Big Pots = Big roots = Big plants = Big Buds

Right on Sanibel. That is exactly the thought behind the big pots. Ive read before that you should have a gallon for every foot of heigth you want your plant to grow. Well that would meen you should have a 5 gallon bucket for a 5 foot tall plant and in my opinion thats not enough. I have always put almost all of my flowering plants into 7 or even better 10 gallon pots.

In a side by side comparison the same plants started at the same time , one in a #5 bucket and one in a #10 the #10 (actually like 7 gallons) well outperformed the #5 after about 2 weeks.

So typically,...and this is extremely "generalized" but if you get a larger pot you will get a larger plant with larger buds. In my experience the same plant in a #10 as apposed to a #5 will produce almost an ounce more per plant.

The buckets in these pics are pics of #5 buckets...which are actually 3.7 gallons. They should do for this room cause the plants will be staying pretty small cause of the 600watt (as apposed to a 1000watt). Typically though these plants would be transplanted again into a even larger bucket of about 7-10gallons.

Everything looks gravy in the garden! Ive been at work a lot recently so sorry the updates have been fewer. I will try and get a new vid up here soon though and I expect to have updated pics up soon as well.

Wow those are big pots! I guess kind of an odd question but with assuming you have done both sized pots, is gram per watt higher in the 10 overall or same ratio as the 5..Just wondering dunno why it was on my mind.

Nice information right there +reps if i can, so lets get this straight, a 2 gallon pot for a 2 foot plant? 3 gallon for 3 feet (thats my top).

Well yes that is what I've read. Me personally, I like to double it. 10 gallon pots for 5 ft plants. And yes the larger pots do convert into more grams per watt. Sativas certainly like to fill in those larger pots. Atleast that's my experience. Bigger pots bigger buds. I've seen people put their plants in 55 gallon trash barrels with about 45 gallons of soil in them and it only seemed to help the plants. However that may be a little more than needed.

Ok, so here the new update. Yeah! plantporn! lol.

Plants are looking good and their starting to flower. The little seedlings were topped already but their just huge!

I spray everything with azatrol regularly and bring the seedlings in and out so they get 24 hours of light. The neem oil makes the leaves kind of curl. With this being a Co-op type of garden, all kinds of people are in and out so we have to make sure that the garden doesnt get infested with something from one of the patients, of course namely spider mites, they are rampant out here. Hell spidermites are rampant everywhere nowadays.

Ive been way busy these days with work but Ill try and make sure I get on here more often. Sorry the update took so long everyone.

When I use to keep a huge garden with helpers, I would keep disposable painter suites available for workers. This will help to keep pest to a minimum. This is just a suggestion though, by using the azatrol your handling the situation just right. Man o'man do I love rolling through your threads, never a dull moment

In your July POTM entry, is that a 30g pot. That is what I plan on using! If so what size was that girl when you flipped her?

Velodrone, that was a 20 gallon pot actually I believe. However a 30 gallon would work great Im sure. If they say its a #30 then it might actually be like 22 gallons or something like that. Wish you the best of luck. Oh, and it was about 3 ft tall when I put her into flower.

Nugs are finally starting to form on the plants, I will hopefully have an update later today after I leave work.

I can't seem to make my video appear so screw it. Greenisland, please do me a favor and contact me and let me know how I can somehow get this home video of my 3 plants 20 days flowering in my ebb and gro with 400w hps light to you so I can get some feedback from you since you seem to be the don juan mofo around here my friend. I have been told by pro's that I got a pro set-up. On a serious note though, please let me know how we can do this though. I need some pro advice on what kind of pot this is and how much there is probably gonna be and all that stuff. My video is very detailed and there is a shot of every branch and bud site. I am just scared that I am going to grow some butt weed. I have always heard that a seed out of a good bag of smoke is gonna be some butt. I would think that if the smoke was good that the seed comes from then the smoke you grow from it should be atleast double as good because it won't have seeds and in return it will produce more THC since it's not using all it's energy to produce seeds, is this correct??
