I tried it years ago but it's a lot of stuffing around. worse than growing LOL. Everything has to be spotless clean. I was hopeless and gave up after about 7 months... Screw it. $27.50 ctn, and it's done properly, in vats and all that... None of this plastic bucket shit.. Clean clean scrub scrub scrub wait wait drink clean clean clean...
 
The worst part of homebrewing is the bottles. Endless bottle washing and capping. I want to switch to 5 gallon corny kegs and make a keg fridge with taps on the door.

Yeah, I brew. 10 gallons (38L) at a time. End cost is usually around 55 cents each 12 oz bottle.

Ditto! I have an American Wheat that needs bottled. Been putting it off for a couple weeks now. Its been fermenting for 5 now so I don't think I should let it go another. Been eying a kegerator but there's always something else to spend money on instead.
 
Yep as soon as possible I'll be going to small kegs.. aprox 17lt each in a modified bar fridge.. Still get the beer from the same place but no more bottling!
That's a real "adult" fantasy.. Beer on tap in my kitchen/shed/garage..!
 
There's a vid online from NZ where as a practical joke a bloke plumbs his mates house with beer.. Every tap, shower, toilet! Took like 7 guys a day. He was stoked.

Its the scrubbing thats keeping me from starting up again. I used to do some great brews....and an apple cider/orange blossom honey mead that looked and tasted like the best champagne Ive had. Now the thought of sitting in the bathtub scrubbing carboys makes it all just NOT look fun any more,

Let's just say that I'm not as enthusiastic about brewing as I once was. Sitting here with ingredients for a brown ale and a chocolate milk stout that I was going to brew last October.

Taking a brief break from cleaning bottles. I'm about 2/3 done but standing at the sink makes my back tie up. Should get back to it before all my motivation escapes me. Then I'll get the family around for bottling. We get an assembly line going and knock that part out pretty quick.

Don't feel bad Dennise, I get lost a lot in this thread too. Sometimes I think it might be easier to understand if I were baked. Then there's the whole cultural difference in sayings. I've learned that "pisser" is good in Aussie and the upper east coast of the US, and where I'm located it's a bad thing. Weed and it's terminology seems to be pretty universal though. So maybe what this world needs right now is to share a big bong rip and peace will prevail.
