normally this time of year 48/52, but we just had three nights of 38/39 one of the blueberry muffin plants straight up shriveled.

i also just ran a 30,000 BTU propane heater in the greenhouse for 16 hours

We are just below freezing at night now and expecting snow in two days

Real Winter is a different story, at least a couple of weeks of minus 35

Got some good heat in the greenhouse today and the plants are “praying”, looks like all but one have for sure made it.

Still some seedlings in a tent on 18 hr light schedule.

2 days with insulated floors and heaters at night, plants are thriving again, the Blueberry Muffin plant i thought i was going to lose looks like it will make it.

all the wee plants in tent are happy.

i switched lights to 12/12 in greenhouse right when the cold front came thru, all plants in main greenhouse are already making pistils, which normally its about 2 weeks after flip…maybe my thought of using the cold to signal “fall” with the plants, and reducing light with natural climate will work…the battle now will be cold in late dec early jan when harvest is due.

Got word that an old friend of mine that I was in the same profession as for half my life died this week. when i looked it up he died from complications of AS, the same disease I have, he was 3 years younger than myself.

i started pondering how did he die so young? wonder what meds he was on? wonder if he made the necessary changes in his diet?

then that lead me to ponder and fear my own fate. i took these photos while doing my nightly checkups and doing some pondering. its amazing a plant can help so much, literally pulling me from death, amazing how many people are certain it is evil, amazing how many people are missing out.

thankful for my greenhouse, thankful for this forum which is where i learned to grow, thankful for these incredible plants that either a creator put here for us or evolution made for us…nonetheless thankful for this beautiful plant.
