I was just saying that to Kelley this morning. The preparations will be made soon, and we'll get her potted up into a 3 gallon fabric pot. Then we'll have to figure out how far to put the light above her. I don't have any working text files that give me the Mars Hydro 300w recommended Heights, so I may have to search harder. But that's all right.Might want to get ready to transplant there grandpa as Jane is getting much bigger in that cup
now for the Daily Report..
Temp = 84°
rH = 37%
I'm told that it looks like her leaves maybe getting a little lighter green in color. I'm sure she would like a drink, but I would rather hold off until transplant. That will be tomorrow or possibly Monday. Good idea or should we give her some water? I'm also wondering if the humidity being that low is possibly beginning to have some effect. With Kelly's thyroiditis and hypothyroidism, she has very limited time to feel well enough to take care of these things, and we have to take advantage where we can in between the other things she has to do. It will get done, regardless. This is way too important for our health. Grrrr...frustrating I can't do this and relieve her from having to...
I have had zero experience with these types of soils as well... Obviously. However, it seems to me that run off, even just a little bit to get a pH reading, would be beneficial. That way I know the soil is truly balanced. Not to mention the PPMs in and out.I have no idea how a super soil works but I'm worried about you not running to runoff. You don't need a lot of runoff but you want to know the entire medium is getting wet. Otherwise your roots grow into dry soil. This caused some weird problems that looked like lockout caused deficiency for another member. I know stank advised not to water to runoff but I would maybe water. wait a few minutes. then if there is no water in the runoff tray add some (to the runoff tray itself!) not a lot just enough for her to bottom to get wet . That will ensure the medium is fully moisturized . Ps if you don't have a runoff tray use a bowl. The soil will take all it needs from the water there after about 5 to 10 mins then move jaws aka Jane back to a dry surface. See if that does the trick
Sorry more here. Haha. Is there any way you can trim down the walls a little on the cup? I suppose if your transplanting soon it's a silly suggestion. But it may help your transplant go a little smoother also now that I think of it.
✌
Yes, I have done that. The one I tried had no way of being helpful to me, as it was based on images that my screen reader could not read. It was basically a blank screen to my thumb. So, I'll just have to find a text based or PDF file for my screen reader to read. I'm sure Mars Hydro has one somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if Sarah has already sent those numbers to me in a PM. All sort through my inbox, and let you guys know.Grandpa, to assist with your light question. You can download a free app Light/Par Meter and it will help you determine the height your light should be at. Are you able to do that?
No, I am using a smartphone with Android 7.0 and Google Text-to-Speech and talk back girl text to speech provides the voices and synthesizes them. TalkBack use the screen reader.Are you using dragon speaking?
Sounds like you had a lot of fun while you were there, G2H. You haveed to do something to break up the day. Unfortunately, with the screen reader on, my phone will not take screenshots. The Palm swipe method will not work while it's on, and there is no other way to do a screenshot. Great idea, though. I also am quite a geek. Before I was blinded, I adjusted PHP HTML and dhtml coating on content Management systems and blog scripts for the web. I would make it work the way my friend wanted it to, and then I would skin it for him. I used to designed skins for quite a number of the scripts. I also worked with GIF and PNG animations. My specialty was making water look like it was flowing or waterfalls falling anything to do with water or snow or things along those lines. So yes, I'm a geek :geek
I guess maybe the smartest thing to do, would be to call the Build-a-Soil people and find out from them. Should have thought of that from the get-go... Duh! Thanks a lot for those Heights, Toasty. Saved me going through a lot of messages. Lol!I am starting to use kind soil, a sort of super soil you put just at the bottom of the pots. The roots will root into it as needed to get their nutrients. I was told you want as little runoff as possible cause everytime you are getting runoff you are leeching those valuable nutrients out of the soil.
Sorry about not sending the instruction manual along with it.. i dont normally use them for anything, they all get thrown into a drawer lol. Heres info about the light heights from the book.
For germination and seedlings 24-30". For veg 18-24". For flower 12-18".
Grow tips: recommend growing conditions: the rate of photosynthesis and transpiration are directly affected by temperature, humidity and airflow. The perfect temperature and humidity for your plants are found between 75-85 f and 50-70% humidity, with plenty of airflor to replenish co2. Ph is 6-6.5. You may add more calcium and magnesium than normally needed.
