Hey sky, lets talk bacteria and such.. specifically Great White and Recharge.

I did some homework on the labels, and if you notice, Great White is much more concentrated in pretty much every ingredient. Whats a bonus, is Great White has things in it that Recharge, and the Subcultures, don't have.

Personally, i am going to order a tub of the powdered Great White, not the liquid mycorrhizae, and do a side by side between Subcultures, and Great White. Cause i'm reading up on the things that are in it, and its good stuff.

On a similar note, i transplanted into the 2gal containers about 6 days ago, and the roots are already poking out the drainage holes, and swirling around the bottom of the pots. They will need to be transplanted withing 14 days of the last transplant, like i anticipated.

I have to attribute that to the Subcultures. I wasn't seeing this much growth using my modified tea. I've completely stopped using aquashield as well. No need to when the roots are this healthy. I'm going to start doing foliar sprays with a silica solution starting next week.

When I was last at the hydro store, the clerk said all Aqua Shield is is liquid chicken shit. If that holds any merit, then it seems AS would be better used in veg. When I get my rooms functioning properly I can give all my attention back to the plants and I will do a side by side of recharge and great white.

Edit - Great White has Trichoderma Koningii - 156,562 prop/gram and Trichoderma Harzianum - prop/gram, still less than Recharge

Good morning GT, Knowing that I am a information whore (excuse my French).
1. Would you mind writing what brand name of the Silica solution you plan on using?
2. When you plan on using it?
3. How often you use it?
4. How much to mix?

If you foliar spray once every two or three weeks, how does this balance with the Silica put in the reservoir? So you don't over dose the silica? I still plan on using Thecapn's recipe until I get my sea legs.

I've been spraying my veg plants every second or third day with only 100 PPM Armor Si as soon as lights snap off. I do add 2ml/gal of it in my res. No noticeable adverse effects, but leaf size gain and branching now occur frequently as my CB-B (runt plant) has now surpassed her counterpart. I am also looking for a good foliar mixup of silica as a stand alone to prevent PM if possible and help her to pack on that weight at the same time. I will share if I find anything of course.

Your 100ppm solution should be more than adequate to do this.

This is a very crude description, but it is an array of bacillus bacteria, mainly bacillus subtillus, that is derived from composted poulty litter. If you are using something like Recharge or Great White, this eliminates the need for using Aquashield as anything other than a foliar spray, in which i think its only benefit there, would be to improve the effectiveness of other foliar sprays.

True, but not by all that much. And if you notice the wide array of fungi and bacteria thats in Great White, in comparison to the label on Recharge, i think this not only makes up for slightly less concentrations, but it surpasses it by adding all the benefits these other additional bacteria provide.

For instance theres 3 addtional strains of the Glomus fungi in Great White.
There is also the bacteria Azotobacter Chrooccocum in Great White which helps plants absorb atmospheric nitrogen, which they can not absorb themselves, by converting into ammonium ions which they can absorb.

Theres also 7 other strains of bacteria or fungi that i have yet to even do any research on in Great White that Recharge does contain.


To be honest, i dont think you will see much difference, if any at all, by doing side by side comparisons of each of the products, as they pretty much all do the same thing.

Glad to have ya along. This journal should be packed full of useful debates and information between myself and Skybound and Shanker.

I have really been reading into the benefits of bacteria and fungi in the garden, and i'm really seeing the results first hand so you i'm sure will pick up a lot of useful information, especially if you grow in soil. about microbes and such


As for the THC Bomb, its a pretty nice looking plant. I highly suggest tipping it early, to promote side branching and to keep the plant short. I'm just about to transplant it into a 3.5gal container for flower and flower it under my very weak LED that i got as part of a Sponsored Journal and Review. I also have one of my "Cookie" phenos of my Girl Scout Cookies that i will flower beside it.

I havent grown this out fully myself, but i have seen nice looking grows of THC bomb and i was impressed enough to buy some beans and try myself. However, i'm pretty set on a couple strains that i want to grow out once the tent is all cleaned up and the mildew is dealt with, so, i'm not taking any clones of the THC bomb, because i have 2 beans on my shelf for a future grow.

The strains i am currently growing are:

Dinafem OG Kush
BC Bud Depot Girl Scout Cookies (2 phenos)
Unknown Pink Kush, but i believe its originally from the Reeferman seed stock. My Favourite at the moment.
Humboldt Seed Org. Blueberry Headband.
Bomb Seeds THC bomb.

I only plan to continue with the OG Kush and the Pink Kush for the time being, until i change things up in a month or so, when i get my new chiller. Then i will be doing a big RDWC with one of my buddies here on the site.

Once the Flower tent is cleaned out and i deem it safe for plants again, I'm hoping that i have some plants big enough for flower, if not, they are going in anyways! i only plan to put 2 plants into flower, each in 27gal DWC totes at a time, spacing them apart by 2 weeks. i'm going to have some serious wasted floor space, but in order to get a solid schedule down, i need to sacrifice flower room floor space for 2 weeks.

Actually i have a plan.. i'm going to think about it some more as i water the plants and take some pictures for everyone!
