H00k's Not So Hillbilly This Time Grow - Girlz 2017

Oh I should have sent that private. Chemically reduced and all that, lmao. Anyway, I hope Trig isn't in the hospital.

Cue the Blue Öyster Cult... She's As Beautiful as a Foot er, I mean Godzilla.

Are you taking any of the Mexis to Mexico, heh?

...I wish!...usual street fare is crap...and what they call chronic is just OK...I won't buy it, but missus h00k does...lolool...she's the bigger smoker, so its only fitting......they have a dog sniffing all the luggage as it comes off the plane the past few years(WTF!??)...personally I don't think he could sniff out a Tbone sitting open under my smuggled smoked salmon...but why tempt fate!??...LOLOOL...cheerz...h00k...:Hookah:

They're worried about people smuggling drugs into Mexico?

Try Uruguay next time. They seem to be legalizing (or may already have). Heard something about government sales, even, but IDK. Seems to be one of the more progressive countries (in many different ways) down there. And Uruguay hasn't made the evening news once this week for a Netflix scout and his automobile getting filled with lead.

...Yeah, I get the Database error page when I try...curiously enough, when you click on the contact them link, the mail address is for Alex...will give it a few days and try again...cheerz...h00k...:Hookah:

I don't even get that, just the text that I mentioned on a plain white background.

It annoys me, sure. But it worries me, too. I remember the horse mentioning something about having taken care of things and not having to worry about whether or not the forum would "live" for as long as he did. Or words to that effect, you know. Everyone is pretty chilled out these days, so I can't see it being the result of p!ssing someone off, lol. And, besides, you can't hack a hacker ;) . So... IDK?

I just don't have contact information for anyone, any more. And I don't play where any other members do (present company excluded, of course), just visited there and my linux distro's forum, other than that... 99.99infinity% of my online activity is right here. Only so many hours in the day, kind of thing.

Thank you, my brother! I hope... Well, I'm worried about the horse, you know?

And, from the numerous "thanks" and "likes" that this particular portion of the conversation has accumulated... I'm wondering if there are actually some members of da H00D hanging out here in cannabisland - or if some people will just like any post, lol.

Isnt that called the Facebook-syndrome? Or is that already old?. Im Subbed and i do read it.

I couldn't say. I don't know anything (positive) about Facebook.

Now, is it time for the good Doctor to gift us with another picture of his wonderful plants? Possibly even with a glimpse of that awesome scenery in the background?

Yeah...I remember some semi-cryptic health references...couple other formers have been having health issues as well...sucks getting older, but...sucks more when friends succumb to life...no one gets out alive...but, I hope its just a server glitch...I don't mind people liking posts, even if they may be off topic or for anything said...tells me people are reading and participating...if I hear back from Buick...I'll keep Ya' informed...

Welcome NS!...lolool!...Glad to have Ya' aboard ...cheerz...hook...:Hookah:

Yeah...I remember some semi-cryptic health references.

Me, too. IIRC (and we all know that's a "flip a coin" thing :icon_roll ), it wasn't exactly something minor. Maybe... cancer in the past? IDFK.

couple other formers have been having health issues as well...sucks getting older, but...sucks more when friends succumb to life.

You... betcha. You'd think it'd be easier with "Internet friends" since 99 times out of 100 we never get to meet them in the real world, and even when we do, they're not people that live near enough to us that we routinely see them. But if something happens to a "real-world friend," neighbor, or family member we generally read about it in the paper or see the report on the evening news (or, occasionally, the local police record  ). With Internet friends, we largely don't even know their real names, so how could we possibly know what befalls them? Here, the subject matter combined with today's legal climate prevents us from disclosing who we are. One or two members know who I am, and I think the forum owner does, too, but other than that... 150,000+ members who might "know" me - but they don't even know my name. At the little home on the web for the remnants of our little group of ex(?)-seafaring rascals (lol) and skywatchers... IDK if anyone does. I think Bert (whatever happened to him) learned it. And I always kind of figured that if the wonderhorse never learned what it was, it was because he never bothered to expend what for him probably would have amounted to very little actual effort. Other than that? No.

