Graytail's 4th Perpetual: 4x4 Samsung Panels

Ya eh 119,...we should all be able to do it like that guy on Seinfeld...remember...how he could describe a pair of shoes..LMAO..
Ah yes Duggs I do remember that guy! Pretty funny stuff there, really liked that show... some episodes, like the one you mentioned, stick in my mind. Kinda like that one episode of Married with children where Kelly figures out she can retain any information she wants... but she hasn't the room so she keeps forgetting old stuff... good times!:passitleft:

Subbd.
Dont know HOW i made page 9.
Grabbin a seat.
::nomo:
Thx Duggs for pullin my coat.

Thank you gentlemen! Graytail does love his attaboys! :slide:

I was actually a bit intimidated to get back to seriously growing. I wasn't so sure I could keep up with myself, y'know? But, the Kit came through yet again! :yahoo: And I'm totally freelancing this time - doin' whatever I feel like doin' - gettin' all jiggy n stuff with the tools - whaddya know, it works anyway.

Here's that bud of Bubba. It's heavily hash flavored, but there's some fruity undertone that I wasn't expecting - dank, like ... prunes? :hmmmm: It's still curing though.

Caught up!
I truly enjoy watching you work GT.
:passitleft:
Freestyling and profiling as Clyde would say.

I’ve pretty much always trained this way,

What is your training/topping method? I’m asking because I once read Sue mention something about you having a very specific technique. I think that’s how she put it anyway, it was a few years ago.

I recall him doing what he calls ponytailing. Where he pulls the tops down in an arch like you would if you were doing lst, but he does not tie them in place. He will do it a few times a day to them so that they will eventually stay lower and allow under growth to catch up. He may have changed that since I read it a couple of years ago.

I think ponytailing may be the wrong term, but yes, I do a version of what Duggs does. I bend the leading tops over a few times a day. Duggs actually pinches and supercrops, but I just bend 'em over, tucking the soft ends into a shepherds hook shape so they point down. That keeps them from straightening for several hours. I enjoy the fiddling and tucking. I'll bend the tip over and tuck it under its fan leaf, for instance. I'll bend a lower branch a bit sideways so it'll pop up in the right place when it reaches the others. I kinda mold them, day by day.

I prefer to top at the 8-10th node or so, but LST works just as well if I want a big plant. I'm working with some clones now, with alternating nodes, and they're easier to LST. I try to let the plant decide. You''ll often see a surge in growth when they hit 10-12 nodes, and that'll leave a nice gap in the main cola to take the entire top few nodes off. At that stage they re-establish growth very quickly - fast results. Those side branches are easy to shape.

I'm not aware of anything specific that I do, other than some indulgent artistry in shaping them.

:bongrip:

Thanks guys! I think I'll get some Kalashnikovs for my Dope Seeds prize - look interesting. :slide:

I chopped Bluniverse today. There isn't much to it but it'll be good smoke. tests have been encouraging. :)

I took a few pics of the vegging girls and some training.

I topped Blue Dream a few days ago because I saw the the inner branching was vigorous and reaching up, with a few nodes very close to each other. These will produce nice even side branches.

And here's some fiddling.

Same here. I rushed it into bloom with only the top for a cut and that didn't take. And then the sucker didn't stretch. I think I have one more seed but that might be a male. I sure hope it'll reveg. I want some of that old Kali Mist again. That was memorable in the Y Griega. The menthol bite has me hoping. :)

BTW, thanks! The Malawi is gonna be sweet, too! :Namaste:

Yes,..the old original Kali Mist from Simon at Serious Seeds.....just an incredible strain..very landrace, very vigorous ....tasty and potent. I remember puffing on it about 15-16 yrs. ago that i grew ,...and wanting to cut the grass after one toke...ffs.
