HashGirl Implements A Perpetual Grow

I'm curious about #3 is all
I say grow em all lol but that's me I always want to grow them all
I meant holding it in veg for longer, not chopping it :) Did you think I meant to only keep 2? No, I am also one who wants them all to survive!

@Stunger recently posted some excellent posts on determining sex. His first step is to take multiple pics of the early gender structures so I've done that here although his are much closer up. He also stipulates that the photos be clear so I deleted all the blurrier pictures. However, I don't think I have enough experience to determine sex based on the other 4 features Stunger looks for to determine sex, i.e. base, shape, filling and surface appearance. Or perhaps, I just need to get as close up as he did.
Looking good HG, but I can't make a call on the gender of those 3 plants from the pics as it is difficult to know what we're looking at. I can only get a suggestion of the shape as you pointed out, of which the first plant appears female in the shape of the gender structures. But of the other 2 plants they may suggest more of a male shape but unfortunately none are clear enough for me to be able to say one way or the other.

I am interested to know what @Stunger thinks of the sexing.
I am more guessing on these Carmen.

Oh phew!!! :green_heart: :green_heart: me too!! Me too!

I put 4 new seeds into water today and I have yet to post what the last 2 strains are going to be.

First up is Raspberry Cough. I've grown this one before (in fact, in my last grow) but I didn't but a very big yield because she was infested with bugs in veg and pretty much ignored in late flower since both Felonious and I were sick.

Here is the info:

RASPBERRY COUGH

Major Terpenes:Myrcene, Caryophyllene, Linalool
Genotype:Photoperiod
Phenotype:Hybrid (Sativa-Dominant)
Breeder:Nirvana Seeds
Genetics:Cambodian (Kampuchean) Landrace x Ice
Projected Flowering Time:63 to 77 days
Projected Yield325-375g / sq metre
THC %:21
CBD %:<1

Raspberry Cough is a highly recommended medical marijuana strain. Its ancestry is a Cambodian (Kampuchean) landrace cannabis strain with exceptionally high levels of THC production for a mother and its father was Nirvana's very own strain Ice.

Raspberry Cough is an F1 marijuana strain which is typified by a plethora of red hairs in its buds. It is a tall plant that tends to display blue colourations as it nears maturity especially if the temperature dips during the hours of darkness. This is a reasonably easy to grow, predominantly sativa plant which, due to its lanky structure, fits in perfectly with a Sea of Green growing set-up, a technique which will deliver the highest returns indoors. Flowering takes between 9 - 11 weeks yielding 400 - 500 gr/m2. Outdoors, it is only really suitable for warm climates such as a Mediterranean type.

Growers can expect to harvest large colas of quite dense buds which, although identifiable as having a "Dutch" flavour encompassing earthy berry and pine it nevertheless has notes of Asian spices. The overall effect is calming and soothing yet with a happy feeling that is uplifting and energetic.

Raspberry Cough is a recommended medical strain which has applications for the treatment of depression, pain, and headaches.

If you would like to grow your own Raspberry Cough, you’re in luck, because it is quite easy to grow and is a great strain for cannabis novices. It can grow to be quite tall – up to around ten feet to be more precise – so keep that in mind if you need to be discreet when you are growing as it can be seen from pretty far away.

If you are going to be growing indoors, it may take around 11 weeks before you start seeing flowers. It can be estimated to produce around 14 to 18 oz of bud per square meter, so it’s a pretty good yield on average. Raspberry Cough grows best in soil or in a hydroponic setup as well. Once you start seeing purplish undertones in the plant, you’ll know that it is mature. If you’re going to be growing outdoors, the Raspberry Cough really likes a warm climate.

It grows really tall, so be prepared for that – and it also can leave quite a lingering odor, so if you have nosy neighbors and it’s not legal where you live, then you must exercise caution when growing. But, if you are adamant and score some Raspberry Cough the outdoor way, it yields around 18 oz of bud per plant. It usually doesn’t start flowering until the end of October, so it can be quite a wait, but a worthwhile one.