People stop visiting forums - or the forums go down - and you're just left to wonder.

I hope its just a server glitch.

Yeah, me too. But fook, man, that's like hoping that Mario Andretti hasn't made it across the finish line yet because he forgot where it was. Kind of thing. Seems somewhat implausible. Plus, some of the members had other means of contacting him (including voice, IIRC). So... IDK.

I don't mind people liking posts

No, no, I don't mind it. I just got a chuckle out of those particular ones. But that's okay, too. I don't chuckle all that often, and can surely benefit from each and every one that occurs.

even if they may be off topic

Seriously, bro, can you see ME complaining about something being off-topic? ROTFLMFAO. Whatever it was that Butch (RiP) used to use, if I could remember the combination of letters. Hey, there's a thought. Nope, doggone it, I can't remember the http for his memorial site, let alone my password. The user name, I can remember :icon_roll ; I actually thought about using it here, once, when someone asked me how I'd feel about changing it. Those who were not in any way involved with our previous hobby wouldn't recognize it. And, well... I sort of assume that those who were... Have already figured it out (ROTFLMFAO again).

if I hear back from Buick...I'll keep Ya' informed...

I know you will, and I appreciate it. I'm going to try that sending positive energy thing. I'll probably just succeed in screwing up someone's television reception, but one never knows, do one? ;)

People seem to like a post even when someone is sick or something bad happens.. I think some people click like before even reading a post.
Afew people disappearing lately. Hey Mister Hook, if that Orient Express fills in,, that's going to be massive.. GL and Keepem Green

I use the "like" to track who I have visited and where I am in the conversation. The old duders head has too many threads on the go, bit of an addiction it seems.

Great evenin to ya's. UA, yes , the trick is to only subscribe to the threads,..or journals that you will be able to contribute too, and actually read and comment , or joke about. I find about a dozen or so can be manageable ...most days..:)
As far as "liking" or "thanking" someone's post...it really just gives the ' poster' an idea of how many peeps are hangin about , reading the journal..is all. To 'thank' , takes it a step further and gives the reader a chance to really stand out and give support , more than just a 'like' does.
Have a great ,..rest of the evening gang!:high-five:

I dunno' Woody...I wonder about that on some posts as well...but...sometimes I will "like" and maybe even "thank" a post because I appreciate the honesty/openness of the posters willingness to share/vent under duress or dire circumstances...and if appropriate and I have the words will reply as well...that Orient has potential for sure...I'd like to see more pistils, but she is the least developed of the harem and will prolly be the last to finish, so we'll see...

...lolool...its easy to get drawn into different journals...so much going on and making new friends...does get a bit overwhelming sometimes when Ya' open Yer' email and see a mess of notifications, and its...oh fook...I got some catching up to do...

...Duggs...always glad to see Ya' stopping by!...like Yer thinking...always appreciate anyone stopping by...I like it even more when peeps who I consider friends continue to contribute!...looking at a couple 20 gal pots being incorporated in to next years grow...they're half the price of 15 gallon pots!??...FFS!...lolool...took a few pics tonight...will put them up manana....

I have my account's forum settings adjusted so that I automatically subscribe when I post in a thread. I just use my User CP page (which lists subscribed posts in which there are new post activity) to keep track of them. Looks like I've "only" got 84 threads there that I'm currently behind on :icon_roll . I try to check for spambots dropping new carpet-biscuits, see if there are any new member introductory posts that haven't received at least one friendly response, and people posting threads about issues that I might be able to help with (again, I try to pay more attention to those with no prior responses).

I'm sure that I miss plenty of all of them; we appear to have a much higher activity count than we did five+ years ago. In fact... It's often hard to find the time to investigate new (to me) threads solely for ME, lol - I routinely see ones whose thread title interest me, but if they've got many pages (and my settings are for 40 posts/page) already, I sometimes pass on them, knowing how far behind I'd be. I need a... clone. Several... One to sleep ;) , one to (attempt to) be helpful, one to read for personal pleasure and knowledge... and one for life in general. No, wait, I could do that part. Or maybe I could take the "sleep" duties for a while, lol?

