hey the general hydroponics ph down bottles says use for only nutrients and for fertilizers is it ok to use for ph ing your tap water

You don't use pH Up or Down until all your nutes are mixed. Some people even let them sit for an hour before checking the pH. Don't pH your tap water, pH your nutes.

You dont correct the ph of just regular tap water?? bc my taps regular ph is 8.0 im talking when i dont use nutes at all and just watering with only tap water your saying leave my tap water at 8.0??

If your in soil the microherd should take care of it for you. In hydro always check your mix after you add all your nutes.

So dont worry about adjusting ph when im just using regular water bc iv been doing it the whole time does it hurt to do it or is it best to leave it alone and water into ffof soil with my tap at 8.0 all this is confusing bc what i read on internet it says to water in soil with a ph of 6.0 to 7.0 lol

Ffof should be around 6.8 maybe a little less.

Personally, I would not trust the soil to buffer the pH if it comes out of your tap at 8. And you pH the total nute solution after you have mixed it all together, not the just the water you are using.

Nutes change the pH of the water so you want to pH to the nute solution just before you feed it to the plants.

I'm still going with add more cal/mag than you had been previously. Then watch new growth as old growth doesn't recover.

i have a phosphorus defiency i just watered yesturday tho do i go on and water with p nutes now or wait till next watering

I'd wait until next water. And personally, I don't recommend FFOF. I don't want soil with nutes in it as it makes it hard to give the plants what they need when they need it.

I've used Dr Earth Pot Of Gold mixed about 50/50 with perlite in the past (both are available at home depot). Lately I've been schlepping to Lowe's because they have ProMix HP which has tons of perlite in it already. Haven't figured out which is cheaper though . I'll probably save the ProMix for cuttings and sprouts (photo sprouts) and go back to the Dr Earth/perlite for pots because I still have a whole bag of it!

It was the best I could find at Home Depot. It's got a lot of good stuff in it and can be used to brew compost tea as well.
