Graytail's 4th Perpetual: 4x4 Samsung Panels

where you cock your head and nod approvingly. So the nod, and the ease back and ... the part where the pipe is still in your hand and the lighter is in the other one and you're not sure how much time has passed, or what exactly you'd been thinking about? Yeah, like that. My my.

Gosh yes - that’s it!:thumb:

Nice update back there Gray. Beautiful DCs and that Carnival is some pppppphhhhatttt buddage! Excellent work. So nice to be able to visit your garden :)

I can see your resistant points Graytail, and I encourage you to give it another try. You grow some nice sativas my friend, some of which scream for some fermentation. I smoke more cob than I chew, and it’s possible to have variety on the tray with cobs too. Just ask Neiko.

Do you find the cobs any smoother to smoke? We’ve started playing with fermenting loose buds in a jar. This may be a good supplement to cobbing.

Sue did you have the Devils Carnival cobbed? I know you love the carnival but couldn’t remember if you had DC.

I do have two DC cobs Magoo, some of my tastier cobs at that. I haven’t indulged as much with DC because I have a friend I want to share it with before I start into them.

I have a strong preference for Carnival, much stronger than I realized before my vacation. Lol! I’ll be keeping my larders full from here on out. The DC pheno I grow is incredibly potent and is beloved by a friend I met in Jamaica. It takes him back to the island. :battingeyelashes: I use my harvests to brighten his world in Minnesota and for pain oil.

It’s also a favorite of Hash Hounds gf. Gotta keep it around for her, don’t I? Lol!

Working in my tent now, and having some of the same issues.
I can keep my temps under 85, but then the humidity drops to 35-38%.

Your plants are looking good, where might someone find some DC?

Anyway ran in to get my camera in order to update my thread in a bit.
:peace:
I don't remember where I saw it, but I found a chart a long while back that showed the sweet spots. Basically the higher the temp the higher you want RH. Gotta watch getting it to high though if you're in flower. You may be better off in the high 80s if it's taking your RH too low.

Or share a cut, not like I need it seeing as how I broke my "no new seeds" rule and bought a pack of flaming cherries from Greenfire genetics to add to my large collection. Nothing like buckshot though, he seems to have everything..
Buckshot does have everything I feel! I have been trying not to buy anything new as well. I did win something on IG but I do not know what it is yet. I talked to a buddy that is looking to start growing yesterday and offered to supply the seeds if he will give me cuts of whatever I like best in return. Not sure if they are going to go for it or not, but I find it may be my best chance of actually working my way through my seeds lol.

Yeah, I don't see myself wanting to take the SSSDH to harvest. Like you, I've seen this before. Ugh. I'll find something to take its place I suspect.

Nis and Canna spread the DC seeds around quite a bit, so it's not that hard to run 'em down. I have a couple dozen of them I've been playing with. I just checked to see if I had more but I feel a bit hoardish about what I have left. :) They're fun! Y'all can be sure that if I find a great one I'll clone or reveg it. This DC2 has promise.
I feel you with feeling like hoarding certain things. It is nice you got enough to play around with to see what you can get. So far that DC2 is something I would try and keep around. The dark purple pheno does not seem to be super prevalent so if I had it I would keep it until I decide if it is worth having around. I know that means you would have to reveg it though.
I know you have seen the "fluffy" phenos before, they never do well for me. They require greater skills than I possess to keep them happy. I also tend to not have the patience for them either. I am sure if you decide to pull er out of the line up that you will find something suitable to take its place.

The DC I’m growing is more potent than the purples I had the opportunity to try.

My DC pheno hermies like nothing going. Lol! I’d discontinue it but that line is incredibly popular with two friends and I don’t have the heart to deny them something they won’t find anywhere else. I find them fun to grow too.

Your seeds had more of the Carnival genetics come through Graytail. Makes me tempted to try another seed and see which chocolate I pulled out. Lol!

I figure I’ll keep it going long enough to learn how to stabilize the genetics. It’ll be a long-term project.

So my temps running in mid to upper 70s but my humidity is around 40 ...bout to flip tomorrow. Is that not good? Because I had read it was ideal to have Rh that low for flower. 40-50 with a high temp around 78. So that’s what I was shooting for. Read it on Royal Queen Seeds site I think.

That sounds good, where you are. You just don't want to get to low. When you get stuck at one end of the spectrum, sometimes it's better for the plants, to adjust the other variable a bit.

@JustMeds yes, that is the chart I was talking about, thank you. It's not perfect for us, but it does help to visualize the range we're aiming for. You'll notice, Doc's recommendation of 78f and 55rh is right at the bottom of the range, pushing towards being on the dry side to keep PM issues at a minimum, but still in range.

Hi Gray and gang!

I’m alway amazed at your garden variety. Nice update:goodjob:

I am succumbing to the heat myself this year. Too many hot days back to back, bloom room was up to 86f. Ouch!

Need to break down and figure out an AC option, needs to be a portable one, as I don’t have any normal windows. All I can do is cut vent holes in the walls, or something.

Time to put my thinking cap on!

Have a great day!

You can find the free standing ones that vent through a duct for $200-$300. Just keep in mind your normal venting. Don't tie them together, and if it's drawing to hard, it will pull warm air in from outside through the AC duct. I ended up closing off my normal vent in flower and only have my AC pushing outside my room and out through a carbon filter.

Also, keep in mind the heat from your lights. I have an 8k btu for an 8x6 room with 6 quantum boards and I'm wishing I had gone with a 10k or 12k one.

A minisplit is best.....small holes in the wall only. The portable ones crap out in less than a year and you need to cut a great big hole in the wall. not only that, the goofy folks who design portable AC's like to use odd-sized vents and hoses so standard HVAC stuff won't work. total pain in the ass.

Minisplit.

Get another 6 QBs and I bet your temps fall enough to get by on the 8K. :slide:

The math is pretty interesting. My setup is about 55% efficient at the wall because I run my 304 diode boards at less than 50 watts each. So, my 670 watts only produces 301 watts (45%) of heat. If I ran higher power at say, 45% efficient, then my heat goes up to 368 watts. That's 20% more heat.

My 304s still run hot enough that I need sinks, but the 128s just run bare, and they only start getting "hot" at 40 watts. More boards = less heat. :slide:

I chopped Devils Carnival3 today. :yummy:

I didn't realize until I started taking it apart, that the lower buds had a lot of pink in them. :)

Here's how she looked at the end. The heat took its toll on the upper foliage, but the rest of it was good. She smells like a Carnival. :yahoo:

:Namaste:

And more coming soon :)

I had some larf sitting on a tray to dry and grabbed it up last night and had a few puffs ... and it was gooood. It tasted a little sweet and kinda danky peppery - hard to describe. But the buzz came clear and strong, and I reloaded for another few hits and smoked those up ... and those were good, too. The kind of high where you cock your head and nod approvingly. So the nod, and the ease back and ... the part where the pipe is still in your hand and the lighter is in the other one and you're not sure how much time has passed, or what exactly you'd been thinking about? Dude! That sounds incredible....makes me want to grow another Malawi, see if I get the same effects...
