i see peekers out the bottom waiting on test results anyways should be any day now

So the soil I got in the small containers is Happy Frog $14.00 a tbs of KIS mix a 1/4 cup castings 2 tbs Bokashi and inoculated with microbial mass and LAB i forgot the mycorrhiza but the The store bought shit has some dormant fungi in it so ill just do it before i up plant

Just wanted to show you all you can still get bigger light down on the plants im 80% of a 630 LEC fixture 27 days in got to make sure your humidity is GOOD 50% is cool and with good circulation also,if you can hold the top of your hand over the canopy, Ill usually will hold it there for up to 2 minutes ,if i can do that it should be ok for heat and if the plants are healthy! But that's just what i do not right or wrong until i FUCK something up
