Anybody know what this guy might be?】

What is it?
It is a small subsection of the Rove Beetle family commonly called Devil's Coach Horse
If it bites, you won't forget it in a hurry, it can paralyse your leg for several hours and hurts like nothing else I've ever known, like more painful than a Viper [Been bitten by both, lucky me lol]
 
f**k me i'd be attacking it with hammers at this point .. :p
Yeah, on the veg plot they tend to offer little resistance to the coming together of two bricks

What is in the photo looks like a common Earwig. Look up Earwig and then see if the photos look like what you have found and read about Earwig insects.

Earwigs are fairly common in natural dirt soils since they eat other small insects, insect eggs, decaying wood and other organic material, and sometimes young seedlings or newly developed leaf material.

They are not poisonous though their little pincers might pinch the skin.
