Morning and hello all.
I'm sick today. Very sore and swollen throat, snotty, headache. Just crappy.
Hope everyone has a better day than me. I'm checking back out for a while.
Good morning Baby. Sorry to hear you feel like crap.
Let me share a trick Emmie taught me over the holidays when I got sick. Mix up about a tablespoon of cinnamon with about a tablespoon of honey and eat it straight down. Do that twice a day, starting right now. You heard me, right now.
By tomorrow you'll be feeling better, and the nasty cold will depart in record time.
She tells me this is like a magic elixer in their family, and I believe her. It's become a staple for my family as well. Tasty too. Sometimes I mix some up just for a treat.
It works best if you put the cinnamon into the dish first and then drizzle the honey over before mixing. The honey, poured on top, keeps the cinnamon from !poofing! all over the room. Lol!
I'll leave you with a smile. In my home a sore throat was always considered an indicator of your not saying something you wanted to. For some reason you were stifling yourself. My poor children never stood a chance being raised in my home.
I was all about personal responsibility, and I made them own up to their thoughts and the resulting actions. My daughter would get so pissed at me - "Sometimes a sore throat is just a sore throat!!!!!" I can be relentless. Then she'd go off and consider what she might have been stifling and invariably come back with the admission that yes indeed, she'd done just that. She'd take the time to speak the truth and let it go.
It's easier to just speak the truth at first and save yourself the sore throat. My children learned to communicate effectively. Hahaha! I'm not suggesting you have stifled something, but if you have, this might be the time to release it.
Rest, drink plenty of fluids, laugh as often as you can. All those bits of advice your mother already shared with you.
