Heirloom's A Little Bit Of Everything - 2016 Journal

Hello. I am seeking at the wise master Heirloom at the suggestion of another member. I am a new member on my first grow and having some really frustrating plant issues that I was told Heirloom would be likely able to help with. I write this hopeful.

Here is the short run down.

Bag seed soil grow in week 6 of 12/12 light. Currently feeding the full line of FF nutes at between 1/2 and full strength currently although earlier in the plants life it was more like 1/4 strength if at all. Trying to water and feed every third day. I have been dialing in my water and feed the past two weeks to 6.5 - 6.8. Leaf issue appeared on the largest of three plants I have going about two or three weeks ago and has continued despite many efforts. It started as a lightening or yellowing on upper leaves although some lower leaves were affected too. It has progressed to burning on the outer edges of the affected leaves which seem to be dying. If it continues at this rate it will affect the actual leaves on the buds soon. I have flushed a couple times, most recently yesterday with 6-gallons of ph 6.5 water done in two waves. I then fed with 2 liters of ff full strength feed.

I am sure I have missed giving you some info you want. I am sorry. Please ask and I will answer any and all questions. Here are some pictures of the issue.

Correct me if I'm wrong please. When our plants go to flower, we give them less nitrogen so the buds grow more than the leaves do. Less nitrogen means the leaves will yellow, which also means the plant is using up the stored nutes. Less nutes in the plant means a cleaner, better flavor to the buds. I do agree that there was some nute burn in the past. The tips look like curled up and brown like that is a good indication of nute burn.

I don't think there is anything seriously wrong with your plant. How soon till harvest? 3-4 weeks?

Also, here is a chart to help with the leaves.

I agree with you Montana but notice the clawing of some of the leaves and the burned leaves at the bottom... You may very well be right and I don't believe there is much to worry about if pH issues are under control... I've used and still do use FF sometimes and it looks like FF burn to me but make no mistake... I'm not an expert...:thedoubletake:... And again I would wait for Heir's reply....:circle-of-love:

Canna I hope you are right and this is normal. I am freaking because my two other plants aren't experiencing a similar yellowing. It's bag seed so I don't know how much time left to seed (driving me nuts!!!) but hopefully three weeks or less? This affected plant is also showing less resin growth on bud surrounding leaves as compared to the healthiest (greenest) looking plant in this grow.

This is the healthiest girl. Pic taken on the 11th.

MaineGreenery,

I am going to side with the 'there is not that much wrong' group. I am not that sure that adding nutrients immediately after a flush in this case was a good idea though.

Back to the rainwater topic.
Has anyone used fish water? I have an above ground cistern that's about 200 gallons and is about 80 years old. It is made of river stone and mortar. It just needs some minor repair. It is near the back of my garage. I want to add a gutter and downspout to feed the tank.

If I add a pump and some Koi I can do some feeding with the water. Then, maybe try some aquaponics in the future.

I never know

Hi MaineGreenery!

LOL, please, no wise or master when talking about me. I'm a student and always will be. Thank you though.

I don't think I can add much to the awesome job Dennise and CannaM have done, backed up by canyon.

I will say that with bagseed, it is soooo tough to pull off a grow with out an issue. You simply don't know what you're starting with or what to expect. Did the pollen to make the seed come from a good male, a good female, a hermie, or a hemp plant? You don't know.

So, looking at the plant I agree there seems to be or have been a PH issue. If I were worried about PH, which you are, then I would lower it a tad to 6.3.

Dennise has used FF more than I, so her FF burn info is great.

6 weeks in flower on unknown genetics, the plant looks indica dominant. So we might safely assume 8-10 weeks to finish, generally. So 2-4 weeks left, which is about what I would judge/give the buds, just looking at them. I thought 3-4 when I first saw the plant. Some plants really wait to bulk in the last 2 weeks, so it could explode soon. When you think they are getting close, watch for the trichs to tell you when.

Also 6 weeks is about when I like to see them begin to use up the fans, on an 8-9 wk strain.

One last thing that came to mind. How big is the pot and how long has the plant been in it?

:Namaste:

Hi Canyon!

Fish water is like liquid gold. I'm thinking about sneaking into my neighbors catfishery to to...ummm....relocate some of the pond water.

Interwebz search Aquaponics my friend. It's a whole growing system centered around growing fish and plants symbiotically. Murray Hallam, a bloke down under, is the guru. Go have fun and get some ideas from the tube of you. I have about 80% of the components to build a 6000 gallon system.

Gonna agree with what the others have said. Only thing I noticed was the size of the pot. That thing might hold about 2.5 gallons tops and I think you've just run out of soil for those roots. Just a guess of course.

Good morning gang. I was wondering why I stepped on a marble. Are you trying to see if you can make me fall photos?

:circle-of-love:

Dang, I just checked the weather. Next week we are wet and lows in the 60's. Anyone know what that means?

Yes, wonderful beautiful rain. And cooler weather for sure. So, fall is 'round the corner now? Harvests...harvests harvests!!