I use the Thanks button... Sometimes it's me "saying" thanks for doing and/or teaching a thing for/to me, other times I use it on a post that might not help me personally, but that I expect to help someone. I use the Like one to show general appreciation. Sometimes I'll do both, lol - or use them interchangeably. Err... Or forget to use either (sorry). I don't use the REPutation thing all that often any more; after a while, your REP score gets built up to the point where you can REP a newbie who has one post... and the member goes from one green REP box all the way to "This member has a reputation beyond repute." and maxed-out number of green boxes. If I could add one green box and a reasonable amount of REP points at a time, I'd use the function more often.

Whatever works. This is a community made up of LOTS of different people - and we each do things a little bit differently in life. Speaking of which, for me, there isn't really any benefit to having email notifications, because I usually visit the forum at least once/day anyway.

And... Posting style/content... Sometimes, that enables you to realize that you've run into someone before on the Internet ;) .

looking at a couple 20 gal pots being incorporated in to next years grow...they're half the price of 15 gallon pots!?

Years ago, Pepsi / Mountain Dew had little ten(?)-ounce glass bottles in convenience stores; they cost more than the one-liter bottles did :rolleyes3 .

BtW, I received a new LED product, one of our new forum sponsor GROWant's products. I'll be starting a journal in the next day or two. Hope to see y'all visit.

Thats a big post! Normally I "just" realize that the "staff" is doing Everything it can to help People.. I'm not Sure If you just stand out or that everybody on 420 is like This..

So far Only good People came along and I have deep respect for everyone that is trying to make everybody feel like home.

You are doing a great Job and I wish you very big yields with the growant light!

It was time to compliment the People helping and giving advice even with so many journals going on.

Lets all grow old together.

I'm not Sure If you just stand out or that everybody on 420 is like This.

I've learned a lot here just from reading some of the wealth of information available, met new friends (and gone on to meet a couple in the real world), and have undoubtedly benefited from the general attitude of positivity.

I'd like to think that most people try to help others - if not here online, than in their own versions of "the real world." Because that's just how they are, because they're trying to "pay back" by helping others in the same way they were helped... or even to help work off their karmic burden.

Lots and LOTS of helpful people here, NaturalSpirit. I'm just "mouthier" than average, lmao, so I guess you might have a greater chance of seeing one of my posts than the next random member's. I appreciate the kind words, but I'm nobody special.

I wish you very big yields with the growant light!

Thanks for that, too. I don't expect big yields, as I haven't grown the strains before and am missing a couple of important tools (pH and EC/TDS meters). But I'll be trying, lol, and of course want to put on a decent "show" for the other members and be able to give folks an idea of the sponsor's product and its abilities.

I do Enjoy your way of writing! And i Only found helpfull and friendlt People so far! It would be great to get more People in my own journal of message. For the help and the great Positive energy here. You are Also right about that Positive mindset and trying to "pay back"

Wishfull thinking is so great.

No matter How big the yields are, the love going in is the best thing to do.

Ahhhh yes, yes yes yes, I really wanted to reply to this. For two reasons, the first being that I have seen TorturedSoul dipping in and out of quite a bit of the journals I follow over that last few weeks. Yes I wrote that not directly to you TS lol but about you to ahhh the person who had just posted to you but I can't see their name as I post this, sorry, I'll edit in in after I post the reply .. But I kind of have a slight addiction to his/ her writing. I believe he's a he though. I'm enthralled most days at how well he can capture the essence in his words.

EDIT: for NaturalSpirit

At times it's the other post they may get in the way and I'll move on. I enjoy how TS really knows how to express himself and can actually help other express in better detail or understand in better detail whatever scenario/ situation may be occurring.

I wouldn't let him get away with saying he's nobody special! He's definitely one the mouthiest hahaha and that is obviously his spotlight point and a great quality to have.

Ok TS I'll stop boasting on ya, obviously I think your pretty cool. Take it easy everyone and H00k, your plants look great!!! Can't wait to the end result, hope you don't mind my popping in to boast on your pal TS, I'm just in great mood this early a.m. ..