And, here's what it's supposed to look like in flower:

And, I became interested in this last strain when @Carcass grew a beautiful one:

SUPER SILVER HAZE (1 seed)

Primary Terpenes:Terpinolene, Myrcene, Caryophyllene
Genotype:Photoperiod
Phenotype:Hybrid (Sativa-Dominant)
Breeder:Crop King
Genetics:Skunk x Northern Lights x Haze
Projected Flowering Time:56 to 63 days
Projected Yield:450 - 500 g/m² indoors
THC %:19
CBD %:<1

Sativa Classics
Super Silver Haze fem marijuana strain takes a special place among the cannabis plants. It combines a strong psychotropic Sativa buzz and smoothly developing sedative Indica effect. This lady is a real legend and was awarded the first prize at HTCC three times in a row - in 1997, 1998 and 1999.

How to Grow a Champion?
This bud shows the best results when grown outdoors in good soil and sunny summer. Its height can reach 3 meters. Such a big bush can bring up to 1.5 kg of abundant buds. It grows without problems indoors, bringing a slightly less yield than outdoors. Green House Seeds recommends the following conditions for indoor cultivation:
  • 27 C – day temperature, 20 C – night temperature;
  • pH - 5.5, EC - 1.5 - 1.8;
  • Humidity - up to 70% in the vegetative period; 50-60% during the flowering period;
  • It is recommended to use SCroG or LST.
Super Silver Haze – Potent Effect and Deep Relaxation
The cannabinoids of this strain (14.70% THC, 0.1% CBD, and 1.4% CBN) produces a unique set of effects. It clears your mind and lets you enjoy a good body buzz mixed with a lot of mental stimulation. Your creativity and intellect will get a big boost and is great for deep discussions. For these reasons this strain is highly recommended for people who work in creative fields, such as artists, musicians, and writers, or those who move in creative circles.

Regardless if you are working on a major project, discussing international immigration policies with friends, or just looking for some creative stimulation, Super Silver Haze will serve you well.

Here is how Carcass's looked in flower:

And, here is what the seed seller shows as what the flowers should look like:

I think Carcass' is prettier. What do you think?

And, proof re seeds:

And, oh yeah, I've decided to try naming my seeds with girl names in an effort to not have multiple photos of JHs (Jack Herers) for example.

Nice lineup, HashGirl! ...Fingers crossed they all sprout for you!🤞

I think that SSH might actually get you high (I know you've got a super high tolerance)-
I only smoked mine twice, and decided it was too strong for me (I'm a real lightweight) My sons made short work of the rest of it- they said it was a high school favorite of theirs...

They say 19% thc, but it felt more like 25 to me..
and for an indica-looking plant, it sure was a very sativa-ish high...

Thank You for the kind words, HashGirl..💚
And best of luck with the grow!

Okay. I have more pics of the gender structures of the Purple Satellites. They're still nowhere as closeup and clear as Stunger's were but I'm hoping they're a little helpful?

I thought PS3 might be male but then I looked at Stunger's pictures again and now, I just don't know.

My hand isn't very steady when I take photos so I don't know if I could get any better ones.

I haven't flipped them yet as I'd like to know if they're males before I do. And, if they are all girls, then I will do as Krissi and Carm suggest: 2 to be flipped and 1 to wait another month to flip.

I thought PS3 might be male but then I looked at Stunger's pictures again and now, I just don't know.

You have a lot of pics of areas that aren't where you see sexual characteristics. This is the area to focus on rather than the stipules or new growth...where the arrow is pointing next to Rudolph:
I agree with Shed's comment, that some of your pictures appear to be capturing the stipules and not the actual gender structures, it is probably good to show the stipules too then it is clearer which structure is which. I could only see 2 pics that look very female, for plants #1 and #3, but then I realised it was the same pic shown for each (IMG_9890.JPEG). I feel that whatever plant that pic is from, due to the long shape it is very likely to be female and is further supported by appearing to have a good female base rather than a pedestal base which would indicate a male (but that is going off just one pic).

Your #2 plant, the pics aren't great, but it appears very much to be male. Too crab claw and low ball like in shapes.

But be mindful there is an element of presumption and guessing to my comments.

It's easy to tell the sex without magnification... it's all about timing.
In HG's case she is trying to determine sex before full maturity of the gender structures is showing, i.e. before pollen balls or pistils are showing.

I guess you are referring to after balls/pistils are showing, at which point I'd agree that it is easy, and indeed about timing. But waiting until this point causes some folk (certainly me) to lose too much time, space and resources by continuing to train the plants if they are not female.

I’m a Sativa lover too and never heard of that but I think I’ll be dropping in. Great choice HG. CL🍀
