I haven't found H2O2 to stop the spread of bud rot. Ever.@InTheShed I am currently using 3% H202 spray. I am getting mold on the stems where exposed. I wipe it off, spray the stems and then spray the buds with a mister of 3%. It still seems to be coming back.
Exactly! The black mold on the stems continues to come back on exposed parts or areas that were cut before. @InTheShed when you are using the 3% will it come back in about 2 days in those effected areas?
Make sure you cut anything remotely rotten when you wet-trim.My thoughts were to cut down 2 plants and H202 bath them and let them dry while I am away. I will wet trim some parts and remove any mold then leave them to dry.
Another member here does QWISO with 99% and had it tested after cooking off the iso. It came back with a large amount of iso still remaining. If you can't get your hands on 190 proof Everclear, 151 proof vodka might be a cleaner solution. Unless you have a vacuum extraction setup.I am planing on making RSO out of the majority of this so I'm not sure if a tiny bit of mold will really be an issue with a 99% isopropyl alcohol solvent to pull the THC out of the plant. I know mold can continue to live as its spores inside that so that was why I was hoping to go with the H202 bath to try to remove as much as possible.
Much of my rot started on the tops, but wherever I sprayed the SAGFF, it prevented any adjoining calyxes from getting bud rot. Also @InTheShed when you say the rot moving down your cola's can you share some photos of what you were experiencing? I'm wondering if its the same thing. I believe mine is more air born mold being passed up from the stems into the colas and buds vs coming from the stem of the plant upwards. Though I have seen a trend where it seems to be getting higher and higher on the stems.
This may also be from me not seeing it when I do a check and clean on the stems.
The growth is actually a small bud that then turns brown and then I know that flower will get mold. Longer I wait the more it gets and it's traveling threw the stem. I can see the brown in the stem going into the top of the flower.True sativas grow different bud structure from indicas. Generally, long branch-end colas are more often seen on indicas, where sativa flowers tend to grow off to the side of the branch.
I've never seen anything like that growth on the stem, which looks more like a science fiction movie to me! Besides the Southern Ag Garden Friendly Fungicide, I don't have any ideas. Good luck with the H2O2 and tape solution. I hope that contains it.
