H0bbyGr0wer89 - Soil - White Widow - 2016

disregard the hair or two - I have a Siberian Husky.

His hair makes it's way onto everything.... lol

Two cats and a dog over here, so I feel your pain. It's a never ending battle.

She looks great to my eyes. Closing in on the end.

:high-five:

I did a few things wrong, so growth was stunted a bit I think. But I vegged for about 8 weeks from germinated seed.

She is now 50 days into flower.

Thanks, guys!

I figured it was a deficiency (my flush is working!). I wanted to make sure it wasn't becoming "too deficient" or anything of the sort that would hurt the end product.

Here is a few pics of my current trichoms. It's a fine line between clear and cloudy... but I think most are cloudy, with a few starting to turn Amber (I want an "up" high). Interested in your opinions.

Today is the day!

She was flushed for two weeks, sat in the dark for 3 days, and dried up completely.

Today, I chopped her down and trimmed the nugs down to the "final product." I'm going a little out of the box here on this one... I have a net that hangs in my grow tent - so I skipped the "hanging upside down by the stem" part. Could bite me in the butt...

After I let them hang in the tent at ~72 degrees and 50% RH humidity for about 5 days, I will transfer them into a 1 gallon curing jar with a Bodeva 62% RH 2-way humidity control packet for a minimum of 2 weeks to cure.

Here are the pics of the process in chronological order!

Beautiful, frosty nugs you have there. Well done. Cant wait to see your final weight. Widow is so beautiful. Really one of my all time favorites.

Thank you, Lazarus! It was a fun journey and I learned a lot for the next round. I won't be AS MUCH of a newbie

Nice work! looks great man, got a nice reddish tinge to it.

bet it smells delicious

Well shoot - after they have dried up a bit and shrunk down... I only got a little over one ounce out of her. Oh well - at least it's good quality and I learned a lot!

time to get your next journal fired up then, eh!?

Its a hell of a step towards excellence, i'll be happy if manage 1oz per plant on the first run!

Yessir -

I've got several seedlings going. Between 2 - 6 sets of leafs. I'm having a bit of trouble germinating the "Shenghai Express" seeds for some reason (the rare 100% Sativa psychedelic one, allegedly). I have one germinated seed of that strain so far, which I just moves to a little cup (soil).

I currently have:
- Purple Nepalese (1) - FEM - Seedling
- Zambian Gold (1) - FEM - Seedling
- Mozambique Poison (3) - REG - Seedling
- Shenghai Express (1) - REG - Germinated Seed (trying for 2 more)

...I also have a small, young White Widow plant that flowered along side my WW that I harvested. I just topped her (took the top bud) and plan to re-veg. This is going to be my experimental plant - I'm probably going to try to transfer it to DWC after it re-vegs a bit (just going to try and hope she doesn't die).

If all goes well, I will have 5 plants - each a different strain. Maybe more or less than 5 depending on how my REG plants turn out... they could be all male, all female, or somewhere in between.

Here's a picture of the seedlings. The empty cup now has the germinated SE seed in soil.

You'll notice one very odd looking seedlings. I have a closeup of it in the second photo. I have NO clue what the heck this is - ever seen anything like it? Same soil, same water, same germination, same everything. My only guess is that it's just a deformed plant lol. Does that happen? Or... it got damaged coming out of it'so shell.

yeah, from what i understand it happens. Just like any species of type of life form, you're gonna get the odd deformity now and then; could be that that particular seed was one of the last to form and didnt reach full potential before it was harvested, could just be the luck of the draw. Either way, i wouldn't discount her (hopefully her) just yet!

Ive had a few weird things happen with seeds. Found a bag seed in some bubba Kush x GSC and instead of going 1,3,5,7 on the fan leaves it went 1,7,5,7. For some reason it skipped 3 lol. Pissed me off when a mouse chewed through the stalk haha, but at least it was just a bag seed

Ok peeps - likely the last update of the thread.

The bud is dried and now curing with a Boveda 62% RH packet. The bud is not complete, but since it basically looks now how it will when it is done and since you cannot smell through the computer.... it doesn't really matter that it isn't cured yet and I'll just update you now :)

Hey guys,

I have about 1 more week to go until the buds are cured enough to have a first "real" taste - thought I would update you all with a pic of my end-product, along with a pic of the next round - starting from seed is so slow... *sigh*
