Very nice grow Colorfuldayze!

Hi Seraphim and thank you! They would probably be in the compost pile by now if it wasn't for this community. I continued to have a lot of the same struggles I've had in the past but thanks to 420 I now have a lot of new perspective and tools that I can't wait to apply in my next grow! Cheers

Hey there and welcome !! This is THE best site when it comes to growing cannabis if you ask me .. and the only one I ever bothered to create an account for.

Looking at your otherwise great pictures, I see a LOT of wasted light. You might want to look into FLUXING or SCROG, to get as much light as close to as much of the plant as possible, instead of just having a lot of light on the tops, and then gradually less as you progress down the plant.

Light Addict's Quick Guide To Fluxing: Featuring The Original Flux!

Hi PlanetJ, sincere thanks for your welcome and insight, and you are exactly right re: the wasted light. I had a lot of unexpected things go not as planned/anticipated this gro - namely being that 'usually' the outside temp in AK by the beg. of Oct. the outside temps are in the teens and 20s night and day but this was the warmest fall/beg. of winter on record and it just last week started to get in to the teens and we finally got our first real snow. Long story is that the 'single outside window' ventilation approach wasn't adequate and my canopy and room temps were through the roof. I started increasing air flow volume and velocity in the room but that, along w/ our wood stove resulted in RH of 28-30% in the canopy so then I added a humidifier. That helped buffer the temps a little and maintain 50% RH but it was still pretty hot in the canopy (78-81F) and I still had to keep the light higher than previous grows - where I was in a large open cool damp basement and was able to maintain the lights w/in 6" or closer. Yesterday the box fan hanging from the ceiling fell to the floor so I rehung it but this time instead of on the other side of the room pointing at the hood, I hung it perpendicular at the same height and about 3 ft from the hood and omg - canopy stayed at 74F and 48%RH w/o running the 2nd box fan on the floor and the humidifier. I am so looking forward to getting out of my rudimentary ways and trying new things on my next grows. Thank you again for your insight and info, have a great day, cheers

:thanks: :Namaste:

Howdy,
Glad u liked the leaf borer remedy. It's kinda homey, but it usually worx. I usually like 2 start w/home remedies b4 moving 2 chem.

Welcome 2 the community! Loox like we joined around the same time. Nice folx around here and they know so much! Awesome grow! Loved your long and lean Ladies.

Hi Ranger275, thank you for your welcome and kind words. Likewise a sincere welcome to you and definitely love the remedy. I can't imaging that any creature smaller than say 100lbs would have anything but a negative, if not fatal reaction to tobassco. This is indeed a great community that has already provided so much support and insight to my grow efforts and knowledge of cannabis. Thanks again and see you in 420! Cheers

:Namaste:

Me thinks this should not be in this topic. Perhaps start your own topic in the FAQ section. Alternatively, and you will not get around that anyway, go browse seedbanks and check the strain information. You will be looking at at least 6 weeks to harvest, if you start with rooted clones and go to flower right away.

All this is sort of irrelevant tho. What you should look into is creating a perpetual grow. Select a sativa and an indica you think she will like, and get yourself a veg-room .. after 1 month of vegging, put them in a flower room, and start a new batch of vegging plants .. after another month, place them in the flower room ... your already flowering girls will be 2 to 4 weeks short of harvest, after another month, you will have harvested the first batch, the 2nd batch is going to it's last flowering phase, and the new veg batch is ready for flower. You keep this up, and you'll have fresh bud every month.

Any other questions should really be asked in a separate topic imho, as this is an introduction by another member ;)

Hi choptop13 and thank you for visiting. I highly recommend you consider PlanetJ's response and info; me thinks he knows what he is talking about and I concur with the advice he provided. I sincerely wish you the best and hope you can successfully produce your own quality medicine for you and your family. This is THE site that can help you accomplish that. As PlanetJ mentioned, you might start a thread to promote some discussion on the issue and get input from other growers but in the end you'll need to familiarize yourself with the seed sources and the breeders specifications to dial in what you need and want. I hope this helped you. I wish you all the best in your grow efforts. See you in 420, Cheers

Thanks for the info guys I will a little more research and start a thread then need all the help I can get since I've never grow anything indoors and what I did grow was a long long time ago so it was a lot of drugs ago lol

You are most welcome choptop. There are also FAQ and, many of the seed banks which are posted in the Sponsors section (button top right of the site) have search engines built in to their site for specific characteristics - almost like shopping for a car on a manufacturer/dealer website. The extensive varieties and availability of different strains nowadays is almost overwhelming. Good luck and best wishes to you!

Hey colorfuldayze - owe you a big apology. Couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting your journal up automatically. Been following forever, then it dawned on me, I never subbed in. Duh! Well, we're here now. What a dummy. Looking very good, c. Just think how easy a real set-up is going to be, that'll keep you goin'.

Heya too old, great to hear from you! No worries and no apology necessary sir - this was my introduction post when I became a member and joined the 420 community last month. I've wanted to get a short journal up and share my efforts the past month but have been really time stressed and the day job has kept me exhausted the past two months. I am so thankful I have this grow and finally now this community. I have been totally happy with following all of your journals and learning so much. I am going to make a real effort to get the last stages and harvest of my grow up. I'm days away from harvesting the first ones and the others in the next 10 days. I owe it to this community to share it...although I'm concerned it might turn in to a rotten vegetable throwing session lmao :) I will send you an invite when I get something up. I am traveling in January and am planning my next gro in February when I will continue w/ a formal journal. Looking forward to it. Happy dayze and all the best to you too old!

I wondered if you were going to journal it up or if you were happy lurking :)

I look forward to an invite to your journal in Feb :)

...oh and remember, you're a part of that community, it's only collectively good because of it's individuals, and you're one! :)

Thanks Tas!
