the pine trees here in midwest dont get to tall and there easy to climb

was thinking about trying to grow 1 or 2 in a tree top

ANY info on this would great

whats smallest size bucket i can use?
how far down from top of tree should i stay?
will pine needles falling into bucket have any adverse affects?

:thanks:

I just read a thread about someone who did this in a 75 foot tall pine. Search Google. You need to haul water up the tree every few days, so it needs to be in a location where people won't be hiking by (all of the usual guerrilla grow precautions).

I also had this thought, but I figured that it would be more work then necessary. just look for a good secluded spot if possible. Good luck.

i got a small pine forest that would be ideal ...only 30ft tall trees ... great south facing location ...99.9% that will not be seen by any foot or road traffic
spotted from the air would be just unlucky as hell but wont say it couldnt happen

thought i would put up high enough that the deer cant get em
no weeds to deal with ... just need a way to collect water
carrying water there would be a big problem

any ideas on how to collect alot of rain water?

it willl get real old real fast. better to find a accessible spot that you can get water to and camo plant . lil wolf urine should keep deer away?

Run a plastic line to the plant and carry a battery/solar operated fish tank pump and pump water up to the plant :slide: I have a hard enough time messing with plants on the ground, I would kill plants in the air :slide: Good Luck!!!

ya it sounds like a good idea, but I think you will really regret it when you are transformed into a monkey from all the tree climbing you would need to do to tend to them. Water is just one issue, its sooo much easier to go in the ground. Not to mention, your gonna need to put them in somwhat small containers, which will drastically cut down on your yeild. I would rethink this one, as I did, sounds good but not for me. But if your down for that kind of work, its your grow and by all means go for it. maybe incorperate a pully system to help get stuff up. Good luck!

I have a friend in OR that put his in five gallon buckets on pulleys. He didn't have to worry about rain, and since he was very athletic and loved to run and climb trees, it worked for him.

He told me they had growers throughout their area, so the trees worked for him. and he did have some beautiful buds. We were rolling up a couple on his porch and I kept hearing helicopters. He told me that they would usually show up at harvest time. when he would hear them come over the ridge, he would just nonchalantly close the stash box.

Also, every time his dogs would bark, he would yell "Kill!" at the top of his lungs. He said he never had unexpected guests that way.

:hippy:

I can hear it now, "Did you hear about poor Poke Smot? Yeap, that's right. He fell out of a tree watering his plants."
