Help! I totally messed up! Broken plant

Ive still seen plants completely broke in half mend themselves.

when you taped it did you make sure it each side was tight together?

Do not just ASSUME its dead it's either gonna repair itself or that branch will die and it will direct its energy to a healthy part

anything that occurs in nature cannot be unnatural!

You'll learn how to soft the stem to save it from the snap or you will have some great tape on deck for the next time. There will always be a next time. The great news is, it looks like you snapped the stem right at the 3rd node which is perfect for topping autos. This plant is showing no bud sites which is another great thing. That means she's still growing and will recover. I would remove the tape so she's not focused on healing but rather growing.
She won't stay that short, once in flower she will stretch up some more.

It's a goner . Well the top part . The plant is really stressed . I posted some pictures of the damaged plant and the untouched sister .
I could just kick myself .

Awesome ! Some good news ! Yes it hurts like it's my freaking kid or something . Even my husband thinks I've gone loca! I'm am however scared to death to touch any others .

When I was super cropping for the first time, I snapped a couple stems until I got the hang of it, taped them all and none died. So ya your plant will be fine.

A picture of the top. I just removed it hoping the energy will be focused on other branches . I'm a newbie and this was like a punch to my gut . Literally I've had stomach ache all day because of her.

Those top branches will start to stand up. She still looks nice and healthy to me. Now those lower nodes will get more light.

Really looks great... just looks like you topped it, as earlier stated, your still in veg, you likely just double your main colas- if not 4.

Oh I know its just a why let the poor thing die thought. PLus good practice for cloning, interesting project - what happens when you chop an auto in half. Any bud is bonus

EDit to add: I'm a sweetsue LabRat so experiments provide a lovely buzz.
