Growing A Legend: An Auto Tribute To Jack Herer

Hey Jesse, how did you like you Super Silver Haze?

Well, it's the worst of anything I've grown. It was in the middle of summer and I didn't have an additional 20A circuit for AC yet. I should have gone LED only for that one, but learned a good lesson. It's a bummer because I really do like a good SSH! The next grow went much better as the weather got cooler.

Do you go for it all seasons? I'm not sure about next summer at this point but still have time for another grow before then. Lol.

Couldn't be more excited about the journal I'm about to start that has a couple guest appearances in it:)

Yeah I grow year round.....I have a window mounted AC for my rooms so no big deal with the heat. Plus I am up near the New Hampshire border so my weather is a bit cooler than a lot of people's during the summer. Honestly winter growing with low RH is tougher for me.

I just got some Super Silver Sour Diesel Haze beans in that I have been looking for forever it seems. Pretty excited but the strain list is long. Just popped a Blue Dream last week.....will do the JH auto on Monday and then a Northern Lights two weeks after that. Once I get the NL going, I will re-evaluate what to grow next. I try to keep a nice rotation going of a Sativa, an Indica, a nice Hybrid and then a free choice mixed up with high CBD strain. Gives me lots to choose from.

Great job there fertilizer. Might I add that it's nice to add a air stone or 2 in your rez to keep nutes suspended. And for dippers I just drilled holes into the tubing. I was feeding 3 times a day and was gone for 10 days and this will work flawlessly if you have a big enough drop table.
Thanks, was thinking it would probably be a good idea to keep aeration going in there.

Jumping in late to say :thanks: for that great tutorial on the watering system Fertilizer! If anyone has links to a good timer for that system I'd appreciate it.
The biggest thing is to get a digital timer that's 7-day with multiple on/off settings. That way you'll be able to set intervals of at least 1 minute, and select which days. So say you know you need water every 2-3 days, then you could set it to give the pots 1-2 minutes of water on Mon, Thu and Sat. Just for example.

Thanks a tonne for laying that out for us Fert. Ive setup tonnes of deck and garden irrigation detups for clients etc over the years but ive never used a riser and certainly never used the Ts as a watering head. Also, the tip about keeping all of your lines equal......thats clutch info for a small pump. Great little tutorial. How do you find it works with granular amendments to your fertilizer schedule? The pump still has no issues?

I've seen those Blumat units before. Wicked grow idea, maybe down the road when I show my girl how well they work......maybe I'll use the purchase of them as a way to get a vacation lol.....lord knows last year's vacay was overshadowed by dead plants upon arrival home......hence the interest lol.

I haven't ran any fertilizers through it yet, but the pump I got for the second setup has a filter on it so I assume it can be cleaned. I'm probably just going to wrap some cheesecloth around it as well as a pre-filter, because the Earth Juice nutrients I use have a lot of chunky stuff in them.

I'm keeping some LABs in my reservoir because that helps keep things clear in the lines as well.

Sorry playing catch-up today guys. Lots of new stuff in the thread here. Are we still set for the 12th or are other people waiting for their cards?

Again i would like to apologize to van and everyone here for my idiocity, i edited, reported and everything. If there are any problems, please pm me and ill make it right someway somehow.

Damn I am so excited to go on this one!!!

So what are we gonna judge on....obviously we can't judge on taste, but looks, height, wet/dry weight...any other standards to judge by? Or are we all gonna send them to a member to be determined that wasn't part of this grow, lol:)

Hmmm...I was just going through the posts and I don't know how I missed this one. I was thinking the same thing thing about an unbiased third party.

Maybe we should nominate a tester. Who wouldn't want that job? Fuck, I'll drop out and do that haw!

Still waiting on my card boy's. We got an additional 4" here today which generally means our mail carrier doesn't show up...... unbelievable!! Everything's good to go.....got my mini cloner pumping in the house, just need some official ammunition!

I'm looking for recommendations for a high CBD. Do you have one you prefer?

Not yet.....Ms Stank has Harlequin going right now.....Cannatonic is on the docket for her after that and then ACDC behind that. I can give you better input once those three are done. Chris Scorpio is probably a better person to ask about CBD strains, he's grown a bunch.

No worries brother, stuff happens. Thanks for quick response as well as everyone else chimming in and having my back.

Neither rain nor snow nor... ok, maybe snow.

Since I can update photos, I wanted to show you the progress on my little indoor experiment. As you can see, the Tap Root has well-established itself in the paper towel ( sorry fly, I needed to do it for this method LOL, ur still #1 in my books).

I've since replaced the blurple light in there with a 100 watt cob style LED. More than anything, for my own sake. I noticed that my LED light (the blurple one), was causing too much heat in my inside grow cabinet. I have moved these girls inside so that I can keep an eye on them at such a tender young age, plus -20+ last night here.

SSH, my favorite sativa (for now). Nice mild taste, almost sweet, and the head buzz is phenomenal. Just had to throw in my 2 cents worth.
How tall did you SSH get? Have some super lemon haze beans but scared to grow it because I'm using a small space and seems like a lanky plant.

The hazes do tend to get taller and lankier. How much height do you have? You could always scrog or mainline or manifold or flux if you have strict height issues. Also the quality and strength of your light will go a long way in influencing just how tall a strain will be as weaker lights tend to promote more stretching and reaching.

Maybe if more postal workers grew cannabis they would understand the importance of always delivering.....rain, snow, sleet or fog!!
