GR's Wedding Cake, 6 Plant Grow

Look at those fan leaves on the clones!! my goodness, they gonna fly away bro lol

That is why I do a chit load of trimming during the grow.

Oh yea some just need a regular hair cut,I like to schwazz a few times..... don't judge me plz lol but it seems like it really helps the plant master growth and helps it maintains a steady plant matter turn over rate...idk if scientific but I swear it has a good effect in soooooo many ways that I've noticed

It don't look like it but I finished trim, got about two 5 gallon buckets of trim.
Only leaves with one inch plus stems removed.
Now i will only remove leaves that cover bud sites.

Geezy Peazy!

That's a lotta bud sites @gr865. That pic would make for a great (and difficult) jigsaw puzzle! :Rasta:

Haha !
Holy smokes Batman !! Thats amazing
Nice work gr865

Just a little about my system, I went for that to drip DTW and used it for a few yrs.
Had been wanting to try something different, so in 2022 I purchased a Ebb and Flow system, could not get it dialed in, lost a couple of grows. It was probably the fact that I had 4 surgeries that year and a heart attack.
Here is what I am using now. It is modified from the EBB and Flow system.
I removed the grow pots and put a screen riser to get the Smart Pot even with the top of the drain pots and get the pots off the bottom of the drain pots to prevent plugging.

New setup, !2V converter, 12V RV pump (3 gallon/min, @ 65psi), main filter and fine filter in 35 psi pressure reducer.

55 gallon res (only fill to 40 gallons max). The square bucket to the bottom left of the rez is the collection bucket from the drain to waste liquids, which is pumped into the black 32 gallon trash can see in front of the rez. This is pumped from the trash can to a drain on the outside of my shop that flows into drain lines in the yard that feed the yard.

Well that is my system. In this period of flower I run 4 cycles a day @ 1st = 80 seconds, 2nd & 3rd = 60 seconds, and the forth cycle is 100 seconds to get a good runoff at the end of the day.
Oh yeah, the rest of the system.
This is the Orbit 8 port manifold (at present using only 6 ports).

This is the Rainbird Stream emitter, does a great job of even distribution of the solution.

This system has worked well for me, has been very dependable and has allowed me to leave the system on it's own for 5 days is the longest I have left it. I use clean nute's, have air stone in bottom of rez. I use Torus Hydro, XpH Capsule Model for pH control. Used it when I started using the Ebb and Flow worked great, was not sure it was going to work in the drain to waste system but it is doing fine. I set it at 5.8 and after a few days it stabilized for at least 5 days and when I returned it was 6.01. Being the nerd I am I still check it daily and will only add pH up or down as needed.

Not sure if I have seen or maybe just overlooked but I am noticing on some buds that have very few trichomes on the top of the leaf but on the leaf borders and the underside they are loaded.
Look at the tops of the leaves first and see few trichs but look at the underside, big difference.

Looks like about 10 to 15 days till harvest. According to the breeder it should be ready next Friday but that is the day of my surgery so will need to wait a few extra days.
That is unless y'all want to come over and help harvest.

That's a very interesting observation, tbh I've never had a plant that did that ?? It doesn't look like it's a big deal but it could be genetics,or environment, lighting or even just some plants an not others ? Is it uniform on all plants ? Do u have a loupe ? When looking at crystals on leaf top what do the crystal that are there look like ? What does leaf surface look like ? Have you treated crops or had any major issues during this run? Sorry to rapid fire at you but I'm curious about this ? The ladies look 😍 so I doubt it's a growers error but I never thought much about something like this?

It is all plants, I do have a loupe, but see nothing out of the ordinary, I guess it's genetic.

That's cool to think about,I know different crystals form on different part of plant like top, middle or bottom, plus the different areas on a NUGG produce different crystals also. So when you mention under the leaf crystals are thicker and denser than top of leaf. under the leaf seems like a genetic thing. It sounds like it may have been intentionally bred into plant? Maybe it's just a genetic trait that expressed randomly. Makes me think that even crystal production, shape, size and density could be bred to be more than a naturally occurring bud ? Are there such thing as THC crystal connoisseur's that can breed things like this ?

Just a couple from today. We are getting close.
Lots of cloudy trichs.

Getting close so yoday I untied the ladies in the tent.
They have been tied down now for over 5 weeks and most started standing back up almost immediately.

The buds are tight and have some good weight.

They stood back up and said, "Ahhhh!"

This is a friggin' amazing grow to watch @gr865! :thumb:

This morning I began the harvest process. Rez was down to 1.5 gallons.
1. Added 15 gallon of RO water which took the EC down to 0.3 (my RO system adds back both Cal and some Mag for flavor).
2. Added 10 grams of Epsom, I normally add 1 gram per gallon, but going lite as I am not concerned with any deficiency's at this point. This took the EC to 0.4.
3. Added 0.3 ml/gallon Cannazyme.
4. pH'ed the solution to 6.0. Will need to adjust daily for the first few days to get the X-pH module to stabilize.
Now comes a cool part of the grow. After watering for the past few months with strong nutrients when the plants receive this new solution with very minor amount of nutrients they begin to put out new pistils with vigor. Took some pics of a couple of buds to compare how they look now and what they will look like in a few days.

So tomorrow I have my surgery, they have not canceled yet, LOL.
I am at day 58 and the breeder says 55 to 60 days. The trichomes are mostly cloudy with a couple of red so I need to get them chopped soon. Hopefully I will feel well enough to begin the harvest process on Sunday. I am not going to do a lot of manual trimming, plan on just removing the fans with 3/4" stems. Then after they are ready to be jarred I will use my AC Infinity Bud Bowl Trimmer to finish. Used it on 2/3'rds of my Dos Si Dos
and out of the 20 oz's I trimmed I got 15 zips of beautifully trimmed buds and 5 zips of equally beautiful trim that went with 13 zips of untrimmed buds that went into making CCO.
Just from the looks of it, the buds are very heavy so I am expecting a good haul.

Gave the ladies a hefty watering this morning with just RO water and a little Mag. Normal watering is 45 sec, did 3 minutes 15 sec, got very good runoff .
Now I will let them take up as much solution as it can absorb before I turn the lights off and leave them off till Sunday or Monday morning, then it Chop Chop .
I am not seeing the burst of growth I expected after a few days of watering with RO and low nutrients.
As sticky as they are I see a nice haul of finger hash with this harvest.

Any guess on dry jarred smokable buds?
