Good morning. :ciao: Hope your doing ok?
I'm in rough shape from yesterday.
Hunched over 8 hrs straight.
I still have 10 or so to finish.
I had to do it but broke my heart.
I did the math, don't laugh.
The humidity is unsustainable.
100 l a day, it's too much.
So I'm slashing out a 1/3 maby more of leaf matter.
Should reduce the humidity by a bit  hopefully.
Talk soon Amigo.

Happy Birthday @Bill284 .... I'm sure those plants are working on great gifts for you ;)

I'm off to help the landowner celebrate his 50th.

Thank you so much.
I did a lot of pictorials to make it easier to understand.

The layers of perlite are key to aeration.
A 1" thick layer of perlite will hold air in the center of the pot at all times.
The flood drain wait watering method is like a plunger.
The water pushes out old air.
Then sucks Fresh Air in behind every time you water.
so when your watering you filling the pot with air at the same time.

Wet dry is great for regular soil.
I feed my soil girls every day, Every Day.
Full strength nutrients and they eat it up.
Not like a regular pot of soil where it just sits in it for 3 days, waiting.

Layers are key.
Perlite on bottom for drainage.
soil or coco next.To hold nutrients
Then a thick layer of perlite to hold air.
Soil or coco to hold nutrients
Perlite to hold air again.
And so on.
The roots have Air & Nutrients at all times.
It's perfect for them.
Then if you can get root health products mixed in you have the perfect environment.
Bokashi Frass and Dynomyco .But you can use what you can get.
Anything is better than nothing.
But even if you just use layers you will see an improvement.
Works in Air pots, bags, containers.

I leave the root ball sticking up an inch.
When you water it automatically goes to the outside rim.
Then the most I call it drains the water away.
always to the outside.
So roots chase the water to the outside of the pot.
Getting more air.

I layer the cups and feed with a marinating needle.
Works fantastic for roots.

I put perlite layers in for air and drainage.

Holesalwayson the bottom.
NO STANDING WATER IN THE CUPS.
But extra Holes in it are good for air.

Drain hole always on the bottom.

Hope I explained it properly.
If you have a specific page I can go over it with you.
Keep the questions coming seriously, I want everyone to know this stuff.
This will revolutionize container growing, believe me.
Look at the results.
SIP is great, but you don't need any extra equipment to do this.
You should even do it in a SIP, it will improve things.
Hope your having a great day. :ciao:
Talk soon.

Ok, great, thanks!
I get the new rental house in maybe 2-3 weeks.
I hope to soak seeds just as soon as I get relocated.
I get 20 plants here, so I am planning a SIP vs. SWICK vs Bill284 Method Parfait shootout with matching seeds.
(I might also do some control groups with @ReservoirDog 's 60/40 vs. Parfait, etc.).
I figure with 20 plants we could try a few experiments.

It seems like a lot of people want to come up with an "ideal method for nubes"... haha, so maybe, I am the guy to test??
I've got two big trash cans of supersoil, several bags of GeoFlora, several bags of DynoMyco, and various other ferts and amendments.
I want to spring for SuperThrive, but shipping is a killer.
We are in the process of slashing the budget now, so I want to find a way to SIP or SWICK or Bill's Parfait with Azi's nutrients (and right now he is only having success with topwater).
(The budget is getting tighter, so I've got to adjust.)

Maybe I should start the new thread tomorrow or something, so I can do the pre-planning there?
It would really be A++++ Super Great to have all you guys' inputs on the planning process!!
And maybe I can ask for your review when it is time to build the pots?
(I might get frisky and start them this week, but I think all things considered it would be best to start fresh over there once I get the new greenhouse(s) built, etc.

Thanks again for the excellent pictures and help!
And for the welcoming atmosphere.

Not sure what page your on.
I can't remember now either, haha! But something like 9.
I was on a run. I hope I can catch up more this week.
Already I am learning a lot, and am eager to try one of Bill's Perlite Parfaits!
I did a watering pictorial, not great I know.
I'll do another and get Stacey to hold the camera.
Haven't seen it but I think I get your point below.
So after I wet the top of the pot I leave it.
Then when I come back I flood the top, usually the root ball is sticking up so all water goes to the outside edges.
That flood of water pushes down.
That forces old air out.
The suction behind it brings in fresh air.
Like a plunger to your pot.
Woosh all at once.
Yeah, that is what I thought you meant.
That makes total sense.
One question though, which again is your Perlite ring around the outside.
If the rootball sticks up in the center, forcing the water to the Perlite ring on the outside, then doesn't the water just run off down the sides?
It would seem great for aeration, but how do you get water into the soil????
Because if it is "gadoosh!" flooding the pot, doesn't it just run off down the sides?
Yeah, I think maybe a video would be good.
Is there a URL for the existing video?
Or is it on a page I have not got to yet?
(I think I am on page 9, I hope to make more progress this week, Father willing.)
I flood stop and wait, giving time to drain and plunge over and over.
Until it reaches the bottom then I stop.
But it must reach the bottom.
I'll do a drawing when I get a minute.
Hope everything is going good.
Talk soon.
Ok, great, thanks!
And I hope I will run into that existing video.
Probably I can get the idea.
I hope your day is going well!
