GT's Ongoing Garden of Weeden - Keep It Simple Stupid!

Hey GT....Those buds look mighty fine!!!!

I remember you saying a little while ago you were low on funds. Well, did you hear about the offer that Blue Planet Nutrients is giving?!! They will provide nutes for only shipping cost if you do a grow journal and mention there name in the heading!!! That is their way of advertising and giving back to the community.

I have heard and seen great things about the BPN line so I am going to give it a try. Ordered my nutes already. The nutes are much less expensive than the ones I have been using even without this awesome offer.

I notice on their feeding schedule they recomend 18 hour for veg. I have always done 24 hour light cycle. What do you think about an 18 hour light period for the veg stage?

My dream is to enter into the strain breeder world, and Sugar Cane to be my first contribution .... But so far, just a dream...:420:

Originally, growing your own cannabis plants was a dream, correct? Well, then, dreams do come true. I'm sure God hasn't let you forget that.

foliar feed with Snow Storm Ultra and Overdrive, half strength of recommended on bottle .... the post in your journal about gettin an extra crop by veg indoors then flower in late winter / spring, this is what I prefer.....MJ plants LOVE the light at that time of year, the spectrum brings out a lot of colors...and if timed right, awesomely brilliant purples, specially if weather is right...

my very first grow was outside, best plant i ever grew, i would love to grow outside again i just have way to many nosey neighbors...i think its the best way to grow, i used all MG products and the plant came out amazing!!!

Ah! That explains the milky color! ;)

No doubt about flowering outside from mid August through early November! :thumb:

This is most of the popular Indica strain's natural flowering time, so if you can take advantage of it outdoors, their genetics are predisposed to give you the ultimate harvests and the most brilliant colors! Just look at my Blueberry Kush and Grand Daddy Purple yields! :)

Those were just on the cusp of the prime flowering period. I can't wait to see what my two bigger GDP plants produce not to mention all the wild Purple Urkle I have on my back hill. Those things are HUGE now! Close to 6 feet tall and loaded with buds, 100% natural flower cycle for those. No forced 12/12.

Gonna try and get some photos of them for my journal today. ;)

Goose, I was talking about flowering in March-April...

Ooops! I misunderstood you. :sorry:

As long as you don't have any frost threat where you live you can definitely take plants started indoors to finish outdoors as early as March. Up here, we are still getting frost that early and usually have to wait till the end of April to start planting anything in the gardens. Since this was my first season where I actually brought flowering plants outside to finish with excellent results, I definitely plan to start a batch flowering about 6 weeks ahead of the third week of April, and let them finish outside in the early Spring natural light cycle.

My Blue Cheese plant started to flower naturally outside towards the middle of July. If you go back on the other side of the summer solstice and find the month opposite you get May. Based on that, I would figure that you can safely finish flowering plants outside through the middle of May but not any longer than that, cause the hours of daylight will be too long and the nights a wee bit too short.

As far as I know, Cannabis is not able to detect a "shortening" of the night cycle which would be occurring at this time. I believe that as long as the night cycle is relatively close to 12 hours, the plant will not attempt to reveg itself once it is so deep into the flowering process.

If anyone reading this knows more about Cannabis' light cycle detection capability and my assumption is incorrect, by all means let us know! Looks like both GT and myself will be attempting some outdoor flower finishing come the Spring of 2012!

Provided of course that the world doesn't end!! :trance::laughtwo::partyboy:

Congrats on the great harvest my friend...looks like you got a good bit to hold you over again, huh? I'm very happy for you, my friend. I hope that someday, I might be so lucky...I'm tryin'...I'm tryin' to keep up with all of you awesome growers on here, and that's not easy...
Anyways, I knew you were almost done last time I was here, so I came to see the great buds, and they look as awesome as usual...it seems God certainly has touched you and made you a fantastic grower...I'm so happy for you, my friend...Have a nice long smoke everyday, and think of me...I'm out of smoke right now, again, and am in a good bit of pain...and no compassionate friends are around. Well, I will get thru it somehow...Much love and Blessed Green Harvests forever.....
