Hair toxin home remedys and myths

I just wanted to address the most recent myth surrounding propylene glycol as a miracle ingredient being used by the "Mcmethode " folks. Propylene glycol is used for two reasons in skin and hair products one is as a thickening agent to make the shampoo thick or gel like because of the misconception that thicker means stronger. The other reason is it helps the product absorb into the skin or hair better. Now it is useful in pulling the useful properties of a product into the hair it in itself doesn't remove anything.

The FDA recognizes it as "generally safe" but it's v. similar in structure to ethylene glycol (antifreeze), which is why they're both sickly sweet. The FDA is often wrong. It's not that bad for you, but I personally don't use imitation extracts in my food or my cooking because of junk like propylene glycol.

Key phrase: used to be in Dr. Pepper. It started out as a tonic drink/patent medicine and they'd put everything in their bathroom cabinet into those things.

i thought so im not sure i would use it on my head ... but its great for cigars .....

its used in most of your hair products in different levels its used in high amounts in hair razor and such as it is a penetrating agent to deliver more important properties.

now there is some product out there telling people to use green tea and baking soda to assist there product ??? if some hair mudd needs you to pour green tea on your head to help it must be some lame ass. Products that say to use these things should be avoided
