GreenKitty's 2nd Grow - Shining Silver Haze by RQS - CFL - Soil

(...)

Here are a couple of charts to help diagnose problems. Hope they help you.

Thank you so much! I couldn't find the picture of the PH and nutrient availability, also to the lesser experienced growers following this journal should find this to be really useful.

So it's either Iron or Manganese deficiency, pulling down the Ph should help. Right?

Not sure if this'l work Jeeks but try clicking here for one of the most useful posts I've read online. It's something I refer to every time I have a problem. I think I gave correct credit to 420 for the original post. ;) Good luck. :peace:

Thanks for your help. I did look at the second post, but as this is only my second grow I'm not very experienced at recognizing the problems, I look but I don't really know what I'm seeing so having another set of eyes looking at the plant is super useful! And sometimes because we care so much for the plant there's certain things that can be just genetics or something that we over analyse and over diagnose, I prefer to be sure before I try something so I don't change things for the worse.

I watered the soil with water, 2 parts 6 PH 1 part 7 PH (mixure of bottled and tap water), I did this to hopefully loser the PH without chocking the plant with a change in the PH so I don't have PH variance symptoms this early on.

Here's the daily photo :)

on your soil not getting dry issue, yes it could be from not having enough perlite but ultimately i think it may be because its still kinda young in such. probably is just too small to soak up and use all that water. When planting in such a big container i use a turkey baser and start about 2 inches away from where the seed/seedling is and go around in circles until i get to the seedling. This way you know you wont over water and its gonna be able to "suck up"/use what little amount of water you did give it.

I agree with Smithy... Small Plant = Small Root System. That pot is rather large for her (not a problem at all), I would do what Smithy suggested. If you don't have a Turkey Baster then just pour water directly on her stem and about 2-4 inches around it. She will start sucking up more and more water every day!

I was always very anxious to water mine and even in perfectly sized pots with lots of drainage, I always got worried when the soil stayed moist longer than I would have expected it too. But if your lady looks healthy she probably is.

At this point it really just takes monitorin:) you're doing a good job!

Lookin' good! :thumb:

Frankly, I'd just forget about watering for a week or so. It's showing good vigor - just let it grow. :cheesygrinsmiley: At that speed it'll fill the pot with roots before it needs water again. Keep it warm, and yes, it needs the third light now.

Great start!

Once the next set of leafs are bigger, around a day or two from now I'll add the 4th light :)

Thank you for all the encouragement :3

Lady Groot keeps on growing!

This is day 15:

Still kind of yellow, but she keeps growing, we just passed the 2nd week, in about a week I'll probably feed her the first time, I'll use the bottled water with a ph of 6 plus a 1/5th or 1/6th tap water to not lower the ph too fast and feed her with around 1/3rd the final nutritional dose, as long as she keeps growing the yellowing should be fixed with that watering/feed and she'll be 100% happy :) Well she'll be a little bit stressed, because of the Low Stress Training :p

Your lil' Groot is lookin' great!

There is a chance those leaves wont repair themselves, although that damage doesn't look very bad so I am optimistic they will turn back to a normal color. What's most important is that your new growth is a very healthy looking green and the leave structure looks great.. much better than those lower leaves.

You're definitely on track, really good job!!

Actually I just went to check the plant and take a couple pictures because the new growth is coming along with the same yellowing as the rest.

In here you can even see that there's two tips of leaves that are burned:

Hmmmm, now I do see what you are talking about... I am gonna be completely honest here, I am not terribly good at identifying deficiencies, especially from pictures. There are far more experienced growers who could offer a better diagnosis than I. However if I had to guess I would say Potassium Deficiency....

I wish I had some informational pictures to offer, however I am at work and I doubt the IT team would approve of me downloading and uploading cannabis pictures from their computer haha. Just give google a quick search.

Someone already did, I was thinking about iron deficiency because of too high ph which could be the case because the water I first used had a ph of 6.9-7.

Are you giving it nutes yet?

No, it's still yearly I think... But I could put some 1/5th the potency or something on the areas around the plant (like 6 to 8cm from the stem) but I'm afraid I'll make it even worse :( I was kind of just hoping to let it keep going until I reach the 3rd week to then start nutes with PHed water and hope that could fix it, but I'm nervous about waiting another week.

Lady Groot still growing. Yesterday night I used a very light amount of nutrition with some water to try and fix things before the 3rd week, no sign of anything going wrong, will have to see the new growth until 3rd week to see if anything is fixed.
