Graytail's 4th Perpetual: 4x4 Samsung Panels

All caught up Gray. Garden is looking stellar my man! Love that DC.....seriously gorgeous buds! Kinda like that Gram per day measurement too....might have to start incorporating that into my strain recaps. Have a great weekend Gray!

Thank ya, sir!

Keltic mentioned that, too. Of course, it's related to soil gallons and probably our own individual gardens, but it's a nice metric for the complete grow - how much you harvest vs how long it takes to go from start to finish. And it's also a fun way to compare to your own consumption. We consume about 1.5 g/day in this household, so in theory we could easily get by on three big plants in bloom. The rest is gravy. :slide:

A week or two ago I ran into someone who brought up yield per soil gallon and was proud that he'd nailed almost 1 ounce per gallon, which is certainly a winner of a yield. :) That's another good metric. I'm averaging 0.650 g/day for my 6 gallons with 0.5 ounce per gallon, and it looks like the 3 gallon pots are good for 0.250 g/day with 0.3 oz/gal. I'm doing better on the 6s this run and not hitting the goal on the 3s so far.

morning mr.Gray beautiful pics if I may say..... Takes your breath away what Mother Nature provides doesn't it.....

I hope this morning finds you we'll..

And thank you, too Smeegol. :thanks:

I don't think I welcomed you here amongst all the familiar faces. :Namaste:

The cannabis plant in particular is such an amazing and diverse thing. There seem to be endless surprises in its DNA.

Yes definitely. It looks bad A. I had to replace mine recently and was tempted by the timbers. But if I could build something comparable little by little I think I would love to give that a try.

I have some of them panels. They are great, just letting you know.

Hello Graytail and everyone else. I have been subbed and watching in the background for a while now, and having just read Magoos comment about building a light bit by bit so as to be more affordable, I thought I'd chime in.
I saw Amy's build, and was pretty impressed with her efforts, she made it look pretty easy I think.
Here in Australia, we are fortunate to have, I think, one of the best Led suppliers in the world, they are called Cutter Electronics. They sell everything you need to build all manner of lights. I am building one now using there own brand of strip utilising the "J" series cree chips, once I'm done, the simulations suggest that I should be getting somewhere around 700 ppfd at 2 ft, all Bluetooth enabled. Anyway, I submit that by using any of the quality strip light leds, Samsung, bridgelux, cutter, you could build very efficient light arrays, say 2 square feet at a time very affordably.
Sorry for the long post Gray, but it happens when you don't post much. Cheers.

Thank you very much for chiming in. :) Yep, the strips are very flexible, easy to work with, and extremely modular. Other than shipping cost, it's easy to build a bit at a time.

:thumb:

What sort of Lu/W do the Cutter strips have? I looked into the cheap Chinese ones but their Lu/W was relatively bad compared to Samsung brand. I'd love to have one of the CPU-based operating programs! There's one called Growduino that caught my attention.

:Namaste:

Hey Gray, the strips I've got on order with the Cree chips, from memory are 190 lpw at 48v, but the do another with Nichia chips that are 210 lpw also at 48v but the are a lot more expensive.

I really want a Growduino controller but they don't ship to the US. It looks like you can control 2 rooms with 1 controller, all from the web.
